[ The camera blips up into the curious and earnest face of a teenaged boy, cherry-red hair hanging lank around his face and a slightly different shade of red eyes; his right eye seems flecked with an almost unremarkable scar just above its eyelid, thin but slanting up to nearly touch the brow above it. His expression splits in a little smile, almost sweet except for all his lips hint at the points of serrated teeth beneath them. It's understandably difficult to feel at ease with a smile full of shark's teeth. ]

So this might be a pretty dumb question, but what kinda magic's involved with styling your hair to the point, like, you want it to stay somethin' else? It's gotta exist here, right? I saw a cliff make itself into a bunch of arms before I even got here and bunnies burst outta a flower... So you guys can definitely turn hair colors and freeze it into a particular style, right? Anybody?

[ Listen... a lot of other newbies have been putting out some big questions and it'd be a lie to say Kirishima isn't digging through them, along with talk about war. Still, he feels like maybe a bit of levity is needed.

That isn't to say he doesn't sincerely want someone to tell him spiking up his hair might be a permanent, dyable possibility... cuz he does. ]

Alchemy sounds like it would work! Or maybe you could pay someone with kinetic magic to follow you around and hold some sort of hairstyle in place.

[ It's not polite at all, but Kirishima's not offended and he's already warm from chuckling over the thought of someone just following him around like a friend and occasionally making his hair stand up like some sort of human blowdryer. He takes the voice at their word that they like his teeth. ]

Neither, man, I was born with 'em! Er, well, I mean they came in like this when most babies get their teeth!

Humans can look a lotta different ways where I'm from because of their Quirks.

[ He taps and then scratches his cheek thoughtfully with an index finger. ]

Though... sometimes it's hard to make sense of them all...

Alchemy, for hair gel and hair dye, or find someone who can enchant your hair. Personally, I'd suggest the former.

That makes sense! [ Dye and gel is pretty much like potions and that's what alchemists do, right? Kirishima's still learning about his own magic, so he's hardly versed on the particulars of others. ] Can alchemy permanently dye your hair, though? Even when it grows out, I mean.

That would require fundamentally changing your genetic structure, most likely. Or making a deal with the fae, if you feel especially [stupid] daring.

There might be a way that I can help, Kirishima-kun. With alchemy I've been able to change the color of fabric and flowers a few times. It takes some time but changing the molecular structure of something to make it hold a different shape or change color can work with alchemy magic. That's fundamentally what alchemist can do, changing the atoms around in something to something else.

[He puts a hand to his chin. Muttering out loud as he thinks...!]

But I've never tried it on a person before. Changing someone's hair to make it stay a certain way might be a little more risky. I'm wondering if a potion to help naturally change the structure permanently might be a better and safer idea instead of directly applying alchemy magic...

[Kind of like the last hair dye he'll ever need?? This is so important. But Izuku has to do some research!!]

Ah-! Well, not a whole lot yet. I've been working so much on getting transmutations right that I haven't done a lot of potion brewing yet. But I want to try! If you'd like, I can start with this for you, Kirishima-kun!

There should be a way to enchant a hat with light magic so that it looks the part, right? That might be safer than doing magic on yourself.

[The face that pops up here belongs to another earnest-looking teenager. His own hair is just worn short with a little of it clipped up at the back, but he gets what it's like to have a signature style, don't worry.]

Woah, I didn't even think about hats! That's pretty cool! But do they work better or worse than wigs?

[ Kirishima actually really likes that clipped-up look. Mostly he's been going ponytail when he didn't feel like his hard-won gel product was necessary. He's got to make this a consideration now. ]

A hat could double as armour, if you get something sturdy and put illusion magic on that... But then, there's no reason you couldn't enchant a wig to look better, either. Whatever you can get a hold of easier, I guess.
