[He's good on his word, finding a comfortable seat in the cafe and splaying himself in said chair like a proper delinquent. He's not hard to spot; Xue Yang tends to stand out like a sore thumb even in his mostly black attire.]

[Gokudera has so much mochi. One of his employers has a familiar that produces it, so he's giving a vast majority of it to the café to sell, and then there's a whole box with a variety of flavors he's saved for this occasion.]

Xue Yang

[The teenager approaches, looking much more like a grouch than a brat, but his words betray him as he holds the mochi up.]

They're all yours as long as you keep your blades to yourself.

[And he moves to take a seat and slide the mochi across the table at him. Gokudera looks comfortable in a heather grey cardigan over a white button-down. He's wearing black slacks, loafers, and at least three belts. The outfit would look nice except that he's sporting so many bracelets and rings that it looks like he robbed a Hot Topic. Then there's the collar about his neck, jingling and blending in with the other accessories.]

[What an awful problem! Come, let him help. He always has room for sweets or any delicacy, really.]

[His smile is too sharp - those canine teeth are interesting, aren't they? But don't worry, he's not a vampire.]

Why would I hurt you? You're just a kid.

[Teasing! He opens the bag enthusiastically and his smile widens at the sheer amount of mochi. Oh the possibilities!]

Gokudera, why are you giving me these anyway?

[A man like him doesn't live long if he isn't wary.]

Good, if stupid conversation isn't so easy to come by. You were entertaining.

[And he had fun poking at him. Gokudera won't honestly be offended by being called "just a kid" though it does mildly grate his nerves.]

You don't look as old as I remember.

[A twitch at the corner of his lips helps to convey he's just teasing. Xue Yang won't be the only one.]

I've given plenty away, and I remember you mentioning something about liking sweets.

[He shrugs, trying to come across as nonchalant even though he cares a great deal with pretty much every person he interacts with.]

I told you, I don't have a beard. If I had one, I would look just as old as you imagined.

[He's being dumb. It's more fun to tease kids, isn't it? They're so cute and his teasing isn't anywhere near the violence he experienced as a kid. In a way, he's letting them off easy.]

Sweets are my favorite~ [Which is why he is partaking now. The mochi will be shared with Xingchen too later. And maybe Ying, his raccoon dog.]

I can buy them now - barrels of them if I get paid well - but I like getting them like this.

[As gifts. As favors. It helps heal the wound caused to his heart so long ago.]

I bet you and I imagine different types of beards. You’d look gross with one.

[Gokudera can use his magic to create an illusory beard for Xue Yang. In fact he’s already imagining it and it is lumberjack-esque.]

I didn’t need to purchase them. My employer has more than she knows what to do with.

Mean! [He purses his lips, full pout, chewing the mochi contentedly.] What about a little one, right about here? [He pokes the center of his chin. A goatee.]

Lucky! It's nice of her to share.

You have a mirror? I can let you try one on…

[Gokudera likes this guy, thinks he’s funny and interesting and doesn’t seem to be taking anything too seriously.]

She is very nice.

I can find something reflective. [Please, let him laugh at how ridiculous he looks with facial hair. Xue Yang knows it won't suit him.]

Is that what you like in an employer?

Once you do, you’ll have that little beard.

[Unfortunately, the illusion will only last so long as Gokudera is around. He sees it already and the hairs are unruly. The boy is having to bite his lips to keep from laughing.]

I wasn’t looking for an employer. I was trying to commission someone to work on an accessory of mine.

[This gremlin can be pretty charming when he sets his mind to it. He acquires a hand mirror from someone nice nearby and stares at Gokudera expectantly.]

[He arches a dark brow, inquisitive.]

[He opens the mirror and stares. And stares. And then starts laughing.]

I couldn't even use this as a disguise!

[He looks...so wrong.]

Mm you do like belts, don't you. [Yeah, he's noticed.] Models...? What does that mean?

No! Actually you could, but your hair would have to be shorter… messy.

[He’s tempted to change that, but instead gets up and walks around.]

Hang on… eyes on the mirror.

[He’s just going to change the reflection, and the hair on Xue Yang’s head changes to match his goatee. If he were to reach up, he’d feel his hair is unchanged. This is all the magic in reflection.]

Uh, she’s a fashion designer? She makes clothing, I wear it so she can see it as a realized image.

Say what? [No one has short hair like that in his world. Thus Xue Yang looks skeptical, but he gives it a chance. The messy black hair probably suits his delinquent nature better and he smirks slowly.]

Do I look good? What kind of magic do you have anyway?

[His nose wrinkles. A fashion...designer.]

So she's a seamstress? A tailor? Okay, I get it. That would be helpful for her.

It's a good disguise. You look very different.

[He won't go feeding compliments. The goatee looks strange and messy and so does the hair in the reflection. Not his taste, but if Xue Yang finds it entertaining, that's the entire point of this.]

Light magic.

[And he pretty much has a mastery of it, though won't be saying anything like that, considering he's a bit too modest.]

She designs clothing you've probably never seen before. If you're interested in fashion, her name is Miwako.

Mm I do. [Not in the way he wants. He likes his long hair and he takes care of it (based on how it shines).] If I ever need to disappear into a crowd, I'll come to you.

[Light magic. That's funny.]

I'm your opposite then. [Shocking!] Mm it might be interesting to see what she can do. Daozhang and I will need new clothes eventually.

Sure.

[He has no problem making Xue Yang look unrecognizable. It's fun, actually. Gokudera doesn't get to have fun very often, stops himself too much.]

Sure. What other magic do you have?

[Anything opposite to elemental by any chance?]

[Fun is a great part of life! Gokudera will enjoy more of it if he sticks around Xue Yang. This man is indulgent when it comes to sweets and laughter.]

Death. [Which doesn't shock him.] I worked with similar magic back home.

It must have been a relatively easy transition, coming to this world. You're very lucky. It's not opposite to elemental magic, but if it's similar, that's a good thing.

[Gokudera seems honestly quite happy for Xue Yang.]
