[This ought to come as no surprise, really. Aerith spends a decent amount of her free time in the flower shop and usually if she appears on Avalon's network, it's there. That's precisely where she is on today's little impromptu Camelot interruption.
Resting on her forearm against front desk counter, she wears a smile, though it's a bit lighter than she normally gives.]
It's been a while since I said anything on here and I realised I should probably fix that. For those of you who don't know me, my name is Aerith. I run a little flower shop here in the business district of the town. I was in the middle of putting a nice little patio setup outside for people who come by, but it's getting a bit colder, so I think that's going to have to be put on hold until it warms up again.
[Taking a pause to sip from the cup of tea at her side, she sets it down before she continues.]
I know I've said this before, but if any of you have flowers or seeds from your home, for whatever reason that you would, if you bring them to me, I'll try to grow you something. I'm also really interested in trying to crossbreed some flowers, especially from anything that might be capable of surviving the colder weather. If you've already purchased flowers from me and you're having trouble with them, you can pay me a visit any time and I'll fix them up for you.
[After a moment's consideration, she sinks down a bit, shifting to settle her chin in the palm of her hand.]
And you know, with the weather getting colder, it's easy to get sick. Make sure you're taking care of yourselves. I don't normally offer this, but I have some healing magic, so if you find yourself not feeling well, I might be able to help you out there. I'm not a doctor or anything, but I like to think I know marginally what I'm doing. At worst, I can make you a nice pot of tea.
[That seems to be all she has to say because not long after, she turns off her video and audio feed.]

Hey, can I ask you to do a favour for me?
no subject
And, I'm both! I also do a little bit of everything else, too, but weapons and armor are my specialty.
no subject
I'm sure the locals are loving you. Have you thought about selling any of your crafts to the townsfolk? I'd like there not to be a need for such things, but that's not really the case, I've noticed. Your skills might be put to the test more often than you're expecting.
no subject
I kind of already am? I got a job offer from an established smith when I got here a few months ago, so I've been pretty busy since.
...Which was a huge relief, because the last time I had to look for a job in a new realm, it took ages to find one.
no subject
Do you make it a habit of visiting 'new realms'?
[The way she asks it is a bit tongue-in-cheek. Her amusement, however, is palpable. She has no way of knowing how long he's been in Camelot, but he seems a tad nonchalant. It's one of the more sound approaches. She dislikes little more than seeing someone brought to the Isle and being miserable about it.]
no subject
Mmm, well, where I come from, it's pretty easy to travel between the six known realms, but I don't know that I'd call it a habit?
no subject
I see... So basically being brought here probably wasn't a real shocker for you. How many worlds have you seen? And how would you rank this one in comparison?
no subject
Well, yes and no. I mean, I didn't come here on purpose, so that part was a surprise! I've been to all six of the known realms, back home. This one reminds me of the Feywyld and the Earthly Realm. I'd...mmm...I'd like it here a lot better if I weren't worried about my friends and family back home. But it's not terrible?
What about you? What's it like where you came from?
no subject
[Besides, absence makes the heart grow fonder, right?
His question is one that she gets asked often—about what Midgar's like—and admittedly, she doesn't like talking about it very much. Camelot is a much nicer place in comparison and there's just no gentle way to discuss the difficulties Midgar and its people endure.]
My home isn't very much like Camelot. I haven't really travelled much outside of the city that I live in, at least, not that I can remember, so I don't know a lot about what's outside of it, but the city is kind of complicated and not the best place to be. It's home, though. There are definitely days that I miss it.

[He listens to her describe where she's from with interest, because hearing about other worlds is always interesting. He's not sure, but he thinks it sounds like she may have some complicated feelings toward her home? An introductory conversation probably isn't the best time to push for more details, though, so after a thoughtful pause, he switches tracks slightly.]
Hmm...Have you been here for very long? It's already been four months for me.
no subject
[After a breath, she continues.] And that's assuming you want to believe what we're being told. It's not as if they've given us any proof, unless you want to count your familiar as that. I don't. But we also don't have any proof that they're lying. What other choice do we really have right now?
[Aerith lifts her shoulders as she shakes her head. She doesn't know what to think of it all herself. She has just enough scepticism to be dangerous, perhaps. She doesn't swallow everything she's given, for sure.]
Hm... How long have I been here. It's been a while. Not quite a year, but close. I think. I've been here long enough to lose track of time.
no subject
[That's a rhetorical 'you know', because it appears as though she and he are on the same page, here. He can tell she gets it.]
Wow...A year's a long time. [He sounds pretty somber when he says that. He's trying to picture being stuck here for an entire year, without knowing what's become of his family and friends, and it's not looking like a great time.] Have you been all by yourself this whole time? I mean, has anyone from your world shown up?
...Sorry I'm asking a lot of questions. I'm not trying to be nosy.
no subject
No, no. I have some people here from my world. A couple of them live with me, actually. I'm very lucky to have that, though I guess at the same time, I feel bad that they're here, too. It's a difficult position to be in. I'm grateful and guilty that I'm happy to have their company. A lot of people here don't have anyone from their home world. It can be lonely here and I don't want anyone to feel lonely.
[So clearly she means that people can borrow her friends whenever they want. If they want. That's not what she's saying, but the real implication is that Aerith knows what loneliness is and would go out of her way not to have others experience the same thing.]
What about you? On your own right now? If so, I'll do my best to help out where I can.
no subject
But I'm not alone alone - I've made some friends here! The guy who hired me - Darin - He's been absolutely amazing.
[Just as an example.]
no subject
[Aerith brightens up considerably. Honestly, she's just glad that he's making friends. Mind, in her opinion it's pretty easy to do that if one's open-minded here. Just about everyone she's ever met in Camelot has been absolutely wonderful to her. And those who haven't... Well. Single digits, really.]
He's a friend of mine, too. He's asked for my input on some flowers once or twice since I've been here, though I think I've probably bugged him more about his profession. I don't know anything about crafting weapons or anything like that, but it seems like that's an expertise of his. He's real good at making people feel welcome, too. No one's being mean to you, right? If they are, I'll have some strong words with them.
[She's trying to sound menacing, but that's just not something Aerith is particularly well-versed at.]
no subject
[It's no surprise to Griffin that Aerith knows Darin. Darin seems like the kind of guy who knows everyone, so this tracks.]
He's really skilled - he's definitely the guy to ask if you want to know anything about smithing. - Um.
[He blinks, though obviously she can't see it over the voice chat, when she asks if anyone has been mean to him. It's such an abrupt segue, but also? They've been chatting for maybe five minutes and she's already offering to (verbally) throw hands for him? What has he done to deserve such an offer? What a nice person! ;w;]
No, no one's been mean to me. [Occasionally someone will be a little rude - not that he notices - but not mean.] Everyone I've met so far has been pretty nice! Why? Is that something that happens a lot?
no subject
No. Not that I'm aware of anyway. [The grin in her voice is evident.] I'd say in my time here, I've only ever had one person actively rude to me. [And then there's Sephiroth, but he hasn't exactly been mean. To be fair, it's almost seemed as though the whole being killed by him has been equated to 'nothing personal.']
I wouldn't expect it. But if anyone ever is, welllllll. We just can't let that happen now, can we?
no subject
Well, if anyone is ever mean to me, I'll definitely remember who to tell.
[He'll remember who to tell, but he prooooobably won't. He's a big boy, he can take care of himself. Anyway, he'd feel terrible if he got her into trouble.]
As for rude...well, sometimes someone might just be having a bad day, you know? I always try to give the benefit of the doubt. There's no telling what someone might be dealing with.
no subject
[At least, it would make no sense to her for someone to do so.]
Were you planning to open a craft shop here? Like... a... a smithy, I guess it'd be called. If not, then I'm sure locals or other smiths could use collaborators.
