[Hey, look, it's an actual post from Mamoru and not accidental twerking feed. Even if he feels a bit sheepish after such a performance to make a post, but whatever. He can handle it.]

Hello, my name is Mamoru Chiba. I'm a medical student back home and I was hoping to use those skills to my advantage here. I am aware we have healing magic, even if I don't possess it, but I still wish to help. Healers might need to first identify the problem before they're able to use their magic, after all, which is what I could help with. Does that make sense?

[At least it made sense to him, but he wanted to make sure it actually did.]

That being said, I would be interested in working in a small clinic. I'm not sure if I would want to establish one myself, but I could definitely help with the management side as well.

[He's not a qualified doctor yet, so starting his own clinic wasn't really ideal.]

I suppose I could also provide anyone with medical herbs, considering I have green magic. It's an option, at least.

It is a pleasure Chiba-san, my name is Jakurai Jinguji, head doctor of Shinjuku Central Hospital at home.

[He's always had a soft side for medical students. So meeting one here is nearly like a breath of fresh air.]

I would be happy to work with you, myself and my girlfriend are trying to open a small clinic. Though we are working out of where we can for now.

It's a pleasure to meet you as well, Jinguji-san. I am also from the Tokyo area, even if not from near Shinjuku. That is an admirable position.

[He seems rather young too, which is even more impressive.]

I would be honored to work with you. I still have plenty to learn, but I am eager to.

[He would probably be delighted to hear that this young man thought he was still rather young. He’s in his late thirties.

Mamoru reminds him of a few medical students he’s had before, eager and willing. He laughs lightly.]

I would be honored to impart any knowledge on you that I can. What sort of medicine are you interested in?

[That's still plenty young. At least Mamoru would think so.]

Medicine that helps those with long-term illnesses, first and foremost. I want to be able to help in finding the cure for diseases that yet have one. Of course all sorts of medicine interest me, but that's my main focus.

I am not able to help with healing magic or finding a clinic, but I am skilled enough with making healing salves, teas, and ointments from natural plants if you would like to put your green magic to more use than just growing?

That would definitely be great. I have admittedly wanted to find a use for both my magics that would be beneficial.

Then it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Mamoru. My name is Aurora. Where shall we meet to begin your lessons?

It's a pleasure to meet you as well. How about the garden near the castle gates? It's a lovely place and surely gives a lot of inspiration.

That sounds like an excellent plan, when would you like to begin?

Tomorrow will be perfectly fine, I shall see you then. I shall bring something to eat should our lessons run long or are intensive.

[ This catches her attention, because not only does his name sound Hingan- which means he's likely from there or the Earth country Japan, but they might have help! Mamoru's going to get some ear wiggles in greeting! ]

Green magic, and interested in working in a clinic, and a student? That's music to my ears! You're not as fluffy as my last student, but my boyfriend's a head doctor back home in his world! I'm sure he'd be delighted to join forces!

[Oh, that ear wiggling is cute. This is pretty much Mamoru's first time meeting a cat person, if you didn't count the talking cats back home.]

That would be the one! He's absolutely lovely, so you should talk to him about working together! I'm a healer too!

[ Her ears are very animated so there's always much to see. and very telling about her emotions! ]

Are you from "Japan" as well? He'll be so happy to hear there are more people from his land, if you are!

I am definitely interested in working together. I feel like I still have plenty to learn from professionals.

Yes, I'm also from there. I also have others that are from the same place here with me, including my fiancee.

[ That last bit makes her eyes go wide. ]

You've a fiancee?! Goodness, lad, you look so young. Not that I can say anything, I've four children myself! But I've learnt it's not often people marry that young in modern times anymore!

[ She's learnt a lot! But she beams. ]

What was your focus, then?

Haha, well I am nineteen. We haven't settled a date for marriage yet and will likely wait a while anyway. [It's a long tale anyway.] Four children... I imagine all of them are as charming as you.

[It's a polite small flirt, hush.]

I studied medical humanities, with a focus on medicine. I did plan on expanding my studies to include anatomy studies.

That's around when I married too, aye. [ And she gives him a playful little ear wiggle again! ] They aren't quite as charming as you are yet, but I'm sure they'll get there, lad.

[ Friendly flirting is always welcome! It makes people feel good! But getting down to business- ]

Sounds pretty intense! From what Jakurai's told me about medicine in his time, there's so much improvement over what I know. I'm an alchemist and field medic. I use magic through conjury back home, too. Have to be in tune with plants and the human body for that!

[ She beams, though her ears droop a bit. ]

Just have green magic now. This place didn't even let me have my healing magic back. I was getting so good at it too. What about you?

[Mamoru gives a small, embarrassed laugh at the counter flirt. He's not too embarrassed. Only a little bit.]

Medical school can definitely be very intense, but it is very much worth it. It also sounds you had an important part back home.

[A field medic was important, even back in his world.]

My primary magic is light and green is my secondary. I used to have small healing abilities back home as well as powers that resemble the light magic used here.

Of course! I'm the Matriarch of mine own tribe. We're healers and huntresses!

[ And she's very proud of it! But she does smile at his words. ]

Sounds like you're pretty special, then! What is it that you do, then? You're pretty enough to be a model. I had to do some modeling too, when I was studying. Brought in enough to support me during it!

The Matriarch. That's amazing.

[Though he seems to become flustered at the modeling suggestion a little bit.]

I'm just a student back home, most of the time. Though I am also the reincarnated prince of the Earth Kingdom and the future King of Crystal Tokyo, which is why I have the powers.

[Basically student by day, a pretty royal person by night.]

Medical herbs would be great! This all sounds great, actually, surely there are still things you could do without healing magic and we don't even need magic to cure everything.

Hello! My name is Katara and I have Healing magic here but I'm also a Healer back home.

It's nice to meet you, Katara. I'm glad to hear about others who practice healing or medicine. It's a very important profession.

Yeah. It's part of my waterbending skills back home but this place replaced it with healing magic as soon as I arrived. But it sure has been very useful, while we have been traveling all around the world and getting into all kinds of -- situations. And even before I learned those skills, I used to try helping with things like that as much as I could.

Using water for healing? That is an interesting concept. I would like to hear more about that sometime, of you're willing to tell me.

That's a wonderful attitude to have.

Mmhmm, it's the catalyst for it and thank you, I may be biased but it really is an interesting and great way to heal. Of course, I would love to tell more about it now or later, whenever you have time.

Admittedly I'm more of a fighter these days but maybe one day, when I'll be too old to fight, I'll focus on healing. Or I'm just really lucky that we don't need healing to be my main focus back home now.

[Yeah she is only going to be the best Healer of her entire world, when she'll be old...]

Admittedly, I also focused quite a bit on fighting and protecting our home while also studying. Even if our lives get hectic often, I still hold onto my aspirations.

[Even if he knows he will one day become King, medical knowledge is still important.]

Okay. Well, first of all waterbending is the ability to control and manipulate water - but it's different than Elemental magic here because no one creates magical water by themselves but takes water from all around us. Even from the air and other nature once you become more advanced with it and don't have to rely on large bodies of water or snow around you. And some people are just born with it, like I'm the only waterbender from the Southern Water Tribe and there are many more in the Northern one but most people aren't benders.

Healing uses water as a catalyst to heal sick and injured people by redirecting their energy paths or chi throughout the body. I accidentally discovered my healing abilities, when I put my injured hands into water and it started glowing... It always glows during healing but most of the time I have some water between me and an injured person instead of them being in the water. And most women are only Healers where I'm from, but I had a fight against my teacher to learn both after traveling to the other side of the world for someone to teach me more about waterbending.

[Ah, good memories of yelling at him there...]

Guess there are a lot of us, who are fighting and protecting our home here. I hope you get to study more and fight less by life calming down there. We just reached the end of a really long war back home.

[Mamoru listens to her explanation with full interest. Elemental magic was similar to what the sailor senshi used back home, so hearing about water abilities different from both this world and home was fascinating.]

Can you also manipulate ice or is it just water?

[She did mention snow, but you could always just take water out of it and leave it at that.]

I'm glad you were able to convince him to teach you. But that is a really amazing way of healing. How do you feel it differs from Healing magic that's used here? Were you able to adapt to it well?

Yeah, ice is a part of it too. Anything with water in it is a part of it. And my tribe is from the South Pole of our own world map, so I had lots and lots of ice, snow and water to practice with back when I was still there without a teacher, but able to play with my bending skills even a little.

[...She almost regrets saying that considering the word anything there about it because yeah, hi bloodbending, she doesn't miss that.]

The only reason why he agreed to teach me was because he found out, that I'm related to someone special to him. But we're in great terms these days, really, so that's nice. It -- well, obviously there's no water between it even though I could try something similar these days, when I got Elemental as my secondary magic but it just wouldn't feel like the same thing. But it's not that different? Energies flowing in both, it was pretty easy to adapt to it, I guess my most common problem was remembering that I don't need water with it now. Feels like a similar, warm flow and sometimes glow and all, it's been pretty great. Or I just adapted to use it similarly to my water-based healing, maybe, since that's what I'm familiar with.

[See, now you've given her something to think about too like she will think about answers to these questions a lot and maybe give him an updated version later.]

[Mamoru's thoughts definitely go into "Human body is made 70% of water", but he doesn't say anything about it out loud. It's scary enough a thought as is. Maybe one day they can discuss that, but today is not that day.]

Having healed with water for so long, it's no wonder you tend to forget. I'm sure with time, you'll be able to adjust to it enough to make it a routine - without forgetting how you do it at home.
