i didnt know you have to interview to get jobs. even if it's just at a restaurant!! regardless of whether the job itself involves talking to people at all!!? stupid

it's like capturing a moment and keeping it in a jar for later

okay this is a super dumbed down version since idk what your world does have or whether they even know how vision in a person's eye works but

you use a specially curved piece of glass or other transparent hard material
it focuses light rays onto a specific point that's light-sensitive
and turns the the results into a still image

video takes that one step further and takes a ton of consecutive images and makes them move at a set number of images per second.
that creates the illusion of movement in the picture you see.

ask someone from a modern version of Earth to make you a "flipbook." it'll demonstrate the same kind of illusion


video also uses an audio recording as a separate track that plays at the same time as the moving pictures. technology can keep the audio and the video in sync.

well. my dad shot lightning at me once. with his firebending. but i let it course through my body without passing through my heart in such a way that i could redirect it and shoot it back at him.

it wasn't comfortable. and it's dangerous.
but it saved my life.
if i hadn't redirected it, it would've hit my heart.
but i could definitely feel it from head to toe.....

it's a very advanced technique. as is lightningbending itself. most firebenders can't do that. i can't. but my uncle taught me how to redirect it because my father and sister can.
i could probably redirect it more easily here too now that i have siphoning magic, come to think of it......
