There's been so much call to go and do something about the current situation and no one's followed through. I'm done questing. There's no need to point me at that. I spent my time playing games which are boring as hell here, wasted my time in a lot of ways. I'm getting antsy. All talk no action and it's pissing me off.
[He's bored and angry and both of those things are more than enough to be a dangerous combination for him. He knows it and kept up, so will a great many other people.]
Until someone with a set enables PVP in all areas for this guild war, because we know that things are just going to get messy anyway, I'll see what gets nibbled on here. Lost something to someone else? I'll go get it for you as long as you don't ask questions on how I got it back. Someone piss you off? Tell me the story and we'll see if I care enough to handle it for you if you can't. I'm just tired of sitting back doing nothing. No I'm not interested in fighting you, fighting randos in the lobby isn't what I want or I'd have said it. Frankly it's beneath my giveadamn level.
Alternately, a conversation that isn't boring as hell might be all this place is capable of. I'll take that too.

I dropped a coin in the bay the other day. I think a fish ate it.
Go find it.
Also, what's PVP?
text;
PVP. Player versus player. Person versus person if it's easier.

I feel like I'm missing the nuance here, but I should hope it's not us fighting each other. Not in the sense they're talking, anyway.
no subject
It's us fighting each other and fighting the other cities, or their subjects and breaking off into factions to do whatever it was they voted for. It's already begun happening, wanting to usurp this slow burn of a visual novel unfolding at a snail's pace. When a land has a leader, they should lead.
no subject
[A novel, but visual? It sounds rather self-explanatory, at least.]
I said the same thing to someone else, that this doesn't seem like a good leader's choice of action. It makes him look wishy-washy. Or that he's posturing to see what we think, so he can go with the popular choice in case his isn't received well. And it's easy to think he would have preferred to go with the war option just to get it all over with quickly, so to speak.

Have you tried reading a book?
I can talk a long time about many things, including literary correspondences I've carried on for years, but if you have no idea what interests you, how the hell should I?
no subject
...I have not tried reading a book.
Reading a book seems stagnant at face value. I'm not a reading type of guy, most of the books I read were a waste of time. Except comic books, those are fun. If you're as versed in books as you claim to be, I'm interested.
[Shigaraki's tried a pun. Shh.]
no subject
[Now Shiguraki's done it. He's getting a haiku.]
Libraries are free
Full of new worlds to explore,
Discover yourself.
I really liked Treasure Island. There's a lot of movies about it, but I didn't know which to try, so I figured the book would be best to start with.
What did you do in your world, besides video games? I assume you're not interested in Go or cards either.
no subject
So you've got a literary forté and you're a poet. I read a comic book based on Treasure Island once. I don't think it shared much aside pointers to the original story from what little I know about it. What'd you like about the book?
Hmmm. I was leader of a group of supervillains with commonality in tearing down societal norms in any way we found necessary, of course. Cards, though, aren't something I can do. I can't hold them properly fanned out.
[Is he joking? No. Is he going to hide it? Not really.]
no subject
Adventure! The pirates. Treasure. I like all of it.
Societal norms suck! [Listen... Nobunaga is just sort of like "Oh cool, same." Without the superpowers part. But probably more genocide??? Also everyone teaching him asinine modern slang should be ashamed of themselves.] Do you have hooks for hands?
no subject
This place must thrill you with its adventure times. Do you quest a lot?
[Shigaraki should never be allowed to teach anyone anything. Ever. He looks down at the prosthetic finger son one hand and finds it amusing.]
They do. They get worse the less they're kept in check, but... Prosthetics for a couple fingers, does that count?
no subject
Every chance I get.
You could try Go instead. Or I might be able to rig something if you really wanted to try.
no subject
They're graphic novels. Sequential pictures in order drawn to tell a story instead of be educational on the side of book to represent one part of the words. If you had comic books worth their time you wouldn't be bored.
[That's a same hat. Interesting.]
I'd have to find players who don't suck but Go sounds moderately better. Ngl. Rigging something is a weird way to put it. Rig what?
no subject
I haven't been defeated at Go for a few decades, if you're willing to give it your all.
Or I could rig a device to help you spread your cards. I'm awful at cards, so if you care more about winning than playing, then you might want to stick to that. Mitsuhide, my vassal, completely defeats me at every card game we've tried, and also Monopoly, but if you wanted, such a device would be easy enough to design I wouldn't even need Mitsuhide's genius. He designed my gun, but that's more to do with his mastery of explosives and sharpshooting. Are both hands prosthetic, or just one?
RL is murder rn.
I never back down from a challenge. Decades? This is the part where you tell me you're an all powerful Vampire. I'm on air for your origin story. Unless you recognize the word "quirk".
Hang on, hang on. You mean you can service prosthetics? It isn't my whole hand it's just part of my hand.
HOPE IT GETS GOOD SOON!
What is a vampire?
[His origin story is REALLY REALLY stupid, are you sure you want to know? Well, actually Shiguraki probably knows the history book version, unless he literally skipped all classes and never watched tv, but still. Once he hears Nobunaga's version, he'll probably be a lot more disappointed, but possibly more amused?]
Don't misunderstand, I'm still trying to understand the mechanics of computers, but I can certainly devise something to act as a fan for cards. If I get really FANcy, you could probably show off with it and make others jealous. I'd have to see in person how much strength and mobility you have with them, but if you can handle videogames, I can definitely make something that works for cards.
Me too! Thank you for understanding. ♥
Thank god. I thought this origin story was going to be lame.
[If he's honest he's joking about the origin story, but now he's gone and invested himself in giving a damn. Yes indeedy it's time to be more amused and disappointed than normal.]
I see your pun. I'm upset by it because I actually found it funny, not because of the pun itself. Games I could handle I used to have a hard time with things I had to touch a whole hand to. I don't need anything too FANcy, just the tension adjusted on the fingers potentially.
♥!
I'm not especially familiar with Italians. I wasn't able to freely travel to Europe on a whim, so they would have to visit me in my lands, and I've been working for years to convince them that there is even valuable reason to do so. Alessandro Valignano is the only Italian I can think of that I met with personally. He's a missionary. I knew Amerigo Vespucci circumnavigated the New World from the merchants and missionaries, but most Europeans ignore Japan entirely. Mostly we had Portuguese visitors, and Luis Frois is someone I had a years long correspondence with, but he's Portuguese. So even if Leonardo DaVinci was from my time period, I don't recognize the name, sorry.
:) I can adjust the fingers probably. And if I can't, I can still make something separate you can hold and easily manipulate. It would be good as a concealed weapon too.
[Just casually offers to make a dagger fan for a stranger. AS YOU DO?!]

She can't exactly help, but maybe she can at least talk him down from his bad mood. ...probably not, but it's worth a shot. He want's a decent conversation, right?]
If you're interested in space, I know a few cool things that were slated to happen in the year back home...
I marked each event on my calendar, then memorized them. [Because she's a NERD.]
no subject
Alright, let's hear it then. Read it in this case.
Text > Voice
Besides, if it gives Ochako a chance to talk about one of her lesser known hobbies? All the better. Switching to voice, she clears her throat a little bit, still sort of nervous, considering who it is she's talking to.]
Well, I'll start with the most recent then. There was a scheduled shuttle launch taking place on the American east coast today and NASA was going to be showing a live broadcast of it online at, um...9am the following day Tokyo time!! It's rare for there to be a shuttle or rocket launch, they so often get scrubbed because of bad weather and other things, so I've been looking forward to it ever since it was announced in various space circles I'm in!!
...Which kind of stinks, because now I'm missing it anyway. [Ochako sighs, heavily, her previous energy sort of deflating.] I guess the next thing is there's going to be another Supermoon toward the end of this month on the 25th!! I don't know if any of these cosmic events translate to this world, but it'd be really nice to see a supermoon again...they're really cool. And judging by how this island doesn't seem to have nearly as much light pollution as the cities back home, it'd be really easy to view.
Oh and after that, exactly a day after, there's slated to be a full lunar eclipse!! [There's a soft pap sound, followed by a lot of shuffling. Ochako is bouncing up and down with her hands on her cheeks back home. Seems she's come out of her shell and gone into Nerd Mode™.] It's taking place mostly on the Pacific seacoast where it's most easily viewable, but mmmhh!! I love Lunar eclipses! They're so cool and creepy and amazing, especially when you get a full lunar eclipse because the moon is big and round and RED like in a murder mystery novel or telenovela, or something. It's so cooool!!
Blood! Blood for the blood moon!! Muahahhaha!
no subject
Blood for the blood moon? He'll remember that the next homicidal crusade he runs comes around. Maybe she'll recognize it while he massacres the masses.
Christ if that wasn't a god dam trip to sit through.
And mun loved it.]...So you like space. Have you tried mapping the stars here and seeing the difference from Earth?
no subject
But, as it stands, none of this has happened, and Ochako actually...temporarily forgot who it was she was talking to. She just kind of went off, huh? Oops. Astonishingly, he was still listening, though? Most people sort of just...stop after a while, when she vomits space geekery. Better than what she usually vomits, in her opinion, but details.]
Mm, I hadn't thought of that, but...it sounds like a really fun thing to do! You think there's some sort of observatory or something around here? It'd make sense to have one... [Considering how many fantasy races are so intrinsically tied with the stars and positions of the sun, moon, and planets.]
no subject
Like the stopping him in his tracks when he was listening to her talk about space for so long and actually didn't mind hearing it. This place makes for a different experience at least. Some of them are tolerable but he'd still turn their head around backward if they tried to come after him even if it was his fault.]
There has to be and if there isn't, there's enough Alchemists and craftsmen that something can be done. If you're serious about it, then I'll look in to it. I don't care what our worlds look like back home, I want to go. If this means a way back, I'll work with you not against you for now.
no subject
Ochako pauses, blinks, and then looks like she's been slapped across the face by it all and is so, so happy she's not on video, because surely he'd either laugh at her expression, or make some sort of snide comment about it. Firstly, he's helping her with recommendations to actually chart and map the stars and planets, getting someone to maybe make her a telescope if an actual observatory isn't available...then Shigaraki is talking about actually wanting to go back home and working with her--them?? To get back???
Give her a minute to just. Process all of that.]
You--...haaaah? Wait, I...hold on. [Deep breath.] I think I'm going to need you to explain, Shigaraki-san. You actually want to work together? Why? I don't get it - your reasoning, I mean.

which one's your favorite? maybe if i hear about this kinda junk from someone who's into it, i might see what's so great.
[It's a good thing she has no idea who this is, because honestly? Jiro would hate to miss a chance to get someone rambling about their hobbies.
And it feels like it could be a good distraction from that destructive energy he's got pent up... if he feels up to chatting, anyway.]
no subject
I'm good at video games, I don't think there's one I haven't beaten to completion yet.
[Well, before he had to pull up his non-socks and be a big supervillain. Even less in the recent year. As in not at all.]
You want me to explain to you why video games are exciting? Not only are they things you have to work at, they're things you can dominate in. Be strategic, be cunning, be smart, be a god. I'm a DPS main. Do you know enough about games to know DPS style of play?
no subject
Maybe some party games and a couple of old platformers.
She has to think for a second.]
that's one of the damage dealing types, right? in mmos and stuff?
[Yeah, that's... that's all she's got. Any other guesses would feel embarrassing to make, so she ain't making'em.]
no subject
Curiosity kills more than cats, so, which would you be? Healer, Tank, or would you try DPS?
no subject
are those the only options? i can say for sure that tank's out. that's the one that's usually some big buff dude, i think
[There's just a short moment here, as she pauses to think.]
i guess dps would be closer to my speed. that would mean stuff like lots of little, high-power attacks, right?
at least if i'm reading into the "per second" part correctly
no subject
Side note: lithe women can be tanks just as easily.
Yeah, and AOE- area of effect. So we have two dps, three potentially. All we need is tank and healer.
no subject
[Another pause. Bear with her, Shigaraki, she's gotta translate this in her brain somehow.
Something that affects a specific area, that's gotta be...]
status moves? or no, wait
if it's from someone who focuses on damage, then that's what an area of effect would do
kinda like the subwoofer versus the speaker. something that gets the whole place shaking, not just whatever's in front of it.
[Surprise! The only way she can translate this correctly is through sound tech and music hardware. She'll take her "biggest nerd of the year" award now, thanks.]
what do you mean about having dps though? if you're asking if i'll play with you, you'd gotta be okay with me sucking ass for a while
