Well I'm an Arch Priest, so I had the power to purify the undead! But now I can't do that, or at least it would take way longer.

I don't know but, it's still a useful skill to have.

A lot of us had powers that are just... gone now. I could be more benefit to this world with mine, but... we're all just along for the ride.

What sort of powers did you have before arriving here?

I had energy that I could apply to people and weapons. Energy that could heal, destroy, numb, reinforce, and propagate. I built an entire weapon system around it. I had shields and a storm leopard.

Though... he's just a normal leopard now. He used to be an extension of my spirit...

So, I get it.

It really sucks, to say the least.

Ah, that is true my debt is reset to nothing here! But I still need to find some quests or whatever they call it here to make money for nicer things~

Many requests show up through these devices on an 'application' called QuestBoard. There are some that pay very well, and more mundane requests if you cannot go out and kill a giant insect or some other monsters.

I am sure you will be fine if you take care of your tableware.

Monster killing is a normal quest where I'm from, as long as it's not toads I should be fine.

[ Giant toads that eat people on sight, not fun. ]

I cannot say I have seen monster toads around...

[That doesn't mean there aren't monster toads around, though.]

That may change as more specific quests come up, though. I have already heard of giant bees and squid. Why not giant toads?

Really? You sound like you might have elemental and healing. I have that combination as well. Only that wind seems to be the strongest element for me.

Do only priests have magic where you're from?

Anyone can have magic if you put the skill points into it, though your stats sort of put you into different classes.

I'm...not sure I understand but that must be how magic is allocated in your world. It sounds very literal. Your world must be fascinating.

Yeah...I mean, as long as you're staying at the inn. The rooms they provide there are free. And breakfast is also provided at the inn until a certain time.

They even give you breakfast? Why would anyone want to move out of the inn?

Well, some people might feel the rooms are a bit small. And they don't provide lunch and dinner, so you'd have to get that on your own, but there isn't a lot of space for cooking anything elaborate if that's your thing.

Back home I'd normally just get my lunch and dinner at the guild, so going out to get food is normal for me.

Ah perfect! So you should be all set then!

You should have a bit of money to start, but you'll have to find a means to earn more. But that should be a problem either, there are plenty of opportunities here.

Take a long, deep breath, lady. You got new powers, and there are jobs everywhere. You can just train and even sleep at the inn for free. It's not that hard.

I'm starting to think that the new powers aren't really that new, I was able to heal people before and could use water magic no problem.

They won't work exactly as they did in your world. With the water, you probably got elemental. If you got that spell line-up, then--

[She holds up her hand, flames engulfing it. Yet the fire would soon fade, electricity suddenly the next to crackle. It would continue like this for another few seconds, shifting to Homura's hand surrounded by water, then ice, and finally by rocks. Such a thing was easy to do thanks to months of nonstop training.]

An explosion of fire, sure. Lots of things are possible so long as you train.

I don't know if I'll bother training hard, but I know how powerful explosion magic is thanks to one of my party members back home. It would be kinda nice to learn some if it doesn't use skill points.
