I am from the desert. I have seen it once as a child, and it blended into the sands and it was back to a normal temperature shortly. It was nothing like this.

I'm no fool, I purchased winter wear.
Being buried in snow is not something that I have experienced before.

Hmmm. I've never killed anything in the snow before, but I can see why. The dunes of the desert give a much warmer backdrop for it, but the red would be much more saturated in the snow. You've a keen artistic mind!
