[ When the camera clicks on, it takes a second to focus, like the wielder isn’t quite used to filming, but the image becomes clear soon enough: a solid-looking door with ivy crawling up the wall on either side. On the door’s sole window, painted in simple, blocky black letters, are the words INUI CONSULTING. ]

It’s not home. [ Juzo’s voice comes from somewhere behind the camera. ] But it’ll do.

[ The camera suddenly switches perspective, landing squarely on Juzo’s barrel. As ever, he has a cigarette clamped between his teeth, smoke trailing behind him and background bobbing as he walks into the office. ]

Back home, I worked as a Resolver, which is pretty much what it sounds like: if folks had a problem, I’d solve it for them. Not for free, of course. I’m not runnin’ a charity.

[ A moment of jostling while he takes a seat at his desk. He takes the cigarette from his mouth and exhales a plume of smoke off to the side. ]

Anything from finding missing persons, to bodyguard work, to negotiating peace between rival gangs. My skills cover a wide array. So, I figured why not keep it up here? Not everything’s gonna make it onto the Questboard. And besides, wouldn’t wanna get rusty.

My doors are open. Prices are negotiable based on the job. If you’ve got questions, feel free to ask.

Fair enough. I'm certain there are plenty of other situations in which that might come in handy. You do leave quite an impression.

[Something she's sure she doesn't have to tell him, but at least she's not another person in distress about looking at a talking gun on her phone.]

That's the plan. I'm used to flying solo.

Why? Not lookin' for a job, are you?

[feisticuffs]

No, no; I already have one of those. Just curious. It's a big city, after all, with plenty happening beyond its borders. Assuming things go well, you'll be kept quite busy.

[Or rather, assuming the business itself goes well and other things don't, given the nature of it.]

It seems like a lot for one smoking gun.

[gunmettle]

You think so?

[ He chuckles, smoke drifting from his maw with the sound. ]

Guess we’ll have to see. This place is pretty squeaky-clean compared to where I came from, so I might be stuck pullin’ cats out of trees anyway.

[feisticuffs]

There are certainly worse tasks. I hope, in that case, you don't find yourself terribly bored. Perhaps we ought to hope for a moderate level of crime, then?

[Enough to keep one busy, but not so little that it's entirely dull.]

You seem the sort to enjoy his work.

[gunmettle]

I'm not that desperate for work. No need to wish misfortune on innocent people.

[ Wouldn't it be wild if there was a string of murders or something. Ha ha... ha... ]

More like I know what I'm good at.

[feisticuffs]

Not necessarily my meaning. It could be the victimless sort.

[There's an almost musical note of amusement in her voice, her smile nearly audible.]
