I was wondering if I could implore some assistance.

I have offered to help with the arrows, but, I must admit to being more optimistic than anything. I have no clue how to shoot a bow and arrow. Is there someone who could help me learn? I do not wish to harm someone from my lack of knowledge.

Also, I am not entirely familiar with this holiday everyone is preparing for. I would not mind knowledge on that as well.

Well, swapping does imply that you have a recipe of your own to offer. So what shall I be sampling?

Hm, I suppose that depends on what you like and what I can find. But osmanthus pastries are quite fragrant.

The only thing I do not eat is meat. [When all animals are your friends and you can talk to them, it gets a bit awkward at the idea of eating their loved ones.] I do eat fish, however, and I shan't say no to a pastry. I have something of a sweet tooth.

Then I think you'll enjoy it. Though first I'll have to see if I can find any osmanthus flowers. [At least he's managed to find a place with a kitchen now.] However if the exact ingredient can't be found I'm sure I can replace it with another edible flower.

Clover is always pleasant, as are Honeysuckle petals. I could not tell you with confidence what is in bloom here.

Perhaps I will give both a try and if they are acceptable I can let you try and see what you think.

I must caution to not use anything OTHER than the honeysuckle petals, the rest of the plant is quite toxic.

How have you been settling in?

Well enough, I suppose. I am attending the school as there is so much I do not know but helping where I can with the various quests. I wish to find my own lodgings, soon.

School has been interesting. [And they get paid to go!] There is so much to learn in this place. Perhaps we could study together at some point.

[Study buddies are always good, right?]

I can understand that. The accommodations we're provided are fine but it's not the same as having a place of our own. [He huffs a short breath, almost a small laugh.] I will miss having free breakfast though.

I am tempted to look into more permanent employment, perhaps something to do with gardening or flowers. I am skilled enough on those matters.

It would be nice to find a place a bit more... quiet. [An inn meant people ALL the time and Aurora is not used to that in the slightest.]

Having more financial security is never a bad thing. People here seem to enjoy nature so I'm sure there are plenty of jobs related to those things.

[He could understand that. He had learned to deal with crowds and strangers but living full time in an innor any sort of communal housing isn't his preference either.]

The hotel is busy isn't it? Trying to find a moment to yourself outside of your room is difficult.

I'm sure I can find a lovely little cottage for myself, maybe close to the forest or something of that nature. But I am aware I must make an income first. Perhaps I can help with health with plants.

I don't think I ever asked, what sort of magic do you have?

Animal magic. I can communicate with animals just fine, but transforming parts of myself is still something that I'm trying with great effort to perfect.

Animal magic sounds like it has a lot of applications.

I have healing magic. I can't say I am proficient at it yet but it has been very helpful.

Healing magic is a truly great gift. I can only imagine how helpful you are.

I'm hoping to find work at a clinic to get more practise.

I need to find much more steady work, myself, I've been helping with quests but something that would allow me to move out is something I need to find.

Quests are useful but it's not a replacement for a regular income. You may also be able to find a place for cheaper if it's one that needs some work. Though if you are not used to doing repairs that might not be a feasible option.

Oh, I'm quite used to taking care of a home. A home in the forest is oft in need of repair, but there is no one else to help with repairs besides ourselves and our animal friends. And while birds are very considerate to help carry tools up to the roof, at the end of the day, it is you who needs to do the thatching.

[He had guessed as much which is why he brought it up. After all, she did mention living in the forest with only her aunts. Though it was possible that her aunts had done the work so he hadn't wanted to assume.]

It's good that the bird would help you carry those things. Are you certain you didn't have some form of animal magic before you came here?

Well, I could speak to animals before I came here, but I certainly couldn't transform into one like I can here.

No, not truly, I didn't even know I had gained the ability "back" you could say until one day I had accidentally given myself feathers.
