Sup, everyone! I won't bore you with an introduction - I'm new in town. Shit's great.

Anyways, haven't got much of a lay of the land yet, so I've decided to ask for some advice. You know, ask people who have been around the block a few times.

What do you people do for fun? Are there any especially cool bars or clubs? Theaters? Neat museums? Secret underground fight clubs we don't talk about but you'll tell me about because we're comrades now and you love and appreciate how straightforwardly I'm asking?

Or, hell, maybe there's just a really good book in the library I need to check out. Whatever! I'm not picky. I just don't want to spend all my time working and questing and training, you know?

Secret underground fight clubs... what in the world?

What kind of people need to keep fighting secret? It sounds unseemly of a warrior.

They're a secret because you don't want the police to arrest you!

Or because you don't want to invite in people who can't hold their own. I'm not really sure. I've never been in one, but I think it would be cool if I was invited.

If I hear of one I shall implore them to invite you. But if you wish to fight, you may fight me? I come from a village of warriors where fighting is what we do all the time, so, it is not done in secret. It is a matter of survival. If we had police, they might say, "good, keep training!"

I think perhaps sneaking a jar of preserved cherries or kissing someone else's intended, things like that, are what is done in secret in my village.

I’d like to fight, though. Admittedly I probably wouldn’t be a very good opponent right now b/c it’s not like I had any formal training. I’m better at shooting things from a distance than I am at throwing a punch with the proper form, but I think it’d be cool to get better with my fists.

It is a very small village. There are not many things people can keep secret. And not much real trouble to get into.

I am well trained in hand to hand, and I would not mind teaching. I am no good with the bow, but decent with projectiles and short swords.

Hand to hand is the place to start, though. I wonder if there is a group which meets to do this, here?

Exactly how small is small? Like, one thousand people? More? Less?

If you wanna teach, I'm here to learn! But yeah, you'd think there'd be someone trying to help people who aren't from worlds where they've had to wave swords around how to deal with this type of combat. What gives?

I do not mind. Maybe there are others more knowledgeable. I will ask on the nets-works. Good idea.
