[The video starts with Gundham just sort of sitting on a bale of hay at the stables. His newfound magical abilities has made upkeep far easier as he no longer really needed to go into town for supplies, and he now had a bit too much time with his own thoughts. After a moment of hesitation, he finally decides to speak.]

I have a hypothetical that I would like opinions on from the rest of you.


In a far off world, there is a war between the forces of light and darkness. Among the forces of darkness there is an order of Death Knights that act as generals for the King of Darkness. Little is known about them or how they operate, mainly because there are no survivors to report on any encounters. The only concrete facts known about them is that wherever they go all that is left in their wake is death and ash. None are spared, warriors, civilians, children, none are spared.

The forces of Light decide that the best way to end the war is to assassinate the king, cutting off the power the knights receive from the king. However, in doing so, it's revealed that the knights were operating under duress, though the specifics are not widely known. The knights had no choice in the matter and the weight of their actions nearly crush them when freed from the king's influence.

My question to you is what would you do with these knights? Do they deserve to be given to the families of those they slew and made an example of? Would you console them? Or simply do nothing and make them figure it out for themselves?

Do they deserve redemption, or are they too far gone?

[That was closer to what Gundham was expecting in all honesty. The fact that this was the first one strikes him as... odd. Still, he couldn't bring himself to simply accept that.]

Yet to give up on life is an insult to life itself. Simply laying down and dying aids none, not those seeking justice, those who perpetrated the crimes, nor the world at large.

[ A deep, slow breath. She holds onto her next words before letting them out, realizing how harsh they must seem. ]

[There's a huff. If she wants to bring God into the picture, Gundham has a lot to say.]

There is no 'God'. Only charlatans demanding fealty to an imaginary friend possessed of power that would make simply proving their existence the simplest thing yet none can seem to accomplish that. Meanwhile the clergy lines their pockets with the ill gotten coin of the faithful, wielding their faith like a blade to secure their own power while the sick suffer and the poor starve.

If there truly is a 'God' that would allow such things, I would very much like to meet them, so that I might kill them.

[Another scoff. He's seen enough horror to hate the idea of a benevolent God.]

No, there is no God, or gods. Only demons in disguise.

[ Given, well... everything she has learned on the state of things from Ovelia, she can't help but... laugh a little at his tirade, which probably was not meant to be at all amusing. Which she suddenly realized was, despite the weight of their conversation, very rude, and she gives a small gasp. ]

I-I apologize, I meant no disrespect! Twas but... ah... your words just seemed so oddly familiar, in that moment.

[ Thankfully, his sincerity made her think more about Ramza than, well... the spectre that had actually inspired that bitterness from before. ]

[There's a wave of various emotions washing over Gundham as he processes the response, settling mainly on confusion, while also realizing that he probably let he emotions get the better of himself there.]

I-I'm not quite sure I understand what you mean. And I suppose I lost myself for a moment there.
