[ Video + potential action]
For those of you that are digging for the dragon's horde and wish to keep some for yourself. That's cool and all, but remember to at least give away most of what you're able to. Things kept and horded by greed, and guarded by malice, often hold a certain weight to them. That said... I'm still not fully put together, need a bit of helping digging through the rubble. For those able and willing to, the help will be appreciated.
[And true to his word, anyone taking a trip to the ruins of what was once the dragon's lair will find a worn Beowulf, attempting to move rubble and collect what he could from what was left from the horde. Whether the treasure was damaged or not. It could all help in some way, he figured.]
[Video sometime later // Locked to
fujimaru]
[He adjusts the large back on his shoulders, the sound of jingling resonated from it. A chosen assortment of goods he had picked out of the rubble. Not quite as valuable as the ones he'd been planning on giving away, but still quite precious. He didn't think it would be much, but with any luck it'd make her life a bit easier. Not like he was going to keep any of it, it was better to see that his master was better propped up in any case.]
Oi, master. Where can I meet you?
[He tried making it sound less like a demand as much as he could. Though the gruff and to the point tone in his voice most likely made it difficult to distinguish.]
[Video sometime later // Locked to
peninhand]
[Right, one last gift. It might be a bit late, he realized. And perhaps not the best time. But he figured she might still enjoy the bit of attention or acknowledgement for her day of birth. Besides, he felt bad for having taken off and not shown as he had.]
Monika, you able to meet up?
[Probably a sudden call, but he was never one to beat around the bush.]
[ooc: just a real quick log post to try and help wrap things up with him event-wise.]

Still, seeing what had happened to Celliwig... She couldn't help but wonder if maybe her presence would have made a difference. She'd been in her room pondering on this when she received Beowulf's call. ]
Oh, um. Yes, where do you want to meet?
[ A legendary hero who had slain dragons... He'd probably been there. And if they'd failed even with his assistance... Safe to say nothing she could have done would have changed a thing. So she wanted to think, at any rate. ]

[Wherever she was feeling most comfortable. She still seemed out of sorts, even now. Out of all the times for things to happen, this was perhaps one of the worst for her. He gives her a grin, voice having its usual, gruff edge to it.
First things first, keep up the sight of the strong hero she seems to see him as. But not necessarily overbearing.]
Got something for your birthday.

[ Considering she lives there, she's there pretty quickly. The place is a lot busier than usual, too. Discussions and such to give the vacant rooms to refugees. That shouldn't even be a question in her mind, there are vacant rooms, better put them to good use.
Regardless, she waited till she would spot him. ]
Hi there!

Things were certainly more crowded around here though, weren't they? And they were just going to keep getting more and more crowded as the weeks rolled on, and more people poured in. He still pushed and pressed through the streets though and would arrive in no time.]
Afternoon little miss.
[He gives her his trademark grin. There was a small box, lightly wrapped clutched in one large hand.]
So you're nineteen now, huh?
no subject
[ Magic, dragons, multiverse? Sure, she could get used to all of those things. The hero of the very first English poem talking to her? That was never going to stop being fantastical. She spotted the wrapped box, but first— ]
I'm glad you're alright. I heard of what happened...
[ Obviously. She looked away sheepishly. She still felt guilty, even though for all intent and purpose her presence wouldn't have changed a thing. Regardless of heartaches or trauma, next time she'd have to be there. ]

Some days are too important to forget. Hey, you should remember to look up in the sky and say thanks.
[All the excitement from earlier certainly didn't seem to bug him. Even the dragon escaping, or stone giant doing what it wanted to, fazed him all that much. Or neither of them seemed to.]
What happened happened. Best to look to the future and the now. Rather than dwelling on it.
[He didn't her to worry or feel guilt over something that most likely would have happened sooner or later.]
no subject
But the mere thought of giving up on love was too painful. ]
You're right. Learn from our mistakes and do better next time!
[ She really ought to apply that philosophy to herself more often. Still, she beams at him. ]
Thanks, Beowulf.
no subject
[A shrug, what was done was done. The most important thing in his mind was to prepare the future.
At her thanks though he holds the small box out for her.]
Don't say thanks to me till you got your present.
no subject
I bet it's a first edition of your poem, ahaha~
[ She winked as she said that, obviously joking. That didn't fit the shape of the box at all, nor would it make sense for him to have that. Regardless, she delicately opened it to see what was inside! ]
no subject
If I knew what happened to it. The one you know of has only a fraction of the whole story.
[And was heavily christianized later. Though he doesn't mention that.
When she rattles the box, it sounds kind of small, like a chain rattling around.]
Careful, was pretty banged up when I found it.
[And the moment she opened it she'd find herself face to face with a very beautiful pendant. With a cord of pure silver. A brilliant sapphire hung at the end of it.]
no subject
You totally should come as a guest on my show. [She laughed.] I'm sure people would love to hear the rest of your story. I know I would!
[ Beowulf, Edgar Allan Poe... She's slowly getting quite the lineup of legendary figures in Literature History on her social media channel. Besides it's also an opportunity to have a good time with
dada friend.Regardless, her eyes widened when she saw the gift. That... That looked like a real Sapphire? ]
Oh my gosh... [How much had it cost? No, it was probably coming from his fight with the dragon... But even so.] I, um... Thank you so much, ahaha! I'm not used to getting gifts, let alone ones so pretty.
no subject
Maybe I will sometime later.
[That's right, she has her little show over the network that she does. Well if it helps her out then he probably would pop in if asked.]
Wasn't certain if you'd like it, or if it was your style.
[Indicating that he had more on hand than just that. The necklace was pure silver, and a real, flawless sapphire that gleamed in the light of the sun. Given that it came from the dragon's den it was probably very old, and very, very priceless.] Sorry that it's a bit late, but I'm glad you like it.
no subject
I love it!
[ It wasn't exactly her style, but that would fit in beautifully with her "magical girl" costume she was working on. Besides, the value of it being a gift to her was far more important than whatever monetary value she had. She was making decent money from her social media work, and she wasn't particularly after money besides to get cute things every now and then ]
Thank you so much Beowulf. [She beamed.] It's the first time someone has gifted me jewelry. I'll treasure it.
no subject
Glad you like it.
[Now excuse him as a bandaged hand ruffles her hair a little.]
And happy birthday, again. You feeling like coffee? [Some caffeine sounds wonderful right now.]
no subject
Yeah, sure! I love coffee, ahaha!
[ She was a coffee-holic. ]
I know a place that got the best coffees you'll ever taste here.
no subject
Lead the way then.
[Well hey, at least she seemed to have perked up! That was always a plus, and more than enough and worth digging through everything for that necklace.]
no subject
Alright, it should be ready in a couple minutes. [She turned back to Beowulf.] I often come here when writing the script for my videos so they're used to me.
no subject
Ah, so this is where you settle down for when you want to write something. [He takes a look around, along with a deep breath to take in the smells and sights. The picture of someone taking the moment to appreciate a new place.] Must be really good if you keep coming back.
no subject
Mhm! The people are nice and they've got the best coffee ever. [She laughed.] They even agreed to bring me coffee to my room when I didn't get out those past two weeks.
[ For a fee, of course. But that was really nice of them all the same. She looked away as she mentioned the past two weeks. The memory of Lestari and Kipposhi were still strong. ]
Um... You didn't have coffee back home, did you? Gosh, so many things here got to be new for you, ahaha!
no subject
[He grinned, despite everything she seemed to be at least trying to do her best to be comfortable. That was always something, and always a potentially good sign of things to come.]
Hm? I had coffee when I got summoned, never needed it really. But I liked it all the same. [Then he thought for a bit more.] But yeah, when I was alive coffee wasn't much of a thing at the time.
no subject
[ It was true she was still trying to live decently, to an extent. Her issues manifested very different from Sayori's or Yuri's. Everyone reacted to pain differently, heh. She raised an eyebrow though upon hearing his answer. ]
Summoned...? [She tilted her head to the side.] You were summoned back to life after your death?
no subject
[Her question though got a pause and a thoughtful look to cross his face. Right, he hadn't told her. It wasn't really something he'd been concerned over or cared about. Even less so when there was a number of people who had already been introduced to the concept of servants.]
Mm, think of me like... a spirit.
no subject
[ A lot more than she'd like. Regardless, he seemed very... Solid, for a ghost. ]
You were aware of the significance of the poem describing your deeds— But it wouldn't make much sense for you to know this seeing how the poem became famous a long time after your death. [She looked down awkwardly.] I'm sorry. I know no one likes to speak of their own end.
no subject
It's something that happens to all of us, no need to worry for it, or linger on it. Besides, I still won many riches for my people and did the best I could to prepare them for the future. Best to focus more on life, than on death or the past.
no subject
[ More so since she, too, was dead. ]
A fount a wisdom, as expected from the legendary hero ahaha!
