Hey everyone! How's the summer heat treating you?
[Her smile seems even more forced than even her usual act- like she hoped that over-saturated grin would allow her to push her way past whatever it was bothering her.]
So July kinda... okay like, majorly ran away with me, so- So I'm gonna be hosting the Summer Fashion show on the 15th August, at the beach- we'll be doing... so, like, the morning theme will be summer styles, with swimwear in the afternoon. I'll put on a BBQ too!
I hope you guys are as- as excited as I am! It's gonna be, like, a total blast.
Any volunteers who want to help out would be super duper appreciated, so just... lemme know, 'kay?
[The camera seems to be trembling. Mukuro takes a deep breath, before her expression turns more troubled.]
S-so, uh- like I don't have any issues with the Traders normally, they've always given me good stuff but- just a heads up that after the Celliwig thing they're in a bit of a- let's just say weird-ass mood?? Or- or maybe it's just me, I dunno... Anyone else have any problems with them this month?
Like, I just turned up- I mean, yeah, okay I usually go earlier in the day but I didn't think they'd close up shop too early, you know? Anyway I just turned up and was taking my time making up my mind and-
And they were totally all 'Oh hey! We brought you some stuff we thought you might like because you're, totally like, a loyal customer and all that'. Not in those words but-
[Another pause, swallowing back the anxious tears pricking up in her eyes as she tried to work out what to say.]
Okay no but seriously- seriously what the flying fuck are they on?!
[And with that, she carefully lifted up something in one, shaky hand- a spear of such a dark grey metal that it almost looked black. It tapered into a sharp point, and had small grooves near the blunt side that were almost reminiscent of ballistic markings.
Most noticeably, the tip and centre showed hints of dried blood.]
I- I dunno what they expect someone like me to do with this kinda thing- you know?
[And with that faltering, she'll fumble with her phone- attempting and failing to flick to a private setting.]
...Hey, Darin, can you like, make it into a sword or- or anything? Um- crap meant to private that part- sorry-

tw murder
[A small, shaky breath, before: ]
...Not just blood. My blood.
no subject
...That is seriously messed up.
[If people could end up here, objects could. Which did not explain why you'd give someone a spear that was used to stab them though. That's just kinda crossing a football field of lines.]
Getting given something that's just- made of bad memories for what? Why would anyone do that?
no subject
Yeah...it's seriously fucked up.
[It was validating, at least, that someone else agreed that this mess was horrible and a mess. More than once she'd questioned if she was overreacting.]
no subject
[Wow that came out bitter, Maya's not sure if she meant to sound that jaded and cynical but here she was. Showing exactly how done she is with things.]
Sorry, didn't need to bring that up on top of this crap.
no subject
...I'm literally just falling apart over some stupid spear- fuck-
no subject
There are a few things from home I would freak out over, ones way less directly used to hurt me.
no subject
[The whole thing sapped her energy, she felt dizzy and so, completely exhausted- more so than the many times she'd done night watch.]
...Don't want to throw it out.
no subject
[Maya's not exactly- emoting, as she tries to process this, but her voice gets more concerned as she goes through the two obvious questions here.]
Why are you blaming yourself for getting murdered?
And- um, why are you thinking that getting murdered isn't something that would mess you up?
no subject
Because I think I should be able to handle it better than I am.
no subject
[Everyone Maya picked was just- wrong, apparently.]
Someone messing you up isn't on you. A world that makes that the case is too fucked up to save.
[Says the girl who was messed up and fully blames herself, but that's because she got to live, while others died.]
no subject
...I guess so.
[She didn't really want to argue. She didn't have the energy.]
I mean our world already ended anyway so-
no subject
[Maya should know better, but when she gets all sure someone is hurting themselves she knows what she's like.]
Just- I can't imagine how much actually dying would fuck me up. Given how badly nearly dying-
[Maya will just stop talking and hastily abort that line of thought. Not... Say anything else. Just let the dead air speak for how she screwed up.]
no subject
[Oops. Yeah, she picked up on that even in her own sorry state.
...It'd hit her in a moment that Maya probably really didn't want to talk about that.]
no subject
[It isn't a lie, that's exactly what happened. It is just omitting the other time Maya nearly died. Which she's not really interested in discussing.]
We all get fucked up by things, and that's just- how life is.
So... coffee? Maybe shopping? Keeping in mind I'm broke and can't really buy anything.
no subject
[Mukuro was never sure what to say under these sorts of circumstances- she'd become somewhat numb to death after everything she'd been through.]
...Yeah. Coffee'd be good. Um. I don't mind paying, let me just...I should drop this off first.
no subject
I want you to understand, stuff happening to you isn't your fault. Because you can't control everything.
[Great advice Maya will never take herself.]
Send me an address to a good coffee place and I'll meet you there? After your errand, of course. That'd be weird to have at coffee.
no subject
...Yeah, I'll ping you one over.
It's still a shame the rabbit cafe's mostly moved out of town.
Network > Action.
[That's an understatement.]
***
[Maya's waiting outside, usual jeans and a tank top look, looking at her phone with her big ol' white and gold headphones on. Probably best to poke her out of her ignoring the world out ways.]
no subject
Heyyy~!
no subject
Hey. You seem better.
[Maya didn't believe that, but Maya's honestly a very accomplished liar when it comes to fake platitudes. It was how she made people think she was okay for as long as she did.]
no subject
[Truth be told, her cheerful demeanour was somewhat forced. After all, what else could she do? She wanted to push the spear as far back into her mind as she could.]
Wanna go find seats?
no subject
[Maya picks an open table, for two if neither is planning on a meal, and sits so she can see the door. Just, one of those things.]
Was your detour successful?
no subject
Yeah, I left it with Darin...we're gonna try and reforge it into something not awful.
...Seriously, I can't even with this day.
no subject
Is kind of a messed up thing, even for here. Not sure what sort of thing you could turn that into that isn't just- the same as it was, but different.
[Breaking it down, maybe, reforging it into a new weapon means it's still a thing that kills. Just not as long.]
But we're here to try to get it out of mind as well as just out of sight. Got any new fashion work you're not ready to show off?
