[It's pretty early in the morning when Sherry sends out her message. She was still trying to really 'get' the network, but it was starting to make sense.]

Hi. Good morning. I'm Sherry Birkin. I only arrived here a few days ago so I don't really know anyone yet...

Which I guess makes this a strange question but I-

[There's a pause because of a very audible yawn.]

Oh! Sorry about that. Okay. Does anyone have advice on what to do about getting rid of nightmares? I've never really had them before but they're...pretty bad right now.

If not it's okay. I'm sure I can get used to them.

Thanks though.

[There's another yawn that cuts off midway as she disconnects.]

[It's hardly any time later that Walter sends a response. Her words have him curious, and he's wide awake at this time normally, being oriented towards a nocturnal lifestyle as he is.]

Have you checked the shops for enchanted goods? The faeries might be able to help if not, though be sure to have your payment in advance.

[His voice is young. Not quite as young as hers, but still young. Even though he's an adolescent, his voice has yet to change.]

Oh! I hadn't thought of that. I guess magic can do a lot of things.

[A pause.]

I...don't have any money.

[Hmmn. No money. That could be a problem. She sounds pretty young.]

Are you here on your own?

[He hasn't checked the other responses yet, but now he's tempted to.]

No, I'm staying with Claire.

But I don't really know how much money she has either?

[Money is kind of an abstract concept for Sherry. Her parents were highly paid scientists.]

She's a nice lady that has a large black dog called a barguest for a familiar, right?

I'm sure she can help you figure out how to get what you need.

[Whether that's helping her figure out how to earn money or going out and getting her something to help with those nightmares of hers.]

Yes, that's her! I just didn't want to bother her if I could figure out what to do myself...

[She hesitates.]

Sure, okay.

Did something happen to cause your nightmares?

[If she didn't really have them before but is suddenly having bad ones now... There must be a cause somewhere.]

Oh.

[Another long delay. And when she answers she's a lot quieter.]

There was uhm. An outbreak. Back home. [She understood enough of it to know it wasn't something magical. It was a disease.]

It turned everyone into zombies and monsters.

[Somewhere, off-screen, Walter's lips press into a thin line. This is exactly the sort of thing he has been working so hard to prevent.

...At least it isn't vampires.]

I see.

Even people who are used to things like that still get nightmares. So you're not alone in that.

[She is, in fact, surprisingly coherent for someone who has gone through something like that.]

I'll see what I can find out for you.

I fight monsters like that all the time.

I was kind of hoping there weren't more monsters like that.

There are more, but they aren't common.

If the monsters show up here and don't behave, I'll make them go away.

I hope they just won't. Nobody should go through what happened back home.

Even if people can protect them.

[Walter may not be as nice as Sherry is, but he hopes they don't have any outbreaks here, either.]
