Alright. I give up. I'm bored. I never thought I would hate peace and quiet this much.

Did anyone tear their clothes recently?
Does anyone need warm soup for the chills?
Maybe I can borrow a book to read?

... I'm even considering that school stuff, for real this time.

Besides, this place has like the internet how can you ever be bored? And isn't everyone supposed to be practising magic or whatever?

Normally there's a whole group of people around me who need taken care of - they get in fights and have wounds I need to bandage, or make their meals for them, or fix their clothes, or look at the map to give directions, or read a book to look for an answer to their problem.

I usually never have time for fun.

I don't know why the internet matters, or why I should bother practicing magic, if it's not going to help me get back to Yona and my friends.

Perhaps you can take up a new hobby? I am learning archery.

Hm? How's learning archery anything but combat training? A bow is a weapon.

Although I don't know what a hobby is in the first place. Is that what you call someone with a lame leg?

It is, and truly, it cannot be anything other than that, but I choose not to use it for harm. Merely something new.

And... no, that is not a hobby. [She would like to think she's not so rude towards someone like that.]

A hobby is an activity you do for your own enjoyment. Just some of the things you could do are writing creative stories, painting, gardening, cooking, singing, dancing, or sewing. Or, if you prefer, the hobby could be something more social, such as acting, or joining a sports club, and really so much more.

I have personally taken up archery among my other interests, but there are endless things you could try that you may never have thought to before.

But… I don’t do cooking and sewing for fun. You need those skills - or someone with those skills in your life.

One of my best friends is a princess who grew up around Guards who defended her. When she had to leave that behind, she took up archery to protect herself. But for you, archery is just fun...? That’s really different than where I come from.

Yes, they ARE necessary skills, but people can have fun doing such activities as well.

Well, and I suppose to protect myself as well, but I have no desire to harm anyone, truly.

This is really starting to sound like a Princess thing...

Sewing is a lot of hard work - cooking too! - to just do it for no reason at all. Why would you sew a shirt without the measurements for who will wear it? Why would you waste food cooking something that no one is planning to eat?

Oh? So then you do everything perfectly the very first time you try it? My, you are a wonder.

No of course not, only if I'm shown how to do it first. For example, I can make sandals, and that's how I earned money to eat when I was little.

A very useful skill, but you had to practice it, did you not?

If you're looking for something to do, there's always the library. I always found that you can be inspired to try something completely new through books!

A library? Is it open to everyone...? Or just certain people are allowed? The only other library I've heard of was inside a castle.

From what I know, everyone is welcome there. So, if you're looking for something new - it might be the perfect place to start.

I've never heard of such a place... Ah! Do they tax you to enter? So lords and nobles can enter anytime they want, but others pay?

Oh no -- it's free. Did they... tax others for going to a library back at your home?

No, I just never got let in before.

I didn't live anywhere rich enough to have such a collection of books, or the connections to be let into a noble's house who did have one.

[ Right up until Yona got him access to the castle's library, and Yona is gone. ]

( She really does mean that. She can't help but feel sad for him. She never realized how lucky she was in her own world to go into places like that so freely. )

I... haven't been able to yet. Enjoy things like that, I mean. I've always had to be escorted to places like that, by Yona. And... Yona isn't here anymore.

People are talking about hobbies, which I don't really get. I can cook and sew, but those aren't hobbies for me, they're just how I take care of where I'm living. And I do love books and learning, it's just always been out of reach.

[ He's a Carer without people to Care for; a House-Husband without a House or Family to fret over. ]

So... I'll try going to the school. And the library. For Yona.

... I understand. It's so important -- and special -- to care for the others around you. But... it's just as important to care for yourself, as well.

( She knows that she's been told this so many times herself. It's... advice she's still learning to take. )

Be more specific, then. What do mean by "care for yourself"?

Well... what I mean is -- to take care of yourself -- to... do things for you. To brings happiness to yourself.

So many people have told me to do that, too -- it's advice that's harder to take than you'd think.

As bad as that, huh? I was doing some homework, but I'd be happy for a break. Want to play a board game?

... I don't know what a board game is, but if it's a game, sure. You'll teach me the rules, right?

It's just what it sounds like - a game played on a board. Usually with playing pieces. I'll definitely teach you, don't worry. You'll have to teach me some of your favorite games, sometime!

Should we do one where we play together as a team, or against each other?

There's more than one style? That's complicated already... How about the one where we're a team?
