Those of you with familiars, I have a question - how do you name them? Did it give you any trouble?
What happens if they don't like it?

It doesn't feel like naming a pet, or some future family member. Waiting for inspiration to strike hasn't worked yet.
And now I'm starting to feel like I have to give this phone a name, too.

But, yes, I think... you should probably find out why he doesn't want to share, first. Can he at least let you know if he doesn't like his name or what?

[He rallies quickly.] Oh, yeah, it's no big deal. I'm just not even sure he has a real name.

I see... [He pauses, deciding against investigating further if the other doesn't want to share details.] Well... I would then look for a name he doesn't seem to dislike, it's probably better than no name at all.

Yeah. That's where I'm stumped. It's hard to think of one that fits.

[Whew, he's successfully avoided reckoning with his backstory yet another day.]

What name did you go with for yours, anyway?

[The knight doesn't like to be too nosy when he can avoid that, he also has things he doesn't want to share.]

Oh... Huh... I'm actually pretty terrible with names. My Loftwing [He actually stops to send a Picture of his red Bird.] is named Red, he's my pet, and my familiar [Another picture follows] is named Fluff... You can probably find better names.

Well, I'm glad you think so. But... yeah, I didn't think too much about it when I picked the names.

Hey, that's fair. Overthinking never helped me out much either. Guess I've just been stuck on this island too long.

Have you been here for a long time?

[There's another long pause.]

If I may, you know what helps me focus when I can't find answers? Crafting. I focus only on what I'm creating for a while and that allows me to untangle my thoughts, usually. It helps me untangle my own thoughts.

Whoa. What kinds of stuff do you make?

[Don't mind him sounding so earnestly impressed that he got sidetracked for a second. The things he's created in his short lifetime can be narrowed down to 1) political unrest and 2) cards.]

I enjoy sculpting. I especially enjoy carving birds out of large pieces of wood. But it can be anything, really.

[One of the things he enjoys the most is the fact that now he can just... find wood whenever he wants. Back in Skyloft, when he was trapped in a floating island above the clouds, wood supplies were quite limited.]

That's pretty cool. You're like a self-made artist.

[He actually sounds thoughtful, just for a second.]

I don't know if that would clear my head, but you're right. Sometimes that's better than going in circles.

Oh, no, I was actually taught how to, and I'm no artist, I just... enjoy spending time like that.

[He hums before nodding, even if the other cannot really see him.]

I like going out on walks when I'm stuck on something. It's just... less convenient in all this rain. [His lopsided grin is almost audible.]

Well, perhaps it's time to see if you can find another small hobby, then?

Like your sculpting? Well... is there some way to try it out first?

I wasn't necessarily suggesting that, but if you'd like to try... I wouldn't mind letting you try with my tools.

They are a bit personal, perhaps, but at the same time I support people trying to learn new things.
