[The video will show Kyo at the training area working on figuring his abilities, his newfound magic here. He's by now just figured he has animal magic recently but that is not that surprising. What is? That he has blood magic. Kyo stares wide-eyed and pale at the sight of his arm with blood protruding in the shape of some sort of blade from his elbow.]

What.....what is this?

[Because look. His beads have some History to them but that does not mean he expected this? Kyo isn't sure what to make of this but he does not seem to like it. At all. The way he pales, the way his chest heaves. The way his instinct is to just flee up somewhere high, alone. To try run from it and ignore it. But he can't. Short of not using the magic and he has no clue if that might have consequences as well somehow. Given how new he is to this.]

I knew about the animal one, because of course I have that here, but this?

[This he is less sure on. Less familiar with and more creeped out by. The implications of it and weirdness of it. In using his blood like this. He might have threatened if anyone got it in their head to go after Tohru with her animal magic but he is understandably distracted right now.]

[Oh hey, that's a blood blade--oh. Oh crap this guy is panicked.]

Hey.... hey hey hey take a few deep breaths. You're fine, okay? You're fine... It looks like you've got blood magic. I know a few people who have it, including my boyfriend.

Blood magic?

[Cue him glancing to the wrist with his beads. Of course. Of course he would. Blood magic. A further reminder on his role as the Cat. What the beads were made from and all, as the thing that stops him from transforming into his True Form. At least back home.

He laughs brokenly, a hand raising to his face then.]

Course I would have that.....

[Oof... that... that's not a good laugh.]

Like I said, you're not the only one with that kind of magic. You're not alone... What do you need right now?

[There's no pity in her eyes and voice, just... reaching out.]

What do I need? Hell if I know. I mean, I guess I'm going to have to figure learning this at the least to be able to control it.

[So he doesn't accidentally use too much blood or something. Kyo is still new so it isn't like he is all that familiar with all of this. How it works, what to expect with this particular magic. Even if he has some idea on the basics with the animal transformation and communication with his other magic coming easier to him in comparison.]

[She gives him a nod, focusing on staying calm.]

Yeah, that's a good place to start. Let's see... Jade, Darin Altway, or my boyfriend Kurogane Naoto might be able to help. It's a newer type of magic- long story- but they've had it as long as it's been available, about four and a half months now, and Naoto-kun has even more experience with it from back home.

He had experience with this back home? What do you mean this is a newer magic? People only figured this one more recently compared to some of the other sorts or something?

[There had to be some sort of explanation. Not that Kyo is sure he would get it because like he's said, magic is not a thing back home and all that he has dealt with, besides the obvious of the Sohma zodiac curse.]

Okay okay, slow down. So Naoto-kun's stuff, it might be better to have him explain, but for everything else....

So when I got here, everyone could only use one type of magic. But then a few weeks after I arrived, there was a ball celebrating the spring equinox, and we were invited to sleep in these... flower spa pod things? It's complicated, but the important thing is when we woke up, we could all use a second kind of magic, and more magic types were available. Like with me, I only had Elemental magic, but now I have Elemental and Green. Newcomers since April have had two magic types too.

Flower spa pods? And those somehow gave everyone more magic. Because clearly dealing with learning one sort isn't enough. What's green magic do then, is that like helping plants or something?

[It's what first comes to mind. But he could be wrong about that. Elemental seems straightforward if it is as he assumes to be she has control over the elements - water and fire and such.]

Yup! Making plants grow in a spot, helping plants that are already there, playing with different properties they have like flavor compounds or alcohol content. It's pretty versatile~

[And fitting, for the senshi of the Wood Planet.]

Flavor compounds? Ah, I guess. If you can help grow crops. Fruits and vegetables with that sort of thing.

[Tohru with her enjoying cooking would probably love something like that. But, well. Healing suited her too. Healing was more her. In the way Tohru just helped everyone. Kyo gives a nod to the other saying it was versatile.]

Yup! Spiciness of herbs too; pretty much any plant-based part of a dish, even while cooking.

What's your other magic?

I guess depending on the spices you use. I've just only ever figured some basic simple dishes. Had to at least manage something edible because Shishou is a hazard in the kitchen.

....Animal.

[Because. Of course it is. Kyo and the Cat.]

Oh nice! [At least she's being sincere?] I've got a few other friends who are animal mages too. I'm happy with my magic, but I've always thought that one was really cool too.

It's not all that amazing.

[Then again. Kyo is more used to it than most everyone else. Considering the zodiac curse back home. He's kind of an outlier in that regard.]

Mm? How come? Just getting used to it or...?

[Look, she also has unique talking cats in her world, but uh... they're also aliens. With a thousand times less emotional abuse in their backstories.]

I mean. You know. There's. Stories. Even with my Familiar. A Bakeneko.

[Not a lie but not the entire truth either in him being well used to it because he transformed into a cat back home as well.]

Yeah? Hm... well, you're not alone there. My friend Minako just got here and she has a bakeneko for her familiar too. I've got a bear raijū. And well... [A mysterious grin.] It's not a first dealing with mysterious cats, for either of us. Good ones, though.

So you had mysterious cats back home?

[Look if he tries to keep this on her, he doesn't have to talk about his own experience back home at least.]

[Good call, otherwise Makoto might need to punch through the fourth wall and lay the smackdown on a good portion of the Sohma clan.]

Yup! Luna and Artemis, and they have a kitten named Diana.

[How versed is Kyo-kun in Greco-Roman mythology?]

So they're named for the goddesses?

[Or something? Wasn't it? Kyo did some study with school but whether he is remembering the names right or not. He might be remembering wrongly or have gotten mixed up somehow but the names did seem familiar somehow at least.]

Are the cats here too or?

[If so Kyo was likely to meet them eventually. Given his whole thing with cats. Attracting them and all, at least back home.]

Yeah, you've got it! [But her smile grows a touch more wistful.] And... not yet, but kind of hoping they might. Who knows with this place.

[Not only does she miss them and a lot of her missing sisters, it's a bit worrisome, thinking of them frozen in time. At least the spell keeps them safe, but...]

I've never had a pet. But I can imagine you'd miss them.

[Having someone, or a pet, around all the time and then not having that. It would take some adjusting to. Even knowing they were back home didn't mean you wouldn't miss them.]

Not sure if I'm aware of people's pets showing up but I could be wrong on that.

I think they can too, but there are rules for that. And they're not really pets, let alone mine. More like cat-shaped friends.

Rules? I guess I didn't realize. It isn't like I have a pet back home to consider checking that sort of thing.

[She says that and now Kyo wonders if these cats were strays? Or if she or her friends don't like calling the cats pets. Even if that is what he is assuming is the case, really.]

Kyo -- Kyo, are you alright?

( She wishes she was there right now. He seems so panicked right now. How could she not want to instantly run to his side? Maybe this was a magic that neither of them has seen, or perhaps something else.

She just wants to be there for him. )

[.....well. He probably should have anticipated she would notice this. And now of course she's all worried. Great. The last thing Kyo wants is to make her all upset or anything. He tries focusing on his breathing in calming down. Tohru of all people would be aware on why this particular magic might be freaking him out, given she is aware of the story behind his beads, even if nobody else here is. He can't exactly hide it from her now.]

I -- I'm just at the training area. Where people can practice their magic.

( If he voiced such concerns out loud, Tohru would argue that she was worried because she cared so much about him -- that she worried because she wanted to be there for Kyo. )

O-Okay -- I'll be there soon, Kyo.

( She doesn't cut off the feed-- not yet. Not until she reaches Kyo. She wants him to know that she's still here. )

[He gives a nod, trying to figure how to control this. To recede the blood back or something. Kyo isn't sure if he wants her to see this. But then. She did accept him as his True Form. This wasn't nearly as bad? Kyo just has a bit of a history involving blood, given the deaths of others around him. Given his beads.

He assumes she was home so has some idea on how long this will take. Kyo sits himself down, hand to his wrist as he tries to figure this new ability.]

I'm okay. Don't rush and trip or something.

[Hopefully she at least closed the door on the way out.....]

( Despite his words, she does indeed hurry. Making he way to the training area, she doesn't stop until she finds Kyo. She's out of breath by the time she gets there -- her hands on her knees, but she doesn't hesitate to greet him. )

Kyo -- are you -- alright?

Tohru? You -- of course you didn't listen.

[He should have figured she'd be too worried not to rush here. At least she didn't look like she tripped and hurt herself in the process, just rushed and seems to need to catch her breath. He offers her his waterbottle if she needs, sighing and glancing to his arm still with the blood blade.]

It's....I'm trying to figure it.

( She couldn't help it. It was really like her legs moved on her own when she had seen Kyo panic on the network.

Catching her breath, she eventually straightens - standing again. )

... Was anyone able to help?

Apparently some others have this. I'm not sure it's as common as some of the others though.

[But it's. Something. He's not alone. Not like he was back home in dealing with being the Cat. His True Form and the expectation and judgement on him because of being born then. It's just going to take Kyo time to process. Time to figure learning to control, to accept this ability of his. This particular brand of magic. But he's at least trying to keep calmer now she is here. She's seen him freak out before, of course. But that doesn't mean he likes her seeing him like this.]

... I had no idea that there was magic like this here.

( She had really just seen that Kyo was panicking. It felt like her legs had moved on their own then... )

But, if there are others who have it, then... I'm glad that you aren't alone in this, too.

I gather this is a newer magic or something. Not as many have it but. Yeah.

[Not that it would matter if he was alone in having this. Given he was used to that back home. Even if there were the rest of the zodiac, they weren't the Cat. Dealing with the True Form. Dealing with the likelihood of being locked away as he was. He's still training, obviously, still figuring out his magic and all, and certainly wasn't anticipating this sort of magic. His lips purse as he tries to retract the blade of blood at his arm.]

... I'm sorry. I know that it must have been a little scary when you first found out.

( He looks tired, and... Tohru can't blame him at all. It has to be scary to be surprised with something like this... )

But... that's why I'm glad that someone else knows what's happening. Do you remember when I found out that I had my animal magic? Knowing that you were there -- it helped more than I can say.

Especially with the beads. I mean. I'm not sure if that story is true. About what they're made from or whatever, but.

[Yeah, that. Hadn't helped in being partly why Kyo freaked out. He's not sure how much he had really been able to help with Tohru earlier, barring getting her somewhere private as best he could and waiting, talking her through it.]

I dunno I was that much help, really. I was just trying not to flip out at you suddenly transforming like that.....

--Oh, you aren't?

( LOOK, TOHRU DIDN'T THINK HE WAS JUST MESSING WITH HER... She's very gullible. )

I'm so sorry, Kyo. I had no idea... But, I... would have understood if you did. What happened then was so much like the curse at home.

Just. What I was told. It isn't like I have a way to really verify. Or -- I'm not sure if I'd want to.

[Considering the story of the origins of the beads. Kyo might not be sure on confirming that. It's making him feel bad enough as it is. He shakes his head then, lowering it briefly and resting it for a moment on his arm.]

It is similar. Different enough to throw me off though.

... I... I understand. At least-- I don't think anyone can blame you.

( She can't help but offer a soft smile then, a tentatively she can't help but reach for one of his hands. )

Still, I feel like I was able to find strength to get through it like I did -- because you were there with me.

It isn't like I could really do much if anything to help with that.....

[He's felt more helpful in being able to be more proactive and support her so many other times with so many other situations. But that. That was not one of them. He just stood outside the room she was in and waited, talking to her. That was it. Anyone could have done that.]

... I understand if you felt like that, but... sometimes, to help someone -- it's a matter of being with near them.

( She says the last part softly -- with confidence. )

It can mean more than words can say.

I dunno it means that much. But-- it worked out, I guess.

[Is the main thing. Kyo is just. Not usually one to think he exactly did much when all he did was stand there talking, waiting for her. But if that helped her feel better, kept her calm, that's good.]

Which is the main thing. That you're okay.

[She's always the priority. Not that he's admitted that to her, his feelings. Yet. But still. He'd figure this new magic. It's not on her to freak out over it.]

( Tohru looks confused for a moment before she offers a warm smile. She hadn't known that Kyo had been so worried... She only hopes that she can reassure him. )

... It was surprising at first, but... in the end, it was a lot of fun, too.

Not sure how you call this fun.

[But. Well. Tohru always saw the more positive side of things. He can't really be that surprised to hear her think of it like that. Of course she would. Which is probably for the better if it meant she wasn't as freaked out with it or anything. Maybe having seen the Sohma deal with it so many times helped? He isn't sure. But still, the important thing here is she is fine. He would be too. Once he figures this out.]

... I know that it must sound especially strange to say it, but... it was a new experience. I never really thought I'd experience something like that.

( Though... the most important thing is that she feels like she can understand the Sohma family just a tiny bit better now. )

I didn't expect it either. I mean. For anyone outside of the Sohma, at least back home.

[It's weird. To figure it relates to not just him and the Sohma but others here with the animal magic here. It's still taking some adjusting to. At least, for Kyo. He's not yet revealed in being open about his curse. Or that he has the cat form here, at least to others. Others have run into him like that but he hasn't been sure on if he can talk like that, or not wanting to freak them out in them realizing he is not in fact just a normal cat.]

... Right. I have a feeling that this world will continue to be full of surprises.

( She offers a small smile then. She hadn't meant to make the conversation about her... )

How are you feeling, Kyo?

I guess we will see. Probably. But....I'll be okay. Just gotta figure learning on using this, controlling it.

[That seems important with the magic. That he can at least control it even if he has zero intention of really using the blood magic. Kyo sighs, giving a shrug and raising a hand briefly to his forehead ]

Come on. Let's get home.
