Does this place celebrate holidays? Like Christmas and stuff?
What kind of gifts do you give usually?
['Have you seen Sato Ma-'
delete, delete.]
Did you arrive here alone or with someone you know?

I was blessed to arrive with two others I know. I was lucky in that regard.

I was lucky too. My bandmates arrived with me so I think we can manage. It's good that people are not arriving here all by their lonesome.

Where are you working?
Very good indeed. But bandmates! Oh, that sounds lovely. What kind of music do you play?

I think you'll have a better chance of getting information from people at the Inn, to be fair. Or from that Merlin guy that people talk about.
I work at a music shop- they sell all kinds of instruments here. A bit outdated like lutes and triangles and flutes, but there are nice violins too.
We play some sort of rock music. We all have different styles but we mesh together well. I personally like UK rock so that's what I aim for when I play my guitar.
no subject
Oh, really? Do you happen to know anything by a fellow called Brian May?
no subject
What? Of course I do! He's "Queen's" songwriter and lead guitarist! Anyone who says they play rock but don't know of him is a fraud.
[.........he gets passionate about music.]

Perhaps when I have sufficient funds, I'll have to employ your band for an evening. My beau is--or at least his car was--a fan of Queen.

[He was about to get all embarrassed on the topic of 'boyfriends' but-]
His... car? Is fan of "Queen"?
It doesn't depend on just me, I'd have to see with the rest of the guys.

What is music if not an arrangement of noise? I admit I don't always agree with what is considered GOOD music at any given time, and may have argued against the right for some things to call themselves music, but if you promise not to tell Crowley, I'll admit that I may have been wrong. In THAT instance.
I assume it's a fan. His car always plays Queen, in any case. I mean, it will play other things, obviously, for a time--not all of the compact discs start out as Queen--but eventually everything becomes Queen whether we like it or not. It's rather disappointing. Can't listen to a good opera without it turning into "will you do the fandango?"
I used to assume this just happened in all cars, but I've since learned that's not the case.
/everything becomes Queen/ idk why this makes me laugh so much xD
[They are not popular with him. But! Good on Az for lecturing him on it- he's not sure what he's reading though, his brain and thoughts are going haywire.]
well I guess it is if you pull it apart like that. From a philosophical standpoint. But some of that 'noise' actually has some melody to it, compared to others. Like cymbals. You can't play ONLY cymbals and have a song; the only thing you'll get is a headache. You usually need another instrument to mellow it down.
So the car constantly plays 'Bohemian Rhapsody'? I mean, it's a REALLY good song, but I can get how it can be annoying if it played all the time. Is... the car magical? Because yes, this doesn't happen in cars, you usually can change songs.
it's canon~
Sitting in the dark of a music hall as the grand swell of an orchestral performance reaches its finale? What is not to love. Besides, I don't think I've ever seen literal cannons listed in the instruments used in any Rock or Pop piece. Have you?
I'd think varying the size of the cymbal would change the tone, wouldn't it? If people can make music on tin trash cans, I think an enterprising percussionist could get creative with various sized sheets of metal. Not unlike playing bells, I'd imagine.
Oh, Heavens. Not JUST Bohemian Rhapsody. It will play that velocipede song, and the one about the Old Fashioned Lover, and the Best Friend one.
It has variety, it's just limited.
it really is xD
I never met a person that's passionate about playing cymbals. But I guess to each their own? tins- that reminds of that glass thing they can do. Make the songs with running fingers on the edges of the glass? I don't know how they do that.
So car only plays Queen music? Through magic? I don't know how magic works so I don't know if I can help
maybe cast a spell that will change music?
[he's trying to help...?]

I've met a great many people in my time and while I can't say I've met anyone passionate about cymbals either, I am certain they exist. I am certain there is someone passionate about every thing one could imagine. The glass thing is called a Glass Harp, if I recall correctly. Something about the water levels? It's terribly clever, whatever the trick.
The car is quite entitled to play what it likes, as much as I might want some variety, so long as it gets Crowley wherever he wants to go safely.
I'm not going to force it to change. If it has somehow manifested Free Will and is using this free will to play a rotation of Queen songs, I suppose it could have done worse.

There are orchestral shows still; the digital orchestra is mostly used for movies and TV shows.
Glas Harp, I knew it was something like that. It really is, I'm not sure how they do it either. It's not what we call conventional music so it's very rare to come across someone actually doing it. I've never seen anyone perform it live, is what I wanna say.
So the car is sentient in a way? That's kind of cool and scary at the same time.

Have you never heard the 1812 Overture? Americans seem to like it for the Fourth of July, if nothing else. -- You mean the programmes on the BBC don't have actual studio orchestras anymore?
Oh, you should find someone who does! It's a delight when done well. When done poorly, please bring earplugs.
...I'll have to ask Crowley if the Bentley is sentient.
