I simply can't get over this convenience of these devices. It is certainly faster than what we used in Great Liang...though I suppose it's not as cute as a messenger bird. [And not as fun to tease as one of his disciples. He also may or may not be name dropping the name 'Great Liang' purposefully. For (actually frankly petty) Reasons.]
Though speaking of convenient, magic is quite interesting, isn't it? Such a thing didn't exist where I'm from though kinetic magic is awfully similar to qinggong. [Magic Google Translate might have translated it as 'light technique'. Good luck making head or tails of it either way.] Alchemy magic is a little more novel. I have been trying to see if I can create beef noodles with alchemy but thus far the results haven't been very good. If anyone has any advice on this I would be grateful if you could share.
[........why can't he just cook, you may ask? Because he 1) can't and 2) is curious about how else he can apply this magic after he successfully made explosives of some sort.
His expression since the beginning has been an easy-going smile, friendly and open-seeming.]
I also may need to ask someone with healing magic for their opinion and possible expertise. It's something related to poisons so I would also like to hear from those with some experience in the subject.

Naturally, he knows that in order to find a healer he may have to reveal what his issue was. Sometimes, in order to gain information one must give up some information.
And if this man really was a Marquis perhaps poisonings aren't so uncommon.]
It's an old affliction of many years. Houye needn't be troubled by it.

[Fellow alchemy user is now curious, but she hasn't made much progress in learning how to use it because the magic is so confusing to her. Thank goodness she plans on going to the school here.]

But I haven't had much luck so far. Creating the form is rather harder than expected and it doesn't taste right. I'm sure with more experiments I could probably manage something edible...perhaps I can even make wine like this.

[He's not that hopeless at least.]
Starting with juice doesn't sound like a bad idea, however. Or perhaps I can try just the soup of the noodles. [Surely soup isn't too difficult! It's just water and salt and....meat?
Yeah he has no idea what he's doing.]
So the place you're from had magic? Was it at all like what we have here?

[Yup, she has to ask!]

I'm also not the best cook. So I thought perhaps alchemy may yield better results.

[AT THIS POINT, Dolce would believe it. Ingredients keep exploding, and she's pretty sure that is not how they're supposed to work at all!]
[And normally all that would happen if she messed up a recipe is poison... but not anymore so...]
[Who knows?]

Sadly, so far the results have been...less than desirable. I have never made noodles by hand but I'm sure I could do better than this.
[He moves the phone to show...a lump of...something pale and vaguely dough like with chunks of beef in it.
Then he turns it back to himself.]
I don't mind having to keep trying but this also seems like an awful waste of food. [Pause.] Perhaps I should boil it and see how it tastes afterwards.

Are you sure that's safe?
no subject
[That'd make such a mess.]
Safe to cook it? Probably. Safe to eat...well. I can't really say.

So you believe in magic now? [Look he's dying it doesn't mean he can't still tease.] It's not necessary to deal with old damage. [More like, he doesn't expect it at all. He likes to be realistic about his chances. He just wants to buy as much time as possible.]

You got poisoned again?!
1/2
[It certainly doesn't sound like a good thing.]
Of course not. [What do you take him for!?] It's just that I'm not looking for anyone to deal with that. All I need is someone who can alleviate the present symptoms.
[And, you know, maybe keep him from dying if it comes to that?]
2/2
[He's more careful than that, thanks!]

Every time I try to look it up all I get is Revenge of the Nerds and candy suggestions? [Holds up a literal box of nerds!] They're tasty, but I'm pretty sure it's not what it means.
[Nom nom nom...]

[It's fine. Nobunaga probably needs a poison tester to keep him safe. It's just how it goes.]

I'll take payment in the form of un-poisoned candy. Nerds from nerds.

Is it wise to use words you don't know the meaning of?
[But also...
He looked thoughtful.]
I wonder if making candy with alchemy would be easier than beef noodles.
