Hello, everyone. Please excuse this question if it has been asked before; I only just arrived, so I'm still trying to get my bearings, but...

How common is it for people from the same world to arrive together? But not... really together? By which I mean, not from the same point in time. There seem to be many people I know here, but I'm not sure we all line up the way we should.

(That said, if anyone from U.A. is reading this, I think it might be prudent if we all got on the same page with regards to what we do or don't remember.)

Additionally, if there is anyone here who has experience with elemental magic and wouldn't mind showing someone who's new to it how to use it, I would be very appreciative.

I've been here for a few months and yeah, it's still weird.

Uh...not off the top of my head, but there's a lot in the elemental magic section. I'm still learning so I'm not sure how to tell bad from good right now.

Well, one would hope that if they think the books are worth putting in the library, that they would say least be somewhat good...

Basic Fire Magic's been helpful, and The Elements: A Guide. Kinda dense though.

I don't mind a little dense reading. I think I'll start with your second recommendation, to get a firm basis in the discipline as a whole, then decide which element I would like to start with. Fire seems to come to me the most easily, so far.

I started with fire to! It's the one I'm most used to, and what I used before, but I'm still trying to figure out how to transfer to the other elements.

I'm sort of figuring out water now.

My abilities prior to coming to Avalon weren't elementally related at all. If we were meant to get magic according to what abilities we had before, then I'm surprised I don't have alchemical magic.

Then maybe there isn't really a connection. I guess that would make sense...a friend of mine's magic is different from what he usually uses.

This feels like it got a lot bigger than it needed to.

It really does, doesn't it. Somewhat overwhelmingly so.

But we shouldn't let ourselves be overwhelmed. There is a way to learn this magic. Even if it's not what we're most suited to.
