[The screen is dark at first, the only thing people will hear is unique sounds before the screen clears up and shows a creature which is the source of said sounds.

It's a moment or two of the Chao, making faces, before an actual voice can be heard.]

What are you even doing?

[And onto the screen is Shadow, in all his black, red and white glory, looking mildly annoyed by his familiar's actions.]

This isn't a toy, and it's on. [He's not so dumb as to not notice that his phone is on, and recording something so... He'll address whoever it might be sending to.]

I highly doubt anyone here would know who I am but, this is Shadow the Hedgehog. If there is anyone by the name Rouge or E-123 Omega here I would like to know.

Uwaahh, it's so cute!!

[What even is that thing?! It's like a little, kind of...imp creature? Maybe?? But gosh, it's actually not scary at all and sort of adorable? And those little baby noises it made? Oh my gosh??? Ochako coos at the little thing right up until Shadow appears, but her smile still stays in place.]

Hello, Shadow-san!! [Honestly, not at all bothered by this supposed 'hedgehog' thing in the slightest - quirk genetics just sort of...condition one to find different of outlandish bodyshapes and sizes pretty common. Anthropomorphic animals are pretty much also a thing back home, too, though they're still considered humans with an animal-like mutation quirk.] I haven't heard of anyone by those names, I'm sorry...but it seems like the time where newcomers arrive, so it's very possible they might in the next few days or so.

I do patrols by the lakeside every now and again, would you like me to keep an eye out for you?

[Lots of helpful people here, it kind of makes Shadow a bit wary. Although again, this young lady doesn't seem threatening.]

It's fine, it seems I already have quite a few people looking out for them.

[Ochako certainly isn't the most threatening-looking person, it's true. She can fight, and has some strong magic, but generally doesn't use it unless it's to protect others and herself. She is the very definition of a heroine - do good for others and offer help when you can.]

Mm, I assumed if you were looking for your friends. [Because that's clearly what they are, right? Why else would he be worried about finding them?] But if you're sure, then alright. But this world is a little strange, ehehe...I'm sure by now you've found out about most things, though a lot people here are really nice. If you have any questions I can try to answer them.

Mmh, yeah...but I'm sure there are other people who've been here even longer than that. It's a little sad to think about, being away from my mama and papa so long, and...stuff. But I do have my friends, so that makes it a little easier. I really, really hope you find yours, too.

It can get pretty lonely here without that kind of familiarity, ehehe.

Mm, it does. A lot of my friends and I showed up at the same time, so it was easier to support and find one another that way...then others started to follow after we got settled in. [Shinsou, Tokoyami, and now Kaminari as well.]

But you seem really smart, so I'm sure you'll be just fine!! Plus, you have your super cute familiar to play with and keep you company, too! [Clearly, this is extremely important.]

[Which would usually be kind of frightening to some people? But considering that Ochako is friends with Kirishima, who has a low of sharp, shark-like teeth, and is one of the sweetest and most wonderful friends Ochako has, she's not bothered at all.]

Yes it is, it's called a chao.

[Honestly if anyone finds the chao scary that's on them, it's basically harmless.]

Why would I need to name it? I only have the one.

Ch...ao? Chao. Chao.

[That's a pretty hard word for her to say, the 'ch' sound isn't are prominent in her language, and Ochako has to click her tongue a few times to not default to 'sh' instead, like pronouncing the word 'shao'.]

Well, it's sort of like your companion, right? A partner!! You don't want to just call it 'thing' or 'hey, you' or something like that - it's mean! I'd hate it if someone just went around calling me 'little girl' or something. I'd probably bop someone in the nose if they did that. [AHEM.]

[Kind how Shadow has been careful with saying some of the names he's been told on this post, so he won't make any kind of fuss at Ochako's pronunciation.]

I can simply call it chao, it's not like I have a garden of them here so it doesn't really need a name.

Mmh...I guess.

[It seems so sad, though? Like calling someone "boy" or "girl" to address them. It just seems...rude? Mean?? BOTH??? Then again, names and the like hold a bit of significance in Ochako's culture, after all.

But, it's not like she can tell him what to do one way or another anyway, so might as well accept it.]

Although someone I met on the carriages did call it Chompy.

[And the Chao hears that name and manages to wriggle its way back onto the screen and it goes chomp chomp with its pointy teeth at the camera, as if showing its appreciation for that name.]

Chompy!! [She giggles really, really loud, trying to smother it behind her hand.] That's so cute! I like it a lot!! Ehehe, and I think your little chao friend likes it, too.

Hello there...are you behaving for Mr. Shadow?

[The chao simply babbles in response, about the only thing that sounds like a word that comes from it is "chao" which it repeats a few times. Seems it can't(?) talk like a person, or perhaps it refuses to.]

It's been behaving as a chao is want to.

[Oh no, it's so darling. Ochako may be alover of pink, soft, and kind of 'girly' things...but that doesn't mean she totally isn't into the aesthetic of something that's both a bit scary but in a cute way. It kind of reminds her of a few punk mascots for clothing or something.]

Ehehe, it's so cute!! It's almost like a little baby! My familiar is pretty cute, but uh...n-not like that. [Not if one counts a very large dire wolf spirit as cute. Aludra can be cute and playful when she wants to be but she also is kind of intimidating with her size.]

[The chao practically beams at being called cute, as it waves its stumpy little arms. Shadow, on the other hand, chuckles at Ochako's words.]

They are basically like babies, yes. And as long as you enjoy it what your familiar looks like shouldn't matter.

[Shadow would find the dire wolf spirit to be cool, really.]

[D'AWWW... Oh my gosh, it's definitely a little cutie. Ochako bursts into giggles all over again, waving back with a wide smile. Before pulling back and leaning into her seat thoughtfully.]

Well...of course I'm happy to have her. She's difficult sometimes, but I just think that's because she's a fae spirit. And after a little while, she's become a bit more behaved. I can even control my magic a little bit better, too. At first I couldn't use it at all, and she would barely even listen to me...so i really hope yours is more behaved than Aludra-san was!

[Shadow is making a mental note of some of what Ochako is saying, like fae spirits and such. Something for him to look into later, really.]

I see, well... It will probably help that I know how to care for a chao, so it shouldn't be too troublesome.

That definitely does help... I know a few people who actually were lucky enough to get creatures from their home worlds as familiars, so it does make it easier to manage.

But if you do every need anything at all, just give me a ring, okay? I'd be more than happy to look after Chompy-kun~! ♥
