video; un: mando
[The video opens, shaky at first before coming into focus on one of these majestic creatures. Din's commentary is less impressed and more just. Done.]

These are the horses we're supposed to look for, right? Someone's got a weird sense of humour.
I've seen better looking blurgs.
[The horse notices Din and starts to come over, it's face taking up more and more of the frame in a horrifying way until he stops recording.]

sorry for the delay
[He can do that much at least.]
no worries! :) it's the time of year for it
Okay. [He murmured a few things quietly to the one that had initially approached him, and it definitely seemed to respond. Keith wasn't quite comfortable with outright just having an open conversation with animals, yet, because he felt silly if someone was watching him, but he definitely didn't mind doing this.
He maneuvered the small group together to a safe spot for now, easing them and settling them, getting them to agree to stay together and close by with promises of getting them back to their stables and human companions.]

It doesn't take long before he comes across a couple more horses? who are spooked. And Keith might hear some sounds of struggle coming from the bushes and Din attempts to calm them. Also some weird noises that might be the braying of horses?]
Hey, hey...come on! I've got your friends over here...
no subject
It was a little difficult, because Keith often had trouble calming himself when he got worked up.]
Hey... easy... easy? [Keith gingerly put his hand out, trying to avoid that beak again.] We'll get you home. Just... take it easy. [Some of them started to come down, and that, in turn, got the others to calm, too.] There you go. See? We'll get you back. I promise. [There was a pause as some of them made some noises, mostly huffs and grunts, and then Keith shook his head.]
I don't know about that, sorry. Maybe Archimedes can help with the curse. Let's get you back to the stables first, okay?
[Keith glanced over at Din and then nodded.] The others should still be where we met up.
no subject
Were you just talking to them?
[He'll let Keith lead the way and try to guide any stragglers.]
no subject
Uh, yeah. It's part of the animal magic thing. [The whole reason Din had found Keith being captured back in the fall.] We can understand each other.
no subject
So, do I want to know what they're saying?
no subject
[Keith shrugged.]
I think I can keep them calm until we get them back to the stables.
no subject
Is there anything else I can do?
[He really wasn't trying to scare them, but he also doesn't speak horse.]
no subject
[Keith couldn't help but wonder if the helmet was bothering them. It made for a mechanical sounding voice, and the horses might not like the lack of a true face.]
The helmet might be spooking them? Do you need to keep it on?
[He wasn't going to push if Din said he wanted to leave it on... and it was a theory. Keith hadn't exactly asked why they were upset with the guy.]
no subject
[And unfortunately, some spooked horses are not enough for him to consider removing it.]
I can help with keeping the group together though, and I can bargain, if necessary.
no subject
Alright. We'll figure it out as we go.
As for now, though, they do seem to be calming down a bit, so it might not be so bad after all... just as long as something else doesn't come along to spook them again.
no subject
That might help if I keep my distance a bit.
no subject
[Was Keith jealous? Yeah... his didn't work, yet.]
no subject
More or less. They don't go very far but it's enough for our current purposes.
no subject
[Keith nodded.]

It still works... but I noticed that some stuff has a limit on how often I can use it, so I don't want to wear it down. I was able to get something from the traders that recharges things... but I haven't gotten it for my helmet, yet.

And they're more or less decent with ammunition.

[Keith had a unique metal, too, in his Marmora dagger. Luxite no longer had a source planet that anyone knew of anymore, either.]
no subject
I'm lucky to have a full suit of it. That's rare these days.
no subject
I have something similar. A weapon. It's a rare metal that only this group uses. No one else does. Not many others can.
[Luxite was extremely rare, and only those of Galra descent who proved themselves in the Trials of Marmora were able to activate it to change forms.]
no subject
That unique, huh? Sounds important. I'm assuming you're one of the lucky ones who can use it?
