Those of you with familiars, I have a question - how do you name them? Did it give you any trouble?
What happens if they don't like it?
It doesn't feel like naming a pet, or some future family member. Waiting for inspiration to strike hasn't worked yet.
And now I'm starting to feel like I have to give this phone a name, too.

What for? I just asked for suggestions, and you narrowed them down. That helps a lot.
Honestly, there's an equal chance that he doesn't remember who he was. I don't think giving him more time is going to change that - or else it would be too convenient.
[His other friend didn't remember everything at first, either... no, never mind, he deletes that little addition before sending. Too much information.]
I just want something to call him by. It feels weird to still not have anything.

I should have known that the familiars might take shape of the creatures from our worlds. Some of my friends have familiars like that.
[ Sagi, don't delete your chance for character development, oh my god. ]
Giving him a nickname would be an easy way out, but I'm not sure if you want to do that.

Then again, there's no reason we can't use a nickname for now, and switch to his real name if we ever find out what it is. I have another friend who was like that about his name.
I'll think about it some more.
[Which is to say, he'll be thinking about "Smoochie".]
