How do you get a grumpy person to make friends? I'd like to meet more people, so should he right?

And I didn't sign him up for that friend thing because I like not being punted, I bet he would totally punt me.

[Woop, as Amy's doing that the chao is going to vacate its perch on Shadow to let her get that blanket on Shadow. Shadow merely lets out a soft snort and remains asleep, so good job Amy Rose.]

[ She freezes for a moment, worried that he might wake up despite her best efforts. But when he settles back down she breathes a soft sigh of relief, then finishes up tucking him in.

Turning to the chao, she nods her head towards the tiny kitchen. There isn't a lot of room, but she can still fix up a little snack for them. ]

[Shadow is out like the dead, so no worries on that front. The guy is a heavy sleeper when he does sleep after all.

Chompy on the other hand is going to make some excited noises when Amy nods towards the kitchen, heck yeah snacks! The chao is going to just drop the phone right where it is and make a beeline for the tiny kitchen, it's not one to say no to food after all.]

[ If she hadn't started sharing a room with him, she would have been more surprised. But she's figured out by now that when Shadow sleeps, he sleeps, so she does her work in the little kitchen, making sure it won't be too much noise and bother him.

In the meantime, she'll put out a plate of snacks for Chompy, motioning to it in a silent gesture to dig in. ]

[Pfft, be as loud as you want, is Chompy's thoughts as it makes it's way to the snacks and grabs the plate. Delicate is not a word in this chao's vocabulary, as Chompy starts scarfing down the snacks as if it's never been fed before.

Chompy has been fed, it just likes snacks.]

[ Amy is not at all surprised, used to Chompy's appetite by now. Starting in on her own snack, she glances back towards where Shadow is sleeping and takes a sip of her tea. ]

...how long has he been out?

[Inbetween bites is when the Chao will answer, babbling in the weird language of the Chao but hey. It's pretty sure Amy understands it, unlike Shadow, so it conveys that Shadow's only been asleep for an hour or two by its count.]

[ She doesn't entirely understand, at least not the same way Cream would. But she's been living with Shadow and Chompy long enough to figure a few things out here and there, so manages to get what the Chao is saying. ]

Oh really? [ Not too long then. Then again she doesn't usually catch him sleeping too often anyway, so she isn't actually sure how much sleep he really gets. ]

[Chompy nods in response, before resuming its snackage. There isn't much more the chao can do or say at this moment, because Shadow is sleeping like a baby and unless either Chompy or Amy does something super loud? He's not waking up.]

[ Amy has every intention to just let Shadow sleep. Unfortunately, it seems like the universe had other plans, as Amy gets up from her seat to pour herself some more tea and accidentally knocks her plate off the table. She yelps, jumping back as the plate shatters on the floor. ]

[Chompy lets out a little gasp of its own at the plate falling and breaking, as Shadow shifts a little in his sleep and...

Opens his eyes a little and stares right at the scene.]

Hmm... You okay?

[It's muttered, but the words are out.]

[ She glances at Shadow briefly before sighing, running a hand down her face. So much for letting him sleep. ]

Yeah, I'm fine.

[ The plate had been empty at least, so she only had the broken bits of porcelain to worry about. ]

Sorry, I didn't mean to wake you.

[And he's starting to get up, with a bit of a stretch and a few slow blinks.]

It's fine, I've slept enough.

[He can always pass out later.]

[ She pouts just a bit, because he definitely has not, but decides not to argue about it now. She can only hope that he would try to sleep a bit later.

Instead she starts on cleaning up the broken plate. ]

I don't know what's with me lately. I've been more clumsy lately. I keep dropping stuff at work too.

[ Luckily nothing breakable, but... ]

[Just going to sit up in bed, he notices that his phone is on the ground nearby and raises an eyebrow at that but says nothing about the subject. Instead, he'll focus on what Amy just said.]

That's odd, have you been resting enough?

[He knows that she can go overboard with things, so maybe that's what it is?]

[ She hums softly, sweeping up the broken plate shards. ] Maybe? I don't think I've really done anything different with my schedule.

[ She hasn't even taken on any new quests or anything lately. ]

You've been doing a lot, even before now.

[Does he mean before now, as in right now, or before Avalon? Hard to tell.]

[ She isn't entirely sure which he means either, so she hums noncommittally. ] I guess. But I've never been like this before.

[ Or at least, she doesn't think so.

She doesn't want him to worry too much about her though, so she shrugs a little. ] It's probably nothing. Maybe I'll go to bed early tonight and see if that helps.

[Shadow hums himself, as he gets up from his bed and heads towards Amy.]

Hopefully it is just that, but yes you should rest more.

[ She can't help a small smile to herself. Whether he says it out loud or not, she's still a bit touched that he's worried about her.

As she finishes gathering up the broken plate pieces (or at least, most of them, there still might be some smaller ones that flew off somewhere), she chews her bottom lip a bit as she debates whether she wants to bring up the thing she and Chompy had been discussing. ]

[Good thing neither of them walks about barefoot then, it's just the familiars that may find the stray tiny pieces. If there are any.

As Amy is finishing up, Shadow is getting off the bed and grabbing his discarded phone and is tucking it away when she speaks up.]

Yes?

[ Grabbing a bag to put the broken pieces in, she thinks for a moment, trying to decide how to approach the topic. ]

So...did you see that announcement that went up about the, uh...the Valentine's speed dating and friendshipping thing?

[What an odd thing to ask about, Shadow raises an eyebrow at the question.]

I saw something like that, I paid it no mind.

[Because dates and friendships are below his notice and are for other people.]

[ She couldn't help a soft laugh. ] I thought you might've.

But I was thinking about signing up. And I know we had talked one time about you maybe working on your, uh...people skills.

[Oh right, that conversation. One he kind of hope would have been forgotten.]
