He presses a fist to his mouth and closes his eyes, brows furrowed.]

But for the love of everything, don't drink that Dandelion-Apple-Banana milkshake that they have been selling.

Luckily, no!

I was going after a rabbit, but then I remembered they are protected this month. If I caught it, I would've been cursed.

[And then his boyfriend would've tossed him onto the street or double cursed him for bringing bad luck into the house.]

( Maruki is the kind of nerd who's holed himself up in the library a lot since arriving, but these kinds of talks still make his head spin. curses. really... )

Y-yeah. ( he laughs out of nervous habit rather than actual humour. ) That would be a problem.

So... do you know if it's a specific curse, or...?

( it's gonna take a while before these kinds of conversations cease to feel weird as heck, really. )

[Curses are a real problem. Kise himself would've been locked out of his own house if he got it. And even if he got it cured, there would still be a problem.]

No, I just heard in passing that you get cursed. I didn't stop to ask because- who would go hunting for rabbits all of a sudden?

Well, for example... someone who can't afford to get groceries yet?

Why wouldn't they be? There's a lot of part-time jobs, requests and jobs on the quest board that pays good money.

But, I mean, if you HAVE to hunt, why not go for deer? It gives more meat. Rabbit is just too much work for one little meal.

Well... If it were me, I wouldn't be able to drag a deer back to where I'm staying. Or even know how to begin preparing the meat. ( just a city boy!!!! born and raised in Tokyooooo!!! probably. ) But a rabbit is something I can lift.
