Salutations! For those who don't know me, my name is Fenton Crackshell-Cabrera. And...well, something a bit strange happened to me recently. Nothing bad, per say, just...unexpected.

When I first arrived here, I began recording and uploading videos of some observations about the relationship between this world's magic and science, and how the magic we're learning can be applied to the scientific community. After getting settled in a bit, the videos on my channel began to include some devices I'm tinkering with, and experiments I'm conducting. It was all really just for fun, and I hadn't thought much of uploading the videos online. But then a few of them started getting popular, and then someone asked if I wanted to have my account verified. So, long story short, I...guess I'm an influencer on social media now?

Which isn't quite the career I intended to take. Not that there's anything wrong with it! I'm just more of a scientist than a social media figure. But the channel is now earning revenue, and while I normally wouldn't really pursue this line of work it's actually beneficial for what I'm hoping to do...which is the main reason I'm reaching out today.

It's my goal to set up a proper science lab, where like minds would be able to create and develop their ideas, and receive assistance and support with their projects. A few people I've spoken to so far have expressed interest in such a thing, so I'm gauging to see who else might like to get involved. Of course, something like this requires funds, and that's why I'll be maintaining my YouTube channel in the meantime. I'm hoping the money I earn from my videos will help finance the lab.

Even if you're not interested in science, I would definitely appreciate any kind of support you could provide, even if it's just sharing some of my videos with a friend. And anyone who might be interested in the lab, let me know.

[ Just as he's about to turn off the video, he gives a surprised cry when something seems to bump into him from below, and the image shakes as he fumbles with the phone. When the screen is righted again, it is zoomed out a bit to show a golden-haired dog looking up at him as it sits directly underneath him. ]

...And this is my lab assistant, Atom. I guess he wanted to say hello too.

[ Atom the lab assistant dog barks, and Fenton rolls his eyes even while patting the dog's head. ]

Atom actually does help in some of my videos! When I'm working on a device, he's learned to bring me tools to help.

[ "Help" meaning Atom brings random tools to Fenton's workbench in succession, and every once in a while it happens to be a tool he needs. ]

Though I'm curious... I've been hearing about these "social influencers," but what exactly are they?

[This is all so new to her still. This concept. This technology. Even after being here for a bit now. They didn't have anything like this back home, that's for sure.]

But ah, a lab? I'm sure I'd probably just trip and mess things up if I tried to help but! I'm sure you could do it! You'd just need the money and somewhere to set it up, right?

Oh yes! The videos are posted on a public site where people are able to view them, and if the person becomes popular enough it means their video is reaching a wide audience.

Thank you! Yes, I do need the funds and location to set it up, but any assistance would still be appreciated. I'm sure there's something you can do, if you wanted to help out.

You sure are making a splash here. I can help spread the word, of course. Maybe throw together a promo, too... And of you need some help with your videos, well... You know, I am an actor! I know a thing or two about presentation.

How much do you know about editing? Because I worry that my videos might be a bit too long.

I know a fair amount about editing, I've tinkered with some videos here and there! [AMVs.]

So I can take a look at your videos and see what we can do about the runtime! And any other polishing that needs to be done, of course. You need to make sure your videos have some real pizzazz!

Oh, excellent! I'm excited to help build a scientific presence here.

At the moment, it'll really help to share the videos on my channel. More exposure helps build the money we'll need to build the lab. Securing a location would for the lab would also be ideal, but we have time for that.

In the meantime, let me know what projects you'd like to work on! It'll give me an idea of the supplies we might need for the lab once we can get it running.

I'll also ask Matt if he has any projects he's specifically thinking about starting and get you a full list. Personally, I'm planning on seeing if we can recreate some of the Altaen technology Allura and I are most familiar with here. I'm not one hundred percent sure of everything I'll need, but whatever space I work in should probably be pretty isolated in case of explosive failure."

Oh no, of course not! While I do make videos about some projects I have, I don't include projects I'm working on for other people.

[ Mostly because he'd rather people didn't see when he's working on the Gizmosuit or equipment for Drake. ]

Speaking of, I've gotten a few more materials for the desk, so I'm hoping to get it completed soon!

Well, the technical definition of influencers in social media are people who have built a reputation for their knowledge and expertise on a specific topic. They make regular posts about that topic on their preferred social media channels and generate large followings of enthusiastic, engaged people who pay close attention to their views.
