Hello!

[Aerith is bright and cheerful, which seems to be the norm for her. She offers a wave, wearing a smile, her drake coiled around her ponytail and the pretty hair piece tucked into it.]

Not long after I arrived, I had this thought to open a flower shop. I haven't yet, but I have some flowers that are kind of taking over my apartment. I got these a bit ago, so some of them are younger than others, but they're all pretty hardy.

[Her camera pans over to a counter that's housing no shortage of pots with lily of the valley, larkspur, and primrose plants in a variety of colours.

Afterwards, she leans onto her counter and dips her head as she eyes her device, coming back into view.]

So I guess what I'm saying is that if you like flowers or you want something to spruce your home up, I'm happy to give you some of mine. If you don't know how to take care of them, I can help walk you through that, too. Or if you just want to come take a look at them, that'd be okay, too.

[After a pause, she continues.] Also, if you didn't know, larkspurs— [She points to the ones that stand tall with the colourful petals.] —are a favourite with King Arthur. Just in case you feel like getting on his good side.

Meadowbell. What a cute name for a familiar.

[And definitely not as much a mouthful as her Drake's name is.

At his question, she points between the three different whites from left to right.]

This one is a lily of the valley. It has a lot of other names as well, but the flowers look a bit like bells. And this one is a larkspur—the one that King Arthur likes a lot. And this one here is a primrose. I guess you could say it's a little like a rose, but maybe not as formal?

[That's a terrible way to put it, but simplicity is best with someone who might not know much about plants.]

Let's see...

[ A little face appears on screen for a moment, looking at each of the flowers. Then Fenton tips his head a bit as the Pixie whispers something to him. ]

Oh, okay...so Meadowbell says she really likes the lily of the valley.

Oh, that's some good taste. I like those a lot, too. They're very pretty! Now...

[Aerith's actually writing this down. She's had a lot more interest in her flowers than she's anticipated and it's been a very pleasant surprise.]

You're welcome to stop by my apartment at any time. There's no rush and no expiration. I always have flowers here, and I don't expect to be running out at any time. I can also make plans to meet with you and deliver them myself! I don't have a preference, just a heads up on whatever you might decide.

Sure thing! So, um...oh... [ He tilts his head as Meadowbell whispers to him again. ]

So uh...would now be all right? Meadowbell says we really need them to brighten up the apartment.

Yes! That's perfectly fine with me.

[She takes a moment to forward the details of her apartment to him.]

I wasn't planning on going anywhere and it sounds like there might be a few who want to come visit. Feel free to show up whenever.

[At this rate, Aerith should have just put together a bunch of snack trays and treated it like a plant open house.]

[ Checking the address for the apartment, Fenton nods. ]

Okay! I can come by in maybe 10 minutes?

[ It doesn't look to be too far from where he is right now. ]

Absolutely!

You take all the time you need. There's no need to rush over it. The flowers aren't going anywhere. [And neither is she, of course.]

All right, thank you! I'll see you soon.

[ With that, he disconnects the call.

And true to his word, he arrives at her door ten minutes later, gently knocking on her door. ]

[Ten minutes later, there's a knock and Aerith finds him on the other side of her door. She steps aside and waves him in.]

Hi there. You want anything to drink?

[The interior of her apartment is pretty simple, pretty empty, save for no shortage of plants. It's transparent where her time has been going and how she's chosen to spend whatever coin she's made since her arrival. Evidently plants are something of a priority for her.

Or maybe it's the only way she can feel really connected to home, without being connected to it at all.]

[ As he steps inside, he shakes his head a little. ]

Oh, no thank you. I'm good.

[ He glances around the apartment, and Meadowbell pops up from hiding in his hair, bouncing in excitement. ]

Wow...there really are a lot of flowers here. It's impressive that you're able to take care of so many!

[Only once he's fully in does she close her door. At his observation, she smiles and perhaps it's a bit sheepish.]

I have a wealth of time here. [Probably not so different from how things were back home before misadventures ensued.] One has to do something to keep busy. Things can't be going wrong all the time.

[She moves past him, towards the counter she had filmed and beckons for him to join her. On it there are the collection of flowers she showed, plus some in colours she probably couldn't fit into the frame. Her lilies of the valley are primarily white. One or two are a pale pink or something akin to a violet.]

As you can see, I have no shortage of them, so you're free to take whatever catches your eye. I know you wanted these— [The lilies, she means, as she points them out.] —but you could take others if you wanted.

[ He chuckles a little. ] That's true! I like to keep occupied myself as well. So far it's mostly been trying to work different jobs to earn enough money so that I can hopefully start a science lab sometime.

[ As he follows her inside, Meadowbell's excitement only seems to increase, and as they come to the counter she hops out from his hair and over to the flowers, darting back and forth between all of them. ]

It looks like Meadowbell really likes all of them.

A science lab.

[Understandably that makes her pause. There's nothing wrong with science, of course. Advancements are advancements, but when it comes to laboratories, all she can think about are the younger years she spent with her mother in one. The experiments run. The days she spent drawing pictures of a place she called the Promised Land. And...

Well. This isn't really the time for that.

Aerith nods after a moment as she rapidly composes herself. When Meadowbell presents herself, Aerith leans onto her counter, seemingly content to watch his familiar.]

I feel that way when I'm around plants, too. Don't think I've ever met a plant I didn't like. It'd probably be hard for me to choose if I was surrounded by them, too.

[ A bit oblivious to her musings, he nods with a proud smile. ] Indeed! I'm an inventor, so I'd like to try get someplace set up where I can begin working on working and testing devices using the technology here.

[ Meanwhile, Meadowbell starts gathering a few different stems of flowers, carrying them easily despite the fact that they all towered over her. ]

I believe she's taken her pick for now.

That sounds practical... [An inventor. She can think of all kinds of reasons Camelot might be interested in people with such minds. They're a little old-fashioned in some ways and surprisingly ahead in others. He'll probably integrate just fine.

Her attention turns onto Meadowbell with a grin. At least she's not shy about picking out some of what she wants. Not everyone has had that bravery.]

She has good taste. I hope you'll send me pictures of their progress as they grow. And of course, if she ever wants more—or if you do—you're both welcome to them.

[ Carefully picking up the flowers that Meadowbell holds out to him, he holds them as the pixie climbs back onto his shoulder. ]
