« video » un: matriarch
[ The video is just a dark-haired catgirl with her face against her hand. People might recognize her as a miqo'te if they're familiar with them! She's addressing the device while a little duck and dragonet play on the desk near a pile of colorful strings by her side. Some freshly cut flowers are stacked behind them, too. ]
Had enough craziness this moon. Adventuring here doesn't really have the same spark as what we'd do back home, though... and there's been a few folk heading that way, it seems. At least I'd hope.
[ Seeing friends leave is always sad. She just hopes they're safe! ]
Name's Megumi, Matriarch of the Utakata Tribe. Got a request for you lot.
[ Her ears flick, as she continues: ]
What sorts of adventures did you lot have, anyroad? Got a few bells before I'm off duty, and I like to write about them. Tell me about them, even the most mundane. Maybe a chocobo chased you around, or you tried to eat a moogle's pom. Something or the other.
[ She holds up a pattern by the strings, a chocobo and mog pattern (smaller and cuter designs though!) before setting it down. ]
That's what those are. Anyroad, there's a charm in it for you, as thanks. Or a potion. Wasn't much of a magical person outside of my healing, but I'm missing what I used to be able to do all the same. Somehow controlling plants just feels rude at times.
[ She twirls a string bracelet on a finger, from the pile she has on her desk. ]
Tell me a story then, aye? You can say the accessories bring good luck. Made by a Radiant Matriarch and all. That would be me, by the way. Don't forget it.
[ And she winks, before she ends her side to see what she'll get! ]

Well, what kind of story do you want to hear?
no subject
Haven't heard any so far, so how about we start with something easy. Tell me about a time you didn't know what you were doing and how you went through it.
no subject
Well, there was that time with Lady Lilira... Dealing with nobility is always... interesting.
no subject
You don't know trouble with healing nobles in places out of their league unless you're a healer, but tell me about this Lady Lilira, then.
How'd you handle her?
no subject
Well, you see... [And he tells her the story of Lilira and the Sultantree.]
And you can possibly guess who Lady Lilira really was.
no subject
... interesting. So even the Sultana has to play pretend to get anywhere.
[ Somehow, it's nicer to hear about normal things than the wilder ones she often hears. ]
Can't imagine her being too disappointed with someone as handsome as you looking out for her, though. Does she do that often?
no subject
Apparently, she does.
[He half shrugs]
I'm not sure, I only ran into her like that once.
no subject
What about you, then? Ever had a situation where you had to be disguised? I can't recall most of what I learnt about you in that other place, so you'll just have to refresh my memory. Though word back home was that you were quite popular with the ladies whenever I'd visit the guild in Ul'dah.
no subject
There was that one time with the Warrior of Light. Although that wasn't as much of a disguise as just different clothes... Oh, the time I went into an imperial base. Had to dress all up for that one.
no subject
An Imperial Base? You too, then?
[ The "too" implies it's something she's done. ]
What did you go in for, then?
no subject
Intel, as normal.
Sounds like I'm not the only one, what were you trying to find?
no subject
The same. Only went badly once during an extraction, though, but my tribe's still standing. And thank Menphina for that!
[ She's not elaborating in public, for the better. ]
Looks like our work isn't too different. Part of it, anyroad. If you're any good with medicine-making, I'll have to recruit you for my tribe.
[ She winks, before adding- ]
Not that it matters here. It's like being a green adventurer all over again with some of the shite that this place puts us through. How've you been holding up, anyroad?
