Travel is good for the soul, I hear.
But why?
When I was only twelve I was bestowed by the good grace of my sire an education in a delightful city thousands of miles from home. Dare I have a pleasant outing, you ask? The majesty of the finest library in the world seldom shielded me from the opposite of being in heaven; nursing frostbitten fingers and sleeping alone in the dark.
No, travel is the most dreadful punishment. For the fiercest soul is made to pine for the comforts of home. Where one is free to laugh and stroll amongst friends.
… I miss mine dearly.
Forgive me for occupying your valuable time with my musing but I must ask:
Do any of you pine for your world left behind? Is home something you miss?
[Do you feel homesick, Avalon?]

I eschew being uprooted from home and hearth so finding myself without my usual distractions has coloured me morose, I fear. Though it is not for me to turn away from a world in need. It is incompatable with someone of my office to neglect duty.
Perhaps I shall find some distraction or another. You know an advisable seller to purchase a book from, surely?

You’re very welcome.
Your office? Were you a public servant or leader before arrival here? Your words do suggest a learned person; I confess my first assumption was a noble or scholar.
I can point you in the direction of the library, should you prefer to save your coin. It might provide some good distractions or perhaps a starting point for other pursuits. [Says the angel who doesn’t really want competition for book acquisition...but will relent and give his sources out if need be. He can be a good sport, really. Sort of.]

Truly. Such direction would be enough.
But before I am run away with my interests permit me to answer yours: I instruct troops on behalf of my liege. Not that I have anyone to lead in this place.
It is a responsibility that I miss. The tedium is already grinding.

Mostly it was WOW it's Jasper...how did I not notice sooner? I played the game XD][He provides directions to the library.]
Oh, soldier. A knight, I suppose, at least that's what some realms would call your position. Can't say I miss the age of armor at all.
Perhaps you could help with magic training? I'm sure there are plenty of positions open for disciplined instructors with all the questing going on. Some defense skills, horseback riding, survival, all kinds of things you could train someone in without stepping on the King or his knights' toes.

Is that not stepping on the toes of our local instructors, in a way? I have offered practical instruction in the past, naturally so, but this is an entirely different audience.
[One that is still alive, really.]
