Hello, my name is May Chang and it is nice to meet you all! I was wondering if there is someone who would be curious to go on a quest with me. I'm still not use to learning the magic here so I would be grateful to you could help me out!

Also! I was wondering, what kind of things do you do here? I am not familiar with the technology either, so I am curious to see what is considered fashionable here! I heard a lot about this type of music called pop or hip hop? I'm not sure what it's supposed to mean but I would like to learn more!

(May, you’re definitely lucky that you asked because Harry has been diligently working on his kinetic magic to the point that the only thing he hasn’t gotten a good grasp on is flying.)

Oh yes, I can teach you all about kinetic magic, May: I have been working on it since I came to Avalon over a year ago. Some of the things you can do with it can range from moving things with your mind to teleporting to manipulating speed.

Yeah, it is actually brilliant once you get the hang of it. Very handy in many situations as well, whether it is teleporting people out of danger or carrying large stacks of cafe menus.

It almost reminds me of a similar magic back in my world as I was originally a wizard in there.

Yep, that’s definitely correct: I definitely have my fair share of adventures back in my world and there is a lot of them. Even faced a dragon for a tournament and rode on one as well.

There is this one time where I ended up slaying a Basilisk with a sword when I was 12 to find a way to save a friend.

I guess that a lot of people back home certainly do. After all, my world had just survived a war that me and my friends had gotten involved before I came here.

(Oh if only she knows that it wasn’t easy being the Chosen One/The Boy Who Lived with unwanted fame following after him and plenty of the Wizarding British community either liking him or hating his guts depending on who is being asked.)

It’s okay, May. It had ended over a year ago for me, though it is still difficult for me to talk about that freely.

(The pain still casts a dark shadow over him even after being away from home for that long, despite his attempts to not sound so gloomy.)

I heard that you were asking about the tech in here. My world has seen a lot of improvements in technology in recent years, but I never got to use any of them as I spent most of my time in a magic boarding school. I think that the PDAs in my world are similar to the smartphones in here.

Is that another word for cellphone? Because I don't even know half of the technology here! The most advanced thing I ever saw is people using the radio and making the train!

In a way, yes. They are these small computers that you can carry around, make texts and emails, play some games, and do some other things like updating the calendar and make lists.

My uncle used to own one that I would sometimes see him using with.

There are so many things here that I can't keep up with. First, it's cellphones and PDAs! And now computers! I don't even know how everyone here can handle it!

I know that very same feeling as well, it was that overwhelming and I was trying to get used to having a cellphone with me for weeks. It did took me a long while to get used to Avalon’s technology and technomancy since I had spent much of my time in a technology breaking school.

There is a good chance that there are some other people who hail from worlds and time periods where technology isn’t as advance or fascinating; some of the people I have met had never touched a cellphone in their life before coming to Avalon.
