Hey people.

[The man in the dark shades waved coolly at the screen as he sat on the edge of a small stone fence. It was freezing cold outside but in spite of the clouds that appeared whenever he spoke Crowley didn't seem to notice.]

We've all been brought here, had our powers taken and dolled out to us again in much smaller pieces... it's inconvenient, like being trapped in a baby walker... or trying to save the universe with your hands tied behind your back.

Point is, I need some volunteers who are skilled with Light magic, Healing magic, Animal magic, Kinetic magic and maybe another Elemental magic user who thinks they would be up to controlling sand. Think of it as training.

Also Angel, meet me on the Inn roof before midnight. Not sure it would work with an angel and a demon but if it does we could use some good luck for the new year.

[He doesn't know about the fireworks. Those are going to be a nice surprise.]

[ Frown. It was like Alec knew he ought to avoid his clutches. ]

[ A boy scout bearing tea, he could work on adding a spark of mischief to that but he wasn't going to say no to the tea. Crowley snaked out his hand and took a good long sip before bobbing his head at the giant stump laying in the middle of the backyard. ]

That's the problem. Think you can shift that thing? It would be out of the way if you can lift it over this fence.

It's an eviction. I would just like to do it nice and easy instead of... digging them up or... you know.

[ He made a gesture of cutting across his neck with a finger. ]

It would be too messy that way.

Cheating! There is no cheating here.

Maybe a little, if I can convince people to help out, but... this would just be us, a white board, and a little chat. Don't you want to find out what trouble I'm getting into before you have to sweep in and clean it up?

Okay, I suppose I can help with that to avoid an unnecessary mess.

What am I suppose to convince to leave?

If no one else volunteers, I have light magic. I can't fight, however, so maybe I should be the last resort?

(It looks like that stump needs to be moved out as far as Crowley is trying to tell, he is hoping that his project is going to work out well.)

I had some initial struggles in lifting heavier items for some time, so I was originally cautious about that before practising my magic more diligently. But since you asked, I’ll try my best to get that thing out of the way. It does require me to concentrate though.

(So he motions his right hand with help from Rose who is hiding in his jacket pocket to lift the stump from the ground before he then guides it to float over the fence as instructed.)

Has anyone really been here long enough to be considered "skilled"?

I don't mind being a volunteer but I wonder I'm curious what kind of training are you thinking of?

I'll volunteer to train with Light Magic. I've already got a solid grasp on it so far.

[The teenager lifts up a stick of dynamite.]

I also have tools to train with that won't drain magical energy. [Yep. Dynamite are tools for him when it comes to training. Hey, it makes the shields stronger if he can use them to contain legitimate explosions.]

[ As it required concentration Crowley remained seated and quiet on his fence, happily drinking his tea while poor Harry struggled under the weight of that stump. It had been a fairly large one and some of the roots held onto the ground not wishing to let go but with Rose's help it was managed. There was already a small pile of debris on the other side of the fence from some farmer's labors and the large stump settled nicely into it. ]

That didn't look hard for you at all. How do you think you would do at building? You see
those cut boards over there by the back of the house?

[ Right by the back door of the small cottage there was a pile of precut and worked pieces of lumber from the same farmer who had been trying to clear this field no doubt. ]

Do you think you could use that same magic to put them together... They are supposed to be notched and everything, ready to fit together like Lincoln logs.

Are you familiar with Caddyshack? There is a whole family of evil gophers that won't take the moving day hints and I would rather not blow up this entire field with dynamite just to get rid of them.

Maybe you can talk them into packing up?

Never said anything about fighting. What I had in mind was a sort of sustained light source kind of deal, like a miniature sun. Ever tried to make anything like that?

I have no idea how long any of you have been here.

[ That would have required asking people about themselves... ]

Besides some of you might be naturally gifted or magic using locals.

[ That was so pointedly stated that Crowley stared blankly at the screen for several awkward moments of silence. ]

Uh, yeah.

[ He ought to say something more? Elaborate on that... ]

That depends on what sort of magic you have.

[ Excuse him while he draws away from the screen with shock. ]

Is that dynamite? I just told some kid I was trying not to blow things up and you're offering dynamite??

Well, that is going to an interesting round of training today. Alright, let me see if I can pull this off.

(Upon looking at the notched up lumber pieces, he could see that the farmer was trying to build something out of these lumber.

So he carefully brings up the lumber pieces and begins to assemble the lumber together, looking at each notch and locking them into place, and he has built something mighty fine out of them.)

Well, how did it look?

Oh then I can definitively help! I can make them in all shapes and sizes. Like dancing lights, orbs.

What do you need it for?

[ Not even Crowley had been entirely sure what the thing would look like until it was built but it came out like the framework of a outbuilding. It was smaller than the cottage behind them but large enough to walk inside and stand comfortably. It was breezy with only the outlines of where walls would be but that he could work with this. ]

I have no idea what he wanted to use this for but I think it will work. He never said... don't touch the wood pile...

[ Crowley spoke idly to himself as he stood and wandered around the partially built structure. Finally he addressed Harry. ]

Yea, gold star, it looks sturdy enough I don't think it will fall down.

Plants. They hate the winter sun. There isn't enough light and its too bloody cold... But if they had a miniature sun of their own they could grow even if it is winter.

Ah! Well, I don't know how much it will warm them up. This magic light doesn't make much warmth.

Have you tried lightbulbs? They get really warm. I'll still do it but you know, a plan B is always good.

Hopefully he doesn’t mind this being done for him. I must have wondered why he didn’t build this right away.

(For as strange as this training is going so far, it is still an interesting experience regardless, at least it gets him to practise his kinetic magic more. He was wondering if there is more in store.)
