video + action // un; Berserker
[ Video + potential action]
For those of you that are digging for the dragon's horde and wish to keep some for yourself. That's cool and all, but remember to at least give away most of what you're able to. Things kept and horded by greed, and guarded by malice, often hold a certain weight to them. That said... I'm still not fully put together, need a bit of helping digging through the rubble. For those able and willing to, the help will be appreciated.
[And true to his word, anyone taking a trip to the ruins of what was once the dragon's lair will find a worn Beowulf, attempting to move rubble and collect what he could from what was left from the horde. Whether the treasure was damaged or not. It could all help in some way, he figured.]
[Video sometime later // Locked to
fujimaru]
[He adjusts the large back on his shoulders, the sound of jingling resonated from it. A chosen assortment of goods he had picked out of the rubble. Not quite as valuable as the ones he'd been planning on giving away, but still quite precious. He didn't think it would be much, but with any luck it'd make her life a bit easier. Not like he was going to keep any of it, it was better to see that his master was better propped up in any case.]
Oi, master. Where can I meet you?
[He tried making it sound less like a demand as much as he could. Though the gruff and to the point tone in his voice most likely made it difficult to distinguish.]
[Video sometime later // Locked to
peninhand]
[Right, one last gift. It might be a bit late, he realized. And perhaps not the best time. But he figured she might still enjoy the bit of attention or acknowledgement for her day of birth. Besides, he felt bad for having taken off and not shown as he had.]
Monika, you able to meet up?
[Probably a sudden call, but he was never one to beat around the bush.]
[ooc: just a real quick log post to try and help wrap things up with him event-wise.]

Wwwwwwhat am I supposed to do with this...?!
[ There's the obvious, of course, but also! This is very possibly the most money she's ever seen in her entire life! She's heard about Gilgamesh's stash, of course, and she's seen the jewels that Ishtar will fling around without thought. She's seen how things go during lottery season! But this is so much! ]
I-I mean, thank you, but, uh--is this really okay?! Shouldn't you be giving this to, I don't know, someone else?!
no subject
Keep what you want and liquidate the rest?
[A shrug, really it was up to her now. He never really cared much for treasures beyond their potential use financially (tax wise especially). The thought leaves a bad taste in his mouth. But seeing her shock gets a smirk from him. Ah-- the fruits of labor.]
It's already a small bit of what I didn't give away already.
[Small he says, meaning there was more, precious shinies.]
Look, you'll need it. Use it to get out of here if you want. Or move in with me or one of the other servants. Or whatever else you'd want it for.
[In truth it would be a load off his mind if she did move out of the inn and with one of the servants.]

[ How much money was in that dragon's hoard?! She wants to know, but also, she's not sure she actually wants to, either. At this point, she's still trying to process suddenly having more money than she's ever seen before in her life; the comment about moving out mostly goes straight over her head.
(And also because, in true Ritsuka fashion, she's already started making her own independent plans. All of her shopping before this is very clearly camping supplies.) ]
Jeeze, are you sure it's okay to just give this to me...?
no subject
[It's a dragon's hoard. There would have been tons of shiny, glittering prizes. Most of which has probably already been either looted by others, or forever lost to the Shadow Realm.
In either case her next question was met with a pat on the head by a still bandaged hand. He seems to be doing that a lot lately.]
More than sure. It's yours to do with as you want.
no subject
That's... I mean, I'm not ungrateful, I--
[ DEEP BREATHS, Ritsuka! Deep breaths. ]
--thanks. For real.
no subject
[Even if she didn't take it he'd still give it away. Giving away treasure was kind of his schtick. Still her reactions do cause him to feel the tingle of mirth bubble up from in him, forcing itself out in the form of a bubbling, deep chuckle.]
...Take your time. I know it's a lot to take in. Maybe you can tell me what you were planning on doing with all that?
[Gestures to her purchases.]
no subject
[ It's going to get colder soon, she's sure, but so far! Things are fine! Her tone is absentminded as she answers, still focused on trying to sort through the loot. At least now she doesn't have to worry about the moral dilemma of pawning the one monetarily valuable item she brought with her from home, now... ]
Right now, I'm mostly thinking I could buy lunch.
no subject
[He tilts his head, camping for what was the unasked question that reflected in his eyes. In the bag itself she'd find all manner of precious gems, the remains of plates, goblets and other items crafted from precious materials. Along with ornate, damascened blades that followed the same pattern as the rest. She be low key rich.]
Mm, you can. And dinner, and tomorrow's meals, and the day after tomorrow and so on.
no subject
[ Ish. It's nice enough. They've certainly been out in worse conditions before, and Ritsuka's not worried about what this place can throw at her, after Russia and Scandinavia.
She pulls out one of the gold coins, squinting at it. There's a part of her that wants to bite it, like what people sometimes do in cartoons; it's only because she has an audience that she doesn't. ]
I could probably even buy desserts... I'm definitely set.
no subject
[Still the question for him remains, why was she camping now? In fact...]
Any particular reason?
[Also, said gold glints in the light of the room. Like it was brand new, in spite of all the dust. So shiny. So very gold.]
Desserts, more and better camping supplies, a house, whatever you want. And whatever happens you're going to be set for years to come.
no subject
[ Now she's kind of hedging about it. Ritsuka's only a good liar in certain situations, and because it's not an actual life or death kind of thing, she's pretty much an open book. It's not just "no real reason," but she's doing her best to hedge around it. Rather than look him in the eye, she continues idly sorting through the bag. ]
Anyway, this is... it's really nice of you. Thanks.
no subject
Not telling the whole truth doesn't help anyone, master. And in the case of camping, might be dangerous. Or potentially not helpful to you.
[He wouldn't let it go completely. Of course not, why would he when she was probably all sorts of stressed right now? Even less so when she was avoiding his staring. He certainly won't stop her, but he also would rather have the knowledge that she was going to be fine.]
Not a problem. If you ever want or need something let me know; or let any of the others know if you're not comfortable with me.
no subject
[ After a long pause, she just shrugs, rocking back on her heels to look up at him. ]
I'll be okay, I promise. I've got some decent camping gear--I can get some better stuff with this. But I just don't wanna be in the way for a little bit. I couldn't do anything in the big fight--but I don't mind camping out for a week or two, you know? The people who lost their homes are having a harder time than I am.
That's all.
[ She knows it isn't much, in the grand scheme of things. It might even be selfish--but it's something she does feel like she can do, and so she wants to do it. ]
no subject
[A head tilt, unsure of why she would ever even think that in the first place.]
...What happened, happened and was bou d to happen regardless. And while your decision is thoughtful why this route specifically? Do you feel that much of a burden that you wouldn't ask to share a roof with another person?
no subject
[ She holds out her hand a little, fingers spread, to look at the Command Seals on the back. They're still there, but utterly useless, and that makes her feel something, in some indescribable way. ]
I just feel like I'd rather give people who're displaced a better chance of having a roof and a bed, you know? It's not like I hate camping or anything. And even if I can't use all of the spells Da Vinci put in this thing, it still works against the cold. So I'm better equipped for it than all these people coming in.
no subject
[There was a certain tone of certainty in his voice. Like he believed in her abilities beyond simply magus with command seals.]
Well... I certainly won't stop you, or tell you what to do. It's still not a matter of how prepared you are, or what you're used to. There's still nothing wrong with looking after yourself, or seeking your own comfort.
[A head tilt.]
Have you told anyone?
no subject
[ She's casual enough saying it, and deliberately avoiding the comment about what she can and can't do. It's not like she thinks she's completely useless in all ways, but... well. She still needs to figure out what she even can offer here, in this strange different Camelot. ]
I was kind of hoping to just, you know... camp for a month or two, then find somewhere inside to live, and no one would notice?
no subject
[That gets a raised eyebrow, followed by a deep laugh followed by him reaching over to ruffle her hair.]
I'll tell you here and now that everyone will notice you gone for just a single day! But if you insist on camping, try more for a like a week to sort your head. And make sure you tell everyone you know... and figure out who you want to stay with. Me, another of the servants, or a friend you made here.
[There was an even larger grin.]
And if you don't do any of that, I will know. And mark me that I will tell on you.
no subject
[ Not the hair ruffling. That part, she's used to, but she does puff up a little in offense at the threat. "Threat." She's never been afraid of him, but she knows when she's being bullied! ]
Ugh, fine. Fine, I'll tell people... I'll be careful. I promise.
no subject
[Hair ruffling, ruffles ruffles. Pat pats. That puffing up just makes him want to bulli even more you know. Treat her like a certain banana-class servant.]
You'll let everyone know, and you'll be careful, AND you will find actual lodging with someone you can trust and like; either with myself or someone else.
no subject
[ She's grumbly but accepting. There's no real getting around it; it's not like she would order him to not tell, even if she were capable of it right now. The most she can do is what she is right now, complaining but acquiescing. ]
