I think since coming here I had heard something about that land and time period. I mean I am not surprised. Honestly, where I'm from back home is much wetter than this and certain things like indoor heating are not usable. We just use magic if we really need to or get by otherwise.

I have been using indoor heating daily since I learned of it here. My mother is the strongest witch of previous generation, but we have none of our family's magic here. What manner of magic do you have where you hail from?

Those of us that do use magic, we can do wind, fire, and water-based spells. Along with many other fields of magic, such as alchemy, flight, and such. Really, it isn't any different than this place's specialties. We are just less locked in.

Of course, my hometown is underwater, so fire doesn't work as well.

Yes! Not being able to fly is such a pain. I still have my wings at least, can you imagine if they took a part of my body from me along with my magic?

I've focused largely on my primary magic. I find it important to focus on one thing at a time when it comes to mastery, and alchemy is more pleasant anyway.

You do Alchemy? My friend Azul also knows that discipline here. I was gifted with healing, which I am told is quite unfitting for me, though I cannot fathom why.

I think where I'm from, the 🐊 and 🦛 would eat anything like a mermaid, but I've heard of them here. I was warned they like to eat souls.

I think I could defeat either of those creatures if I had to. And well, I cannot speak for the mermaids here, I will have you know, I do not eat souls. Or people.
And also, eating me will not make you immortal either.

That's a whale. But I don't think that is a bad choice. I would have suggested a dolphin, or shark, since those are what my brother liked to use to symbolize the two of us, but think the whale works too.
