If I show someone everything around me, might you please point the way back, perhaps?

[ Karma's video feed shows him surrounded by many many trees as well, but it looks more like he's up in the higher branches of them, as far up towards the canopy as he's able to get that'll hold his weight. ]

Is everything around you just going to be more trees? What else is there?

I was told if you are lost you are to stay put... But there is a very large rock I passed. It looked like a mushroom.

[Alice walked back a bit the way she came, several minutes going by, and then she held up the camera to, as she said a large rock that looked like a mushroom.]

This mushroom I could sit on without having to be made smaller, though.

How's staying put supposed to help...?

[ It sounds like something a parent would say to a child, but he doesn't have that sort of family experience; he's long since learned to help himself when he's in trouble. ]

You don't want to be small when you're lost in the forest anyways, or something's gonna come out and gobble you up. Can you find your way back to that mushroom rock? That'll be a good place to start.

I'm not edible.

I think... it's meant that I'm not supposed to get MORE lost and just stay the little bit of lost that I am at the moment. Or well, not little, I've lost the path entirely. So I'm very lost... but you can always be MORE of something, I suppose, even when it's more of nothing. But you can't have any less of nothing.

[She's rambling, it helps her not focus on the fact that she's ALONE in a forest.]

Oh, I'm at the big mushroom rock now. But that's the only real change I've seen. Everything else looks so similar. [It's how she got, you know, lost.]

[ That aside... for how most Karma's trying to get her less lost, Alice's rambling makes him more lost in return, Karma giving up halfway in making sense of any of this. People talk with they're nervous, and if the background noise and distraction helps, it's all good.

He keeps an ear out for that rambling voice from where he sits perched in his tree, but isn't hopeful that she's coincidentally close by.

When she gets to the rock, though, there's something he can finally chime in on. ]

Great! All you need is a good rock when you're lost. Do you see all that moss on one side of it? What you need to do is walk in the other direction, where there is no moss. Go in as straight a line as you can, and if you're forced to choose a path when something's in the way, choose the right branch.

Oh dear. It looks like the young man has the right idea about locating some kind of landmark or notable scenery. Can you hear a river or anything?

In the meantime, do you have anything with you for food, perhaps a light sweater?

Oh, Mr. Fell... No, I did listen. I even asked the flowers and trees, but they're too fast asleep.

I showed him the rock that looks like a mushroom. [She sniffles and wipes at her eyes again. Trying very hard to stay calm.]

I have my cloak and some treats from the elves. You... you don't think I will have the spend the night out here, do you?

No, no, my dear. I just wanted to be sure you weren't uncomfortable while you waited. Just stay where you are, as long as you feel safe enough, and listen for others.

But... I'm getting so much different advice. I don't... I don't know what to listen to. One says move, one says stay. What if I get even more lost?

[She can't stop the tears that begin to fall, scrubbing at them and bowing her head. She doesn't like people seeing her cry.]

[Though no username is associated with the reply, the voice on the other end is that of a young male. Not terribly young, but definitely not a grown man.]

Are you close to the city or did you cross the farmlands into the other forest?

[The Brocéliande, or the Dusklight Woods? The least they can do is narrow down which forest she is in.]

I went to see the elves of the Red Springs. But then we all traveled down to the south beach. When everything was over, they just sent me on my way.

The Brocéliande is closer to the shore. If you didn't go very far, you're probably there.

Can you tell where the sun is?

I could climb a tree to see the sun? But the canopy is too thick. I can see that the sky is becoming a bit pink and red, though.

I met the elves at Red Springs, then we went down to the beach, but I don't remember how to get home from the beach.

The sea was over an hour ago. The only thing near me is the mushroom boulder.

I went to see the Red Spring Elves, then all of us, together, went down to the beach to see THOSE elves. But then they left and wished me luck on my travels home.
