Symptoms looked like shit that's usually drawn into cartoons marketed toward teenage girls. 'Animal parts' was one option, but mostly it was ears and tails, sometimes wings.
Not the magic, just the ears and shit. And that was just a sign somebody had it. The actual stuff the virus did was like
You know how manga uses flowers and giant question marks and shit to show people's moods? Like that. [He wasn't kidding when he said it was straight out of a shoujo anime. Ouran Host Club was definitely an OOC inspiration for that particular jaunt.]
You really want me to answer that question? Some jaunts got pretty fucked up. Or started that way and we unfucked it.
Always thought those were sweatdrops. And it wasn't Liminal Space doing it, it was the shoujo virus. [That Shinji thankfully never had.]
Worst place I saw was definitely a toss-up between 'we're three apocalypses in and there are psychic kaiju' and 'surprise, the primitive society was put together as a reality TV show.' No, those were not the same place.
Worst overall, from what other people said, was either 'assholes on the level of Nyx keep prodding people but no one has Personas to push back' or the time-loop death match thing that was also on reality TV. Nobody really remembers that one. I'd block that shit out too.
I can't tell if I should be scared or laugh at it. But I sure hope everyone has at least some kind of sparkly eyes to make it better.
[Just saying!]
But it sure sounds a lot like the Liminal Space was implying that TV is bad for you. Which I kind of agree with as long as it's harmless. Although, it sure reminds me a lot of how I went through back home.
Everyone had to fight to the death for better and for worse.
Not TV so much as assholes trying to profit off suffering. [Which he'd be against in general terms even without those specific setups.
The Travelers, as a whole, did not take kindly to people abusing their authority. Honestly, it's a wonder they didn't kill Emperor Emperor by accident, too.]
The thing with the traumatised robot, or something else?
[This is definitely a matter of perspective. Shinji didn't pick up much from jaunt worlds as it was, and the main thing he did leave with, he super didn't want.]
Well, yeah. At least for me, it was pretty low key and easy to deal with. I didn't mind the S. Tech I wound up with, and since I was friends with two Mi'qote, it was kind of fun to learn a new language, even if they did tease me for it. I miss a different gift more, but then, I don't think it would work the same way here.
That was not something I wanted or needed. [Not the surprise immortality and not the fucking ambrosia grapes, either. He's glad neither of them seem to have followed him here.]
Don't go pretending that inability to get drunk was a cake walk or anything.

at this point i dont particularly care which it is
im inclined to think magical given that whatever is doing this seems to have a particularly poor sense of humour
no subject
Magical's definitely more likely, since this place runs on 'magic bullshit.'
But medical'd have a different solution.
no subject
and yes depending on the cause it would
at the very least i can try to determine whether or not it is a curse
how badly have you been affected?
no subject
But if someone's pissy enough to want people dead over this...
no subject
it is concerning
people i care for have been targeted as well
i dont want the person responsible killed though
i simply want to find them and everyone who is targeting my allies unfairly
and curse them
repeatedly

Sooner we reverse the problem the better. Fuck if I know how, but.
no subject
but nothing is sticking so far

im surprised how widespread this problem seems to be though

[But also, that was a virus, and that's literally how viruses work.]

[Or the doppelgangering. Or the sex swap. Or the 'surprise, that grown-ass adult is suddenly a teenager again.']
no subject
That doesn't make any sense. I suppose that's just how it goes and no one questions it?

Makes me wonder what other things you have seen if animal magic is suppose to medical. Right now, all I want is to not have it.

[Although, he had to admit, it would be pretty funny image to see Shinjiro do that!]
And yes, I do. I've heard worse.

no subject
[Because there would always be jerks who wanted to bring suffering to people no matter how much he tried to fight them off.]
You meant Labrys-san? I'm surprised, I'm assuming that you meant people who knew what the Grand Prix was?
no subject
Let's just say the Kirijo Group making a traumatised robot and not noticing what they did isn't a surprise, after everything else.
[It didn't take much to figure out where Strega got those damn suppressants from, after all.]
no subject
But it really shouldn't be. Given that what they've been up to, I wouldn't be surprised if there were other secrets Mitsuru-san wasn't aware of.

no subject
Although, I probably shouldn't be worried all that much about it should I?
no subject
You should try not to, anyway. Don't think any of us are actually any good at not worrying about that shit.
[see: THE PHANTOM THIEVES ARE KEN'S AGE when there's not timeline fuckery going on. Shinji still has Concerns about that.]

I'm probably biased against the jaunt shit because of fucking Greece, so.

And I picked up rudimentary blacksmithing, classic cocktail mixing, and an inability to get drunk. I'm sorry you had such a rough time.

Don't go pretending that inability to get drunk was a cake walk or anything.

But I'm really glad you don't have that hanging over you anymore. Though... How could you tell?
