Hi, I'm sorry to bother everyone, but I've just come across a strange message as I was on my way to school. It definitely wasn't here yesterday so it must have been done overnight.

[She camera turns to show a large image of a walled area near the footpath.]





Does anyone know what it might mean? The twin snakes part could refer to the long thick cloud cores in space, as that's what astronomers call them, but then I'm really not sure why the message is here or who it's for.

I guess it could be someone experimenting with poetry...

Given it appeared overnight, it's most certainly not natural growth. Maybe they were trying to make it harder to see? Or blend in with the environment? It is quite noticeable to anyone who walks past here frequently though...

This? Oh yeah, you can grow plants on just about any surface with enough practice. This would have to be someone skilled though; I don't think a newbie would have that fine a control, unless they made a huge spread of moss and then carved it afterwards.

[Ami is impressed. No wonder Makoto has green magic - it's right up her alley.]

Well that narrows down the possibilities for sure, at least to those who have green magic. Do you have any ideas on who might have been skilled enough to do it?

[Since Makoto had been here for much longer, Ami's sure she probably knows a fair few people.]

For this? [A few seconds to frown... and then shake of her head.] Only ones I really know with green magic are me, Mamoru-san, and Aurora.

[She actually knows a couple more, but not well enough to know their magic types, and some of them haven't been here long enough to practice. And even of the green mages she doesn't know, there aren't that many; it's actually a bit of a rare magic.]

Oh well, it was worth a shot. Do you think you could ask Aurora if she knows who might have done it? I can check with Mamoru-san.

I was wondering if you knew anything about this? I thought maybe it had been done using green magic?

[She turns the camera and shows the moss words on the wall again.]

It appeared overnight, close to the school.


[OOC: The player who actually made it has told me that it's actually been stuck on the wall, not using green magic, so feel free for Aurora to point that out to Ami if she notices!]

[Aurora brought the phone close to her face to better examine it, limited visibility though she had.]

I cannot say for sure, but I doubt that Green Magic was used to create such lettering. Green Magic does allow for us to control plant growth, even hasten it, but it ultimately still acts like a regular plant growing in that it must burst through the surface as a seed would through the soil.

Something as intricate as that?

There should be some sign of stress on the rocks themselves, cracks or chipping to indicate the rocks had the seeds burst through. Such signs do not exist in those stones.

Unless it is moss? I cannot tell from the image, moss could be possible to form on the stones.

Twin snakes play tag with the star and moon. Do they mean the sun? Maybe they mean sunrises and sunsets? They're identical and they only ever come about with the sun and moon rising and falling!

I wonder if there's anything in the city that could also represent the snakes, star and moon? I haven't really been here that long so I'm not all that familiar with the place. Is there anywhere you can think of that might fit?

I'm afraid I don't know though, unless it has to do with a family crest or flags? Or even mythical creatures?

It sounds like it could be something like a coat of arms or even jewelry.

I've run it through a decoder to see if anything came up, but nothing so far. Although it could be much more elaborate, simplistic, or literal.

If it's a hint, I'm not sure what it's alluding to. Is there anywhere in the city that might fit the clues given?

[Now he's thinking. He's ventured far enough, but... where he goes, there simply isn't much to look at, if he's noticed. He's stuck on "tag", and that "snake" bit. The moon makes sense... if nothing else. Though its star's still confusing—unless its meaning's the sunlight? An allusion seems likely. But just as true, there's chance it's literal, and he can't rule this out! Peaks with snaking paths exist, though if it's referenced some sculpture...

Ugh. Whatever the case, there'd be two of them.
