How do you get a grumpy person to make friends? I'd like to meet more people, so should he right?

And I didn't sign him up for that friend thing because I like not being punted, I bet he would totally punt me.

I think it's fine for right now. I don't think he'll be alone here.

I just feel he'll find his way on his own.
It's not that I know that much yet, but guys like that just ask if we're needed.

Not allies, friends! There is a difference, you don't hang out with allies for fun.

And he's not alone, he's got me and the pink lady but he should have more you know?

And being needed and friend stuff is totally different.

[It's hard to make distinctions. Defining a "friend" when it's newer, different, difficult for one who's spent his lifetime sequestered. Attaching to "war-buddies" first. Those he's risked his whole life for. He's stumbling a lot at times, still, mimicking quietly all their traits he's allowed to. But his friends are his allies, and the words muddle through now, reach him here just a little bit slower.]

Of course it's different, one involves hurting each other and the other doesn't.

And trying is a good thing, and sparring is something he does too much of but whatever. If it gets him out meeting people...

I wasn't thinking we'd be friends before...
He only came here looking for beans last time, so it's not like I'd thought too long on it.

[Because how else would Chompy be able to do this is Shadow was awake and paying attention.]

I won't say it doesn't hurt sometimes, but it's only that moment.
It'll be permanent if we're not prepared. But that's what our training's for. I won't hurt anyone I don't need to.

I'll bet your friend feels the same now.
We're all just training for something worse here.

You're a better friend than any of us, so I'll hope you'll stay close to him.

He's the ultimate lifeform, so like he shouldn't need to train or stuff like that. That's the point of being ultimate!

And of course I'll stay close to him, someone has to take care of him.

I guess it wouldn't matter now. We've all lost our powers, so it's more like starting over again. I had a pretty strong Quirk myself, before.

But it's not that you're wrong. We wouldn't be training if everyone felt that way.
I think we'd be "normal" friends, maybe.

[No use wishing, though.]

Yeah well, apparently his magic is kind of close to his powers so it's not like he's had a hard time adapting? Or at least that's what he's said, I wouldn't know for sure you know.

And you two could probably be friends, normal or not. He just needs to get out more with people.

He said he wouldn't hold back before, but I've only fought Kinetics so far.

I guess I'm still looking forward to it.
I'd like to see what an ultimate lifeform can do.

Well, you'll be used to his then. He's kinetic and light.

[As to how good Shadow is with his magic, well... The question of hobbies makes the chao pout. Not that Shoto can see it.]

All he does is work or train, so no. No hobbies at all.

It might be tough, but we should find our common interests first.

I'll introduce him to my own this time.
I'm volunteering a lot, lately, but I'm sword-training too now.

[And gardening... growing strawberries... inadvertently ghost hunting...]

Maybe there's more for us than fighting.

And neato, I've never seen anyone use a sword before! Are you good at it or just starting out?

I don't doubt it...

Fighting was all I'd had freedom to do in the past, so it's probably not much different from me.
I'd like to think I've changed a lot since then.

But I've been using katana for months, by now.
I wouldn't call myself a swordsman yet, so I can only keep climbing.

I'm just wondering what Shadow wants.

That just sounds sad, having just fighting. Which is why I want to get Shadow some friends, so he can not be sad or something like that?

And neat, even if you're just getting there you're not haughty about it. That's good.

... I dunno what he wants, I mean aside from the whole save the worlds stuff you guys are here for. I'm pretty sure he wants that to happen.

I know I've found a lot more here, so maybe Shadow might too still.

But I've been thinking about the Knights more.
There's a samurai here—my sensei—so I train to be more like him when I can.

In any case, we'll work together if it's like that.
I guess I can probably trust you too, right?

And I hope so, even though he's been here awhile he's still kinda stand offish.

I'm joining the Knights as soon as possible.
The stronger I get, the more I can help there, and it feels like I'm close.

But I'm glad about that. My familiar's just a pain, so I'd say Shadow's lucky.
Kasha's more a monster, but he's useful, at least.

I wouldn't mind trading for something else.
