So I had a look at the quest board doohickey. [And she's still not sure she's cut out to actually tackle any of them, and is not going anywhere near the second one.]

And are we sure the rampaging movie buff isn't... well, I guess here it'd be cursed and not Artifact-whammied, but still. That does. Not so much sound like the course of action taken by someone in their right mind.

Ok, I understand 'cursed' but what is 'Artifact-whammied'?

Not too dissimilar from 'cursed,' just there's a specific object behind the problem and not necessarily someone being an ass.

What kind of objects have caused problems? And what kind of problems?

Well, it's home stuff, not here stuff, so I dunno if anything here would work on similar rules. [Possible, because 'don't pick up the cursed object' is very much a fairy tales kind of thing, but she doesn't know how likely.]

But... it varies, and it varies. Depends on who gave it power. At the mostly-harmless end of the spectrum, you have 'ring that turns your arm into a flashlight.' At the... other end of the spectrum, you have Sylvia Plath's soul-sucking typewriter.

Even if it is, someone still needs to stop them before it gets stronger or they really hurt someone. If it's just a cursed item or something then they can be released when it's broken.

Well, yeah, obviously. Definitely not saying 'ignore the bloodshed.'

You think we might be able to identify them when they're not in costume or something by it?

Maybe. There any way for people to sniff out magical trails or anything?

There's probably someone that can. If we knew what to look for.

Which I sure don't. But I guess a good starting question is whether they're using magic to do this, and if not, whether people leave magical trails when they're not actively using it.

Getting a good consistent description of the person would be helpful as well. Something as simple as height, build, or anything would help narrow it down a little. But at least we can eliminate people we know it's not.

Yeah, the bothering to dress the part aspect is... sure a thing.

Never underestimate how much of an impact the right outfit can have on how other's perceive you. It can change the everything.

But I don't think I've even heard a consistent height for the person.

Oh, I don't. Tend to leave the dressing up to other people, but I don't.

Maybe their costumes are throwing things off. The other possibility is there's more than one person doing this crap, which... I sure hope not.

I enjoy wearing what feels right for the time. Though I don't really have as many options here.

If it's a group that would explain how often it happens, but still not who they are or why.

But if it's possible to take him down without killing him, that's probably better either way. It just kinda goes double if this wasn't actually his idea.

I'm sure not. I'd hope nobody is. [But people are also ridiculous sometimes, and this dude is gravely injuring people.]

Not that I've heard, anyway. Hopefully people will continue not doing so.

That is a very good question.

I think we might be a little underqualified here.

Yeah, definitely in my case. But now the idea's out there and it's something people can at least keep an eye out for.
