[It's not often that Jade makes use of the network herself, preferring to respond to others, and she's been as preoccupied by the trials as many others have this past week. Even so, something troubling has come to her attention, and she would rather not sit and wonder and worry needlessly, if it indeed ends up being needless.]

I realize there's a great deal going on right now, and so I'll make this brief.

[Her tone is careful and refined, but there's certainly worry beneath all of that, thinly-veiled.]

Has anyone seen or heard from Dimitri recently? Even amidst the trials and current situation with Celliwig, it's unlike him to miss training or go silent.

[At least in her experience. She knows enough about his previous ghosting act to know that this doesn't feel right. If something has gone wrong, he can certainly take care of himself, but that doesn't keep concern from mounting.]

I know he has acquaintances here. If you hear anything, I would greatly appreciate if you would let me know.

The kind words are enough. I don't know that there is anything to be done.

[She can't do anything to change this, regardless of how much she might wish otherwise.]

It would have been nice, to have a chance to say goodbye.

I know... I'm really sorry.

I'll be fine.

[Though her voice remains weary, there's a note of forced cheer behind her words, faint though it may be.]

All there is to do is move forward. It's never easy to lose a friend, no matter the circumstances, but I doubt he would wish for me to mope about.

[She's quiet for a second, then a few more as she locks the feed.]

Maybe not forever, no... But if he's that good a friend [or whatever their relationship], I don't think he'd mind you being upset either, at least for a little while.

[She pauses a moment before she responds, thoughtful.]

I'm not used to having the luxury of time to work through feelings. There's only ever been moving ahead.

[roseeclair]

[A soft nod.]

Yeah, I think I get that. [She really does. Very thankfully, they have bouts of normalcy between enemies, usually, but especially towards the end of said enemies' plans, she and the girls have to keep going and fighting, even if they've just been subjected to traumatic spells or traps. It's why her smile sobers.] But... I guess that's one upside to being here. We've got time and space to breathe if we need it. That's really important when stuff like this happens.

[feisticuffs]

I suppose I hadn't thought of it that way.

[Time to breathe, to process. It seems such a novelty.]

I'm no stranger to loss or hard lessons, but I've always put so much emphasis on staying strong, because there was no other option. But, if the worst has happened, then... I suppose it's not so terrible, to allow yourself to miss someone.

[roseeclair]

[Nods.]

It isn't. And being strong when you need to be is good, but trying to stay strong all the time will just make you brittle. Taking care of yourself so you can take care of others is just as important.

[feisticuffs]

You know, this advice sounds awfully familiar.

[She manages to let out a brief, almost self-deprecating laugh.]

It sounds like something I would say to someone else— but I've always been bad at listening to myself.

[roseeclair]

[A light chuckle.]

I've been on both sides a lot of times. That's why it's important for us to tell each other and listen too, right?

[feisticuffs]

You're quite right. We do seem to have that in common.

[Which is nice, in that they can take the time to remind one another to do what's best for them on occasion.]
