Um, hey there. Ah, Ruby Rose, here. I'm new, but you probably figured that.

[Okay, she's definitely a little bit nervous. Ruby's not exactly what one would call a social butterfly - she definitely got comfortable enough with Beacon to make friends there, but that's not really relevant anymore. Once she had any downtime in Atlas, she didn't know what to do with herself. And now, THIS? Is a lot to adjust to.

She fidgets and clears her throat.]
So, got a tiny question, here...

I think I kinda get the whole familiars thing, but mine is, well... it puts me in a bit of an odd place.

Basically, has anyone ever gotten anything that should be a soulless killing machine back in their world? That, I don't know, would've been born in power surrounding your world's greatest evil...? [That, back home, she has a power specifically meant to ERADICATE things like the Grimm, AKA the very form her familiar has taken.] Anything like that?

[She realizes she's being very specific here.]

Because I'll be honest, the fact my familiar isn't trying to eat me, or anyone around me, is almost more unnerving than if he was.

Something like that. That'd be putting it a little strongly in my case, but my familiar is definitely a beast that I'd expect to take down dozens of Camelot's inhabitants in normal circumstances.

Maybe that's why they made him so small. Honestly, I feel embarrassed for him.

You've got me pretty curious about your familiar now. I take it it's not just the kind of thing that's a wild animal with a violent nature, but something more malicious.

And yours isn't showing any signs of that at all?

Not to grill you on it or anything, but I'm curious about this too. My familiar is a hydra. It's called D'yavol Tron, where I come from. I got to know them over the months I spent in that country, and they're nothing to be messed with. They're brutal demonic beasts. But they aren't evil. Just animals.

I thought that was intense enough without people having familiars that are actually drawn to seek out and destroy people.

I can't help but feel a little bad for mine under the circumstances. I mean, shrunk down, not to mention stuck with me? I'm more surprised they're not all angry as hell about it. I think about that a lot.

I feel like I accidentally gave us all something to be paranoid about here. But it is something to consider.

Yeah, sounds familiar. It makes me a downer sometimes, but at least I'm a downer who's prepared.

Sometimes.

[It's always what you can't prepare for that gets you, though!]

It's definitely not mine. But that's another issue. Optimism's just one of those things I never got the hang of, even when I wished I could.

Anyway, you introduced yourself, but I didn't. Just in case you wanted to know, my name's Kadoc Zemlupus.
