In light of recent events, I have some things to say.

The loss of life in Celliwig is deeply regrettable, and while we were able to save many from Lestari, there were still those who did not survive. I know that many of you may be feeling that you did not do enough.

[He certainly feels all those losses, for civilian casualties are always regrettable.]

But we may also look upon these failures and learn from them. Those who fought the dragon now know how it behaves and what its weaknesses are, so if it returns, we will be more prepared. Mourn the dead, but look upon these losses as a way to better prepare for the future, so we may not repeat our past mistakes.

Ah, they're certainly words worth hearing.

[He expects those who are shorter-lived to take these 'failures' harder than those for whom longer livespans have offered perspective.]

But I find the words most worth hearing are the ones hardest to listen to.

I entirely agree. Particularly at times like this. [But he huffs out a soft sigh through his nose.]

The natives aren't likely to find themselves so easily trusted the next time they ask for our help with something.

[He lets out a soft huff through his nose.]

That may be easier said than done.
