Good afternoon.

A few things:

1. I am interested in making contact with those who are currently cataloging magic incidents/findings among the community. I would like to see the fruits of your effort thus far.

2. Regarding resistances and immunities: Have those of you who have not previously possessed such things found yourself developing them to some degree? For example: a resistance or outright immunity to fire or cold damage, diseases, etc.

3. Regarding the Calamity: My office is open, and you may visit or pre-arrange an appointment to be teleported to the viewpoint at the edge of the isle. I encourage you to take advantage of this resource if you have some experience with multiplanar disasters or a proficiency in barrier magic, but I am obliged to accommodate all who ask for as long as this resource is available to us.

4. Soundproofing: I am interested in contracting labor for a few rooms. My coin is limited, but I have other resources to barter with.

I was about to ask about that third point, but now I'm curious about the fourth. Why do you need soundproofing?

You are not restricted to only one point or the other.
As for the matter of soundproofing: My hearing is very sharp, compared to what the apparent average is. I can hear the electrical buzzing of various devices day-in and day-out, and it makes it difficult to get rest.

How about I come over and curse you so you can't hear anything long enough to fall asleep? Seems like the fastest fix until you get someone to help with your rooms.

And how can I trust that you are skilled enough in your curse craft that such a thing wouldn't become permanent?

If only my magic were so powerful! It would wear off after an hour or two at most.

While I imagine the offer comes from a good place, I must refuse. Robbing myself of my own senses would not inspire any amount of relaxation, and thus would defeat the purpose.

I suppose I must confess at this point that I do not sleep the way humans do. It's more a meditative state than full unconsciousness - that sort of thing only crops up if I am truly at the pinnacle of exhaustion and my body must fully intervene. Rather unpleasant to wake from, and I'm not entirely sure how humans can stand it.
For the moment, small chimes and an assortment of incenses has been my go-to in order to try and pry my senses away from the ceaseless noise. It will do better with a dampening of that noise, hence the ask.

Perhaps you can enlighten me what, exactly, you intend to do as far as exploring goes? I'm not keen on delivering people off to their dooms, even if it is their own decision.

I'm just going to scout around and see what's out there. I know how to handle myself in a desert, and the person I'm bringing with me does too, so we'll be fine.

Who is this other person, by chance? I have to note that I've never attempted to teleport more than one person at a time, so I can't even rightly say I can do so as requested...

Unfortunately, as far as materials go, I am lacking. I don't have the know-how to know what I must procure in advance, so if you know, kindly advise me.

Hmm, ok to start some foam boards and weather stripping are the very basics for sound proofing. I can try to use alchemy to make them if you can get me some plastic and paper waste.

And if I were to approach the average vendor within the city, requesting such things would not cause confusion?
I only ask as I cannot say I am familiar with what weather stripping will look like.

In that case, why don't I go with you shopping the the needed materials. It will be easier to show you.
