I have a question for everyone here. That is, multiple questions relating to the same topic, if you'd indulge me.
On Tierra, the world I come from, humans were granted form and souls by the creator long ago. What they didn't know at that time was that the creator had also placed souls in other things. Souls that could not be seen or felt but were present nonetheless.
Over time, the humans realised the presence of these souls and discovered how to summon them into physical form. They did this because of an enemy that they couldn't fight on their own - they needed beings with more power, that would not be so easily killed. They found the weapons that they needed in their new creations, which would eventually come to be called 'Food Souls'. They could hold incredible magical ability and strength, and the humans still didn't fully understand where they came from.
Food Souls could be summoned and bound to the summoner, tied to their will, following their orders, and wishing to please them even through mistreatment. After the death of their master, the Food Soul would be left in the world without them.
My question then, is this. Should such beings exist in your world, how do you think they would be treated? How do you think that you would treat such a being? Would they be treated well, or discarded when they had outlived their usefulness?
I'm already aware through previous travels that my world is not entirely unique in this regard. I'm curious, too, how other summoned individuals would describe their experiences.
((any format is fine for reply - he'll answer like for like. text was just easier, given the amount of information he was putting across.))

Often a Food Soul will be devoted to the person who summoned them even if that person does not treat them well.
It's how we're made. Exactly as they wished us to be.

and insidious in its way
in my world that sort of power is limited to the gods
the power to twist peoples emotions that way and force their loyalty
the thought sickens me
its bad enough when a god can twist peoples hearts
[That aggression hadn't gone anywhere- but it wasn't directed at him anymore.]

But not all of us are so lucky. My companion here, though his story isn't mine to tell, is one such unlucky one.

my original master was a worthless fool but
the man i ended up working with was
someone i grew to care for deeply
i know at least a few servants who also had the fate of being summoned by an awful master
i dont think any of them are here though
[The first ones to come to mind were Rider, maybe Lancer (?) or- well, she never made much attempt to treat her own Servant, Assassin well.]
im sure your companion deserved better
ok if we wrap this up?
As did many of my kind who have been subjected to such things.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
