-- there? I think that's it! Um. I'm Colette! For those that are newer and I haven't met yet. I just wanted to say thank you to everyone that have helped me so far!
[Colette by now has had a little more practice at least. Enough that it....is actually properly showing her this time and not a ridiculous number of dogs. She focuses the camera onto her, sitting on her bed at the inn with a notebook at her lap. In it is a picture of a huge tree, and two figures.]
I have only been here a few weeks. So a lot I'm still adjusting to, but. We have such an opportunity here! To share our knowledge and everything. Stories and celebrations and all sorts, from so many different places. I guess the main one I remember from home were about the Goddess Martel and Mithos the Hero.
"Once upon a time, there existed a giant tree that was the source of mana. A war, however, caused this tree to wither away, and a hero's life was sacrificed in order to take its place. Grieving over the loss, the goddess disappeared unto the heavens. The goddess left the angels with this edict: ‘You must wake me, for if I should sleep, the world shall be destroyed.’ The angels bore the Chosen One, who headed towards the tower that reached up unto the heavens. And that marked the beginning of the regeneration of the world."
[She focuses the phone more at the notebook for a moment. Giving everyone a better view of her attempt to recreate the story she recalls so well. So vividly from her classes, from her time at the Church back home.]
I guess, that's why it's so amazing to me, here. Sylvarant was in decline. The crops dying. The people suffering. Here, I figured I can make things grow! Well, and the light? But that's something I guess I wish I'd been able to do to help, back home. I know I did what I could to help, as the Chosen, but still. For all that it's a lot to adjust to, especially with being able to eat, feel and sleep and talk again, and not having my wings, this place really is amazing. Obviously I'm still new with these new abilities. I'm still learning, practicing and figuring them and this place out. But I'm sure I'll get there! I just need to work at it more!
[And she is getting a little sidetracked from her initial intent here. Just a tad. She shakes her head, before tilting it some, a small smile at her lips even as she seems rather curious and excited after raising her hand to one of the little pot plants in the room and just barely noticeably makes the plant grow a tiny bit in demonstration if one really pays attention.]
But what about everyone else? What about the stories from your homes? How are you all adjusting here?
[A whine can be heard, and she glances to the side, murmuring something about feeding her familiar soon, as then an oversized.....white and green dog....? appears in the screen's view and licks at Colette's cheek, causing her to giggle as she reaches to stop the feed.]

[After knowing that her homeworld struggled with growing anything...!]
And- yeah. Back home a lot of our teachers are former or current heroes too. We learn a lot from them. And his quirk is a lot like mine. He can enhance his strength to massive levels!
[Izuku will just keep one fact out of that- that he got his quirk from All Might. He's still keeping that on the downlow.]

[Colette gives a nod in agreement, and as she listens to him.]
Your school must have been so different from ours! Professor Sage mostly did things like history and writing and reading and such. Not learning powers, Quirks like you had to train to learn to use and control and all. But it's lucky he had a similar power! That must have really helped you out that he understood how yours worked!
no subject
[He is really glad that they worked on magic together once before!]
And- Yeah! We had all the usual classes too like Math and English... It's a lot of work but I don't mind it all. So you got to take normal classes too?
[Why does that make him feel relieved for her??]
no subject
[Given her Chosen duties. Colette had a little more to learn, specifically in what was needed and expected of her to manage to succeed in her Journey, after all. So while she still had her classes with Lloyd and Genis and the rest, she was also having to do private study herself alongside that.]
no subject
[Angelic language... And he thought his English classes were tough once in a while...]
no subject
[Her duty. What was expected of her. What she had to learn and spend time focusing on if it helped her succeed. Helped her save Sylvarant. If it helped her save Lloyd, the world he lived in, those hours spent learning the Angelic language and everything else would be worth it.]

[Izuku fights with a question that he doesn't really know how to ask.]
What do you mean... What you had to do? I know you say that The Chosen is someone that's picked but...
no subject
[That and. Being the Chosen was never something she had a say in. She was picked because of her particular Mana signature. That meant she was an appropriate potential vessel for Martel. Colette's been raised accordingly, been fed a life of lies and told herself this was how it had to be, resigned herself to this.]
no subject
I ... I think I understand what you mean now.
[For a little while he was concerned for her, that she was pushed into something and a power that was ultimately going to hurt her. But maybe Izuku can relate to that. Being given power so much stronger than your own existence. Trying to do what's right with it...]
I think doing what you can to help with the power you have is important. Seeing the future a little brighter for it is... It's what I'd do too.
no subject
[Or at least. She tells herself that. Says what she is expected to. Because how could she say otherwise? Everyone was depending on her, counting on her to succeed and thus improve things for Sylvarant. If she didn't go ahead with it, she wouldn't be a very good Chosen. Selfish.]
no subject
I- I know... If I were you I think I'd probably feel like I had to do the same thing.
[In a way, he does. He's in a dangerous spot and if he moves then people he loves are going to get hurt or worse. He has to keep pushing forward.
And yet he can't help saying,]
B-but... Colette-san... I think if your friend Lloyd could pick... He'd want you to be safe and you to be who you are more than anything else... I think if there was another way for you to do that and save your world, all your friends would want that. I think... There has to be something else.
no subject
[Her hand goes to that red gem at her neck, a faint hint of a smile there. She's still figuring how she feels on everything she'd already been told. Let alone the revelations on Martel and all Kratos would be telling her too. That Lloyd had refused to sacrifice her even knowing that was what everyone expected her to do. She can't help but wonder, part of her, if that makes her a bad Chosen that part of her is relieved. It's still.....well. A lot though.]
Kratos said something about uniting the two worlds. To share the mana supply without one being in decline. That there's no need for the Chosen anymore, that nobody else would need to go on the Journey. I don't remember all that yet, but. It sounds like things work out? In the end.
no subject
That's a relief to hear... For a second it almost sounded like there was no other way but if your friends were able to work around it...?
[He smiles?]
I don't understand what uniting two worlds would mean, but ... If it helps you then I hope it does work out in the end.
[But honestly what does 'uniting two worlds' entail? That seems like a dangerous concept in itself. But risks for something good, are good.]

[Once he actually found out from the others telling him. Which was decidedly not Colette, in her having fled earlier to the Final Seal in avoiding that goodbye. Which, well. She still feels bad about but he did make it in the end. And it wasn't really properly goodbye. Apparently. So it all worked out.]
I'm not sure on the details on how they figured it. How it worked. But...if it means there's no more Chosen. That everyone can be happy without suffering...that's worth it.
no subject
I'm... glad to hear that, Colette-san. You know, when you started telling me about all of this I was amazed at first but as you went on it was a bit... scary knowing that you were losing parts of yourself. If I'm honest... I was worried...
[What a relief...!!]
It sounds like your friend Lloyd fought hard for you just like a hero would.
no subject
[...of course he was, with Colette's talk of losing the ability to sleep or eat or speak or feel anything. Anyone would be. Especially someone less familiar with the whole thing of the Journey, of what it meant to become an Angel. Still, she does smile at his comparing Lloyd to a hero.]
I guess he is! At least. To me.
no subject
[That's right, it was a lot of shocking information to absorb and Izuku is the type of person to analyze all that and over-worry about it.]
You said he was with you for almost your entire journey, right?
no subject
[That she got more time with him. Even if she worried him when he figured out what was happening with her not eating or sleeping or feeling anything anymore. But even with that, it was easier in having him there. His smile and support.]
no subject
[He doesn't know if it's the right thing to do to wish that her friends are here in this one instead. This place is far away and isn't exactly home.]
I hope you get to see him soon?
no subject
[.....yes that includes Sheena. As in the ninja sent to assassinate her because somehow....it's Colette, they become bffs. Don't ask how that works, it's Colette logic and optimism or something, Izuku. But she does miss Lloyd especially. Of course she does. When he's her best friend. When he was her main motivation for pushing through everything on her Journey.]
no subject
[He lets out a sheepish laugh.]
But making new friends here has been okay too.
no subject
[But at least she knows more or less? Sort of? That things end up okay. She isn't sure if any of Izuku's friends here recall more than Izuku himself does. That he is aware of even that much beyond what he last recalls, if he knows things will work out in the end or not.]
no subject
[He wouldn't really wish for anyone to get swept up and stuck in this world too but he does miss his friend!]
And having met someone you might know or not know at home... Yeah, it seems like sometimes our timelines are crossed. I have a few friends who don't know what's happened yet, too.
no subject
[Iselia was a much smaller community, a smaller town and school. So Colette isn't surprised that perhaps things were different, besides the hero thing, for Izuku with his studies and school experience in comparison.]
Really? How....how did you deal with that? Have you told them? Did they want to know?
no subject
[A big school meant it was easier to have some reps. It's also common in his schooling system.]
I actually try not to tell them too much about the future. I don't want to upset them or maybe confuse them too much. I mean... If they ask I'd try to explain but for the most part I just want to keep them safe? If that makes sense. [He frets.] If it's something they really need to know I'll tell them!
