Would Lady of the Lake be offended if I set up a tent at the shore and fished for, I dunno, days? I don't want her to curse me.

Wait, are there any fish in the lake to begin with?

Is there a chance I fish up a storm in form of some kraken? Or mermaid? I don't want to hurt mermaids.

7yeah that thing. The woman calls herself Lady of the Lake so I figured it is some sort of lake? Or maybe it was once.

I think that's just her title and it carries even if she were on dry land.

Anyways, you can fish, but there is a kraken and a megalodon among other things. I haven't seen any mermaids, and my familiar is like the monster of Loch Ness, so... we've been in that water a lot.

It's also a pretty far trip by foot. You planning on walking there?

Lariosauro. Like an odd sea monster. Horse-sized with webbed paws and a reptilian head. A carbuncle? Like a sore...? Gross.

The carriages are used to bring newcomers in. The distance is about a days trip. You can always get a totem from the traders so it's quicker.

yeah quite recently. I thought the carriages came back and forth all the time. Maybe I can find a ride with some of the traders towards bay.

Did people get injured at the lake?

They go back forth each month, but only one time. Until you can save up, I suppose finding a ride would be the best option you've got.

It's not that in my world, or any of the others I've been to before this one! A carbuncle... is VERY different depending on where you are!

People get injured all the time because of one stupid thing or another. But no, it isn't typical for them to be injured there. If you start hunting the Kraken, though, we're going to have problems.

I won't go looking for kraken, but what if Kraken comes looking for me? I don't want to be blamed you know. I just want to fish. I had my share dealing with monstrosities for a while, and I don't like to go on the offensive when I don't have my usual powers.

[ He honestly needs to sit down and think what to do about Ardyn and how to deal with him. If he can fish while doing that then all the better. ]

yeah I'd still just leave it. I like my fishing done in peace and quiet. A lot of roaring and splashing scares the fish away.

Are there any beach cabins there, for living? For buying/renting?

I know of a home a fisherman lived with his Selkie-wife. He's dead now, and the home has been abandoned. It may not be in too bad a way. You might be able to fix it up and live there, though I imagine it'll be a lot of work to do so...

I dunno. I feel bad using someone else's house. Especially since they are dead... feels like stealing.

Well I know his wife wouldn't see it that way, since to her, I think it was something of a prison. You see, he'd taken her skin and forced her to marry him. So his death freed her.

[Not that Gokudera was responsible for killing him. His familiar carries around the man's skull for him, though. All Gokudera did was protect the kraken and speak with the Selkie.]

Poor selkie. Then I'll be happy to re-purpose his house for something better. I just think it would be great to have somewhere to camp during the summer.

If you're new, it should be easy enough to freeload at the inn for a while. But yeah, fix up the home by the lake for a while, and then you can move in or have it as a summer home. Either way, as long as it is cared for, that's all that should matter.

[And if anyone wants to know who killed the Selkie's husband, Gokudera knows and will never ever tell.]

Inn is fine and all, but I do like to have a bit more... space? Also privacy, the walls are thin and they do not keep sounds at bay. Can't nap.
