Good day. How are you all doing? I'll get straight to it, can anyone recommend some hobbies a fella could get into? I'm bored, and after sitting here for gods-know how many hours watching the cat do cat things, I realized that I'm probably in need of one.

Recent events left me knackered too, so I figure something to take the mind off unpleasant things would help. I usually just work all the time, it's only now that I have the problem of too much free time. Odd problem to have, isn't it?

I can recommend baking. It's very fun and easy to get into with the right recipes.

Baking has been on my mind. Seems like fun, but most I can do CORRECTLY in the kitchen is anything instant or boil and egg. One of my great regrets, leaving all the cooking to other people. I'd need a teacher and maybe a fire extinguisher.

I don't like not thinking, and frankly, I don't like social media in general. Too many things, half of the time I've no idea what I'm watching and the other half is mostly drivel. I think a hobby would be better than turning into some mindless goon.

It kinda makes me sound like an escapist when you say it like that, but - yes that is I guess what I want. It's more I just don't want to be idle, but I can't muster up the strength to work.

Sure. ] But have you tried gardening? I think it's really soothing! And it's quite rewarding to see your plants flourish in your care.

My sister tried to convice me to set up a garden but it was always too damn expensive, so it never really crossed my mind. Just always thought of it as a rich person's thing and I am frustratingly not that. Although, I have glanced at the prices of some plants and such here and they're radically cheaper than where I'm from. I just don't know left from right when it comes to this thing.

You're not completely wrong about that. Some plants are more expensive than others. But there are ways to be frugal with gardening!

As for learning how to, I'd be happy to teach you some things, if you're interested.

Greetings!

Even with all of the troubles we encounter, I've found Camelot a lovely place to enjoy all sorts of pasttimes. Personally, my favorites are learning the dancing styles that are common here... and listening to the music that goes with them, of course. It's all very different from that practiced in my home country!

Even if you are not interested in dancing per se... perhaps you can apply a similar process to your own avenues of exploration. Is there anything in Avalon that reminds you of home, yet is more (or perhaps less) robust in variety?

Nice to meet you Rinea, I'm Noah. I've never been formally taught how to dance, save maybe the little jig sister Nette taught us to do during the bonfire festival, but does certainly sound interesting.

I spend most of my hours working as a courier, so I'm on the route most of the time to really explore - not that I don't know how to dance, not them formal stuff anyway. My sister though has had the good fortune to learn how to to dance. She teaches the kids when she has the time.

Pick up an art!!! Sketching and painting are probs the easiest to jump into but there are sooo many options!

It's good for getting out your feelio too if you can't get your mind off something!

I can sketch a bit, helps when you're planning to build something or renovate. I dunno if I'm at all that creative honestly. I really respect the fellas who can just imagine something and put it to pen. Sister Nette told me since I was a kid she knew I wasn't going be the creative type lol! She's not wrong

This is gonna sound whack but like, I don't think you need to be all that creative to make art! Esp if you're just doing it for yourself.

My sketchbook is full of a buncha random subjects with no thought put into composition or meaning or anything like that. Just drew it cuz I saw it in person and thought it was neat!

Anyone can make art :)

Basketball! It's great! You get exercise, and get to run off a lot of energy, and gotta think about what you're doing while playing, and then you're so tired afterwards you don't think about other stuff and just fall down. And cold drinks taste really good when you're really, really tired afterwards.

Oh yeah! I played a lot of b-ball growing up, still have a few rounds with the lads when I'm home. I reckon I'm pretty good, if I do say so myself, but football is definitely more my sport.

I haven't really played that before, but I like the idea of the challenge of not being allowed to use your hands!

I donno if there's any courts around here for games, I haven't found any yet, or people to play with. I wanna though, especially if can mix it with magic. We weren't allowed to back at school, but think my magic I got here could be real fun to try with it.

We should play some time since you know how to!
