[As the recording starts, there's the faint sound of movement in the background as Gundham is exploring a bit of forest.]

So, as it seems our 'hosts' - if we can truly call them that - are intent on keeping us here, it would behoove us to acquaint ourselves with the surroundings. I will say that as far as prisons go, this is not the worst. However, I do have a question. Are any that can access this familiar with the local wildlife? I've been attempting to observe but having just arrived, I'm sure my scent is unfamiliar enough to have them on edge.

However... there is wildlife here. That in itself is... unexpected.

The last time I was thrust into a situation isolated from the rest of the world, the islands lacked any life, human or otherwise.

[There's a moment as Gundham holds the device away from him as a series of bird calls can be heard as if he's attempting to make contact with them.]

[It's not a bad bird call. She's about to say it's a little rude not to just talk to them but -- well, they likely don't talk anymore than the horses did.

That's a disturbing thought she doesn't dwell on long.]

If you're worried about your scent however, you could try rolling around on the ground? Wolves used to do that to disguise their scent when hunting.

If my aim were simply to observe, I would do just that. However, I'd prefer that the wildlife become more accustomed to my scent and see me for who I am. Besides, I would prefer not to endanger the physical vessels of my Dark Devas by inviting predators too quickly. Such a conflict would only end in needless bloodshed.

How dangerous do you suppose the local wildlife can be? I haven’t gone to the woods so far, but...

(Harry isn’t sure what kind of wildlife Avalon could possibly have, but he can hear noises from where Gundham is at. He hopes that there better be no Dementors roaming around in the forest.)

If you think this is a prison, you must not have been locked up very often in the past. As far as I can tell, we can go anywhere we want to here and no one is stopping us. It might not be the most interesting place I've ever been, but it's not a prison.

And if you're worried about the wildlife, bring someone along who can talk to them when you go out.

[Gundham keeps his end to voice as its just easier to talk as he wanders than worrying about a camera.]

I've found deer tracks and signs of some pack hunters, most likely wolves, though none seem to have any interest in coming too close to town.

So just normal animals right now? That’s understandable since they are normally shy towards humans: maybe if you keep observing them and try befriending them, they will probably warm up to you in no time.

Either way, do you have plans to start a series of nature trail walks in the near future?

To call them 'just' animals is doing them a disservice. Any creature from a simple hamster to the proud lion has the potential to rise above its birth and assume the title of Demon Beast.

The animals here are definitely strange, but I know I also seem pretty strange to a lot of people here.

A lot of the flora around seems pretty normal, but there's also a lot I don't recognize. Which makes sense considering that this place has magic.

[What breed she isn't sure but she's had hamster classmates in the past. True it's odd seeing one so... well, in the buff. The horses were too so it isn't as much of a shock as it could be otherwise.]

N-Not just any hamster, he is Cham-P, one of the Four Dark Devas of Destruction. Within him lies a demon ready to unleash war and ruin upon his foes!

[That response startles Gundham probably more than finding himself in such a strange world. In all his years of grandstanding, nobody has ever immediately accepted his claims without criticism. He's not entirely sure how to respond at first.]

Hmph, the situation in my world is... complicated to put it mildly. [He trails off for a moment, only belatedly realizing he really has no idea what goes into running an actual empire...]

Regardless, my empire is one I must ever devote myself to lest it and the very fabric of reality crumble without it.

[While Gundham would've appreciated the offer, he'd actually prefer not to talk directly with animals because of his own baggage.]

Hmm... I'm still not sure how much of what was told to us I truly believe. Given my own... experience, I find myself more skeptical of such claims than I would have been even a year ago.

I smell like a human, such is the shell I currently inhabit. From the looks of things the animals of the area are not accustomed to humans and thus steer clear. A prudent decision on their part, but unfortunate all the same.
