[It's pretty early in the morning when Sherry sends out her message. She was still trying to really 'get' the network, but it was starting to make sense.]

[Also no one should make fun of her awesome 1998 style username.]

Hi. Good morning. I'm Sherry Birkin. I only arrived here a few days ago so I don't really know anyone yet...

Which I guess makes this a strange question but I-

[There's a pause because of a very audible yawn.]

Oh! Sorry about that. Okay. Does anyone have advice on what to do about getting rid of nightmares? I've never really had them before but they're...pretty bad right now.

If not it's okay. I'm sure I can get used to them.

[There's another yawn that cuts off midway as she disconnects.]

I doubt it. If she's anything like the person who she reminds me of, he wouldn't ever be bothered at all.

And if you did, she would definitely tell you that.

She really would. She doesn't take anything she doesn't want to.

I...don't think you'd want to hear about what I'm seeing.

It's pretty scary.

I doubt you'll scare me, I've seen a lot of terrible things before. Zombies wouldn't scare me.

[Said the boy who had to shoot himself in order to summon a magical fighting ghost]

There...were worse things than zombies.

What do you mean? What other things are worse than zombies in your world?

I mean, I don't know what they're called.

There were these awful things that looked like people but they had been...uhm. They didn't have any skin. And their hands were replaced with claws and they stabbed people with their tongues. And worse stuff than that too.

[whatsamada]

[It was a good thing Ken was use to fighting shadows or else, he would be surprised by all of this. Even now, he was shocked to hear that!]

Are they still zombies? Maybe they're a more advanced kind if they're still eating people? It's just really creepy to hear that.

I don't know. They showed up at the same time. But I didn't see anyone turn into one or anything.

[God that would've been horrible.]

I never really saw one eat anyone either. ...Just kill them.

[whatsamada]

It makes me wonder what else is going on back in your world if there are other creatures outside of zombies.

[Pause]

Sorry you have to deal with that. It’s really not easy having to fight when you don’t know what’s going to happen.

I don't really know. I mean, my parents were involved with it but they never talked about work at home and

[She trails off.]

I didn't fight them. I just hid. Claire and Leon fought most of them.

[whatsamada]

Even if you didn’t fight, you still had to deal with them. I like to think that counts.

[Although, he had to raise an eyebrow or two at her. Hm....]

Sorry, Sherry, mind if I ask how your parents were involved?

I'm not really sure. I think Daddy, he...created the thing that turned him into-

[She cuts off.]

[He said after a long pause. If so, he couldn’t help but feel for her. How terrible was it to know her father was part of an experiment and only for him to turn into one himself?]

I’m still sorry though, it can’t be easy knowing your father was a part of this and then ended up being a creature he help created.

[That was something Ken wasn't expecting. As he looked at the message, he spoke to her in a low voice.]

Okay then, I just hope Sherry will be okay later.

She will. I'll do what I can for her.

It's...just a lot for a kid her age.

[whatsamada]

I can understand, it’s not easy having to deal with zombies at a young age.

Yeah...

[Sherry's just quiet then. She hadn't really had time to really think about what had happened. What her father had turned into, what had happened to her mother. It was this black cloud hovering just out of sight. Eventually it would catch up to her and she'd break down hard. But she kept managing to hold it off.]

[whatsamada]

[It was strange for Ken to suddenly be reminded of how trauma was for kids his age. He already knew Sherry had dealt with a lot but it was only recently.

He’s been dealing with his own issues for years.

He didn’t say anything for a moment wanting to see if she would continue. However...]

How are you feeling? Still scared?

[Ken's voice seemed to snap Sherry out of her sudden thoughts, and she made a soft, uncertain noise before she answered.]

I miss my mom.

[whatsamada]

[Ken found himself struggling to say something. As he heard her say that word, he froze up. Talking about parents was one thing but for her to suggest a specific parent? That was another.

That silence quickly turned into a long one as he really didn't how to respond back without letting his own feelings get in the way.]

I'm guessing you liked your mom more. [Pause] I don't blame you, I miss my mom too.
