I am in need of assistance in regards to this "smart phone" device I have been burdened with. It continues to make undesirable sounds throughout the day and into the night.
[ Okay maybe one person tends to message him throughout the night but that's neither here nor there. ]
It is bothersome. I want it to stop.
[ He has no idea how to turn the sound off or how to even turn the thing off! ]

If you want to turn the sound off, there's a tiny switch on the side of the phone. Flicking it down turns the sound OFF, flicking it up turns the sound ON.
You'll still get message alerts, but the phone will only vibrate instead, which is quieter.
There's also a 'Do Not Disturb' mode, too, which I think halts all incoming text, email messages, and calls, and immediately sends them to your mailbox instead, for later.
someone must like talking to you, though. ^o^

I see. I think this do not disturb mode would best suit my needs.

Okay!! I show you how, just give me a few minutes...
This thing is still a little newish for me, too.
[Considering Ochako only ever had an outdated flip phone back home in Musutafu. It was still top quality, but not the same as all her friends. This has been a bit of a learning curve for her, but not...by much...considering she's tech savvy. In maybe ten or so minutes, Xiao will get a series of snapshots with circles and arrows pointing a various spots, with text instructions added in as well, numbered in steps.]
Just don't forget to turn it off when you want to get alerts again.
People won't be able to reach you easily when it's on...
You don't want to miss anything important!

I did not know that there was a way to silence this device at all.

Is dw being weird?
It's behaving for me right now, but I believe in its ability to be weird at any given time.
I feel like that previous tag was one i already responded to
No, but Keigo's complaints do blur together after a while.

Have you been informed yet? What kind of technology are you used to?

I have received a few responses and several options yes. Again I would sooner toss it into the water we were all thrown into but that does not seem to be one of the options.

Why, yes. Yes he is. ]
You don't have to keep it with you. Shove it in a drawer under a pile of dirty socks. Only take it out when you need to check your messages.
[ He's only being this snarky because everyone else has already covered DND and silent mode. ]
